First : realisticly, when you go to a cemetary and stand on someone's Grave there is a name carved there!
Second: to rob a Grave means you have to Dig!
third : It is not a ganratee that the person you are robbing has cash on him
(the change would be made in the graverob page were a list of people's names would be there like the locals list pointing out the people barried there)
as for petty and felony
First: to do these things means you have to do some hard work
Second: you get paid at the end of the opperation not in the begining
(change would be so that you get the cash after you have selected the petty and waited the duration to make another one not before and the same thing goes for felony)
as for dealing drugs:
First: you pay - you get drugs / you sell drugs - you get cash
there should be an option were you can consume the drugs and get a certain boost in stats (doesn't have to be a big boost) and at the same time if someone is on crack he can't focus very well and will prob miss a few shots in case he had one.
(open for discution)

I don't agree with this at all. this means that over a short period of time we will see "Super-heroes" emerge on our streets. As if we don't have enough with ClarenceWorley running around... |

Because the grave robbing doesn't carry any real risks, but has a financial, xp and a skill reward - we need to counteract those rewards with a "needs to work for it" aspect. The obits already does most of the work for you, its a listing of everyone who is dead, and shows the date in which they are eligible to be grave robbed. Have you ever been to a funeral where the gravestone is already there? They are normally manufactured and placed at a later date. If you wanted to make it realistic, then we could do a cemetery with a listing of all the people there - however you're ass will be walking around a few acres of plots in order to find one you can hit :)
If the cemetery idea doesn't sit right with you as far as "not everyone is burried with assets", perhaps we could make it a "breaking and entering" type thing? If the guy is NY, and he died in Philly... his residence is still in NY, and would still contain assets a day after he died.
Any feedback?

What if Instead Of robbing that dead person's grave you could go to their empty residents and try to rob their residence? |

I like the Idea of robbing someones house, Maybe it could become a group crime as usually there may be someone from there family there and you wouldn't try kill a few people on your own you would take a mate or an associate along. |

I think Squishy, as is explained in the descriptive text of the crime, you are stealing belongings and fencing them. Most people in the early part of the 20th Cent. would have been buried in their best clothes and with wedding rings, watches etc, as the body would have been on display in the church before the burial. Most pawn shops at this time would have taken good clothes due to the recession. The money you generate from robbiong graves is fairly insignificant, on a power with pick pocketing, but it is in keeping with the game... it will become even more so if the planned reduction in the games economic features to 1/10 current levels is impliamented. Lets face it, Grave robbing is a low brow crime designed to give starting characters a way to make a little extra money after wars and battles, probably why its open to associates only as well. As you also stated Squishy, chances are there would be no grave stone there to identify the body, so again I see no need to alter how this is done.
As for the suggestion on drugs... well if you can take your own product you can OD on it too, so you would have to put WB possibilities in... however I have spoken at length about the drug dealing system in this game previously. Although most of the drugs are available in the games era, the Mafia weren't dealing in them, and you would have been put in the ground if you were caught using or with an addiction. I'd rather see the drugs swapped out for more traditional Mafia businesses. hooch, numbers, loan sharking, weapons running, Union tampering etc, and the DFPs changed for business fronts, again dealing in the more traditional mafia businesses
Could just as easily become:
The Numbers of Units you bought with the Drugs would become the number of rackets you were running, the number of Loans you had bought up, the City Council votes you had riggedetc as well as the number of Crates of Hooch or weapons.
As for the DFPs, they would simply become Fronts for laundering money, and the money you laundered would be based on above rather than drugs. Again this is purely a cosmetic change, but the Mafia didn't get into drugs until the 1960's and 70's |

Your Honor I like the idea of switching the crimes up to more traditional crimes the mafia committed back in those days. My only question is would you get the same amount of money as with the drug dealing? And what if there was an option where you could choose whether or not your going to be a dealer? |

As I said Fulmineojr, it would just be a cosmetic change, no need to alter the pay out from how it is now. |

I agrea with squishy on the grave robbing thing,
I agrea with JudgeDeath on the Drug changing process
one last thing...
When a person dies, what happens to all his cash at hand and in the bank?
just a thought, what if when a person dies and has cash in his hand then the one who killed him would get the cash (knowing that it is with him at hand and it would fit in RP wise...
second, what if the cash that user has in bank can be robbed?
any comments? |

I like JudgeDeath's idea...
Set up or buy legitimate businesses as fronts under the old DFP's, then have the option of running an illegitimate business from that. Then you can launder your money thru the legal business. And the type of neighborhood ur in would dictate what type of illegal business you could run from it. For example, if you own a bakery in a poor section of town, then u might only be able to do a numbers racket or loan sharking...
Or, if you own an office building downtown, u could do land rackets or union tampering, i.e., more "white-collar" crimes. |
