Maddy had just gotten back from having coffee and a snack at the local cafe only to hear that ProjecT had arrived back home from a long nights work.

It was a special day in the headquarters and Maddy was so hysterically excited she could barely contain herself. Maddy had asked ProjecT to call for Nexus to join them in the office, @Project stood next to her shaking his head smiling at her. She had been waiting for this day ever since she had started working with Nexus.

As @Nexus walked in she attempted to straighten up. "Ya needed me boss?" He raised an eyebrow when he saw how animated Maddy was.

"Nexus you know how much I appreciate everything you do here for Mass Hysteria. You've been great with helping new recruits learn the ropes, keeping people in line, including myself at times, and just being overall amazing.Your dedication to Detroit and us here make you and our city perfect." Maddy pulled a wooden box tied off with a velvet red ribbon from her desk and handed it to him. She smiled and nodded gesturing for him to open it. In it was a small gold key with the inscription "The key to your future" on it. He looked at her a bit confused and intrigued all at the same time. "I think it's time you move out of here and run your own family close by. There's a building a few blocks away, perfect for you." She covered her mouth slightly with her hands to hide the huge smile. "It's to your new Headquarters. I hope you like it. I made sure they put a bar in your office fully stocked with the finest drinks." Maddy came from around her desk and gave him a big hug. "I have no doubt that you will do amazing things there." She walked to her cabinet pulling out the finest rum and pouring them each a glass. "We must celebrate your continued success."

Maddy smiled and raised her glass, clinking together with Nexus' having the biggest of smiles on her face and the best thoughts in her mind, she knew without a doubt that he was going to do great things within the city of Detroit. "To the prosperity of Detroit and your future endeavors!"

Maddy gave him one more celebratory hug before her and Project escorted Nexus to his new Headquarters.

Nexus had been up late the previous night running some errands around town and of course stopping over at Ray’s pub for a glass of whisky. He called it a night, and much to his surprise he a had a good night’s sleep. Until 8am in the morning his phone rang... It was not often he’d get a call early in the morning from Project, he knew something was up when “Boss needs you in the office now” in a hurried voice.

Nexus got himself out of bed swiftly, making sure he was cleanly shaven ensuring his aftershave was put on, he always made sure he is well-groomed when he has a meeting with the boss. He put on his finest dark three-piece pin stripe silk suit on and grabbed his fedora hat too.

As he had no time to grab breakfast, he lit his cigarette instead and jumped in his polished black Mercedes Benz 260 D, “To bosses office” he told his driver.

Nexus was nervous and anxious during the short ride, which felt much longer than normal in what was a quiet morning in Corktown. His palms were unusually sweating, “You ok boss” asked the driver “I told you drive to the bosses’ office didn’t I” replied Nexus in an angrily manner.  He was unsure as to why Maddy had required his presence so early in the morning, she usually knows not to call him early in the day as he’s a grumpy old sod in the mornings.

“We’re almost there boss” said the driver. Nexus was starting to feel even more nervous and anxious now, he lit another cigarette to gather himself. The car pulled up in front of the headquarters of Mass Hysteria. Nexus sat for a minute or two in the car before composing himself to get out.

He finally managed to compose himself and entered the building and made his way slowly to the bosses’ office. First he saw Project with a smile on his face, and they greeted each other with a firm handshake.

Nexus stumbled into the office where Maddy was standing, Nexus was surprised to see the boss in such a hysterical mood this early in the morning.

“You needed me boss?” he asked, before he was about to leap in for a hug.

Maddy informed Nexus the reason she had called him into the office today, was to tell him that he is being granted authorisation to set up his own crew here in Detroit.

He grabbed the wooden box, and nervously opened it, with "The key to your future" written on it

A shocked Nexus, took couple of seconds to gather his thoughts. Before he knew it, Maddy had come around her desk to give him a hug. That calmed him down a little.

With a nervous voice he muttered.

“Err, Boss, it would be my honour to work alongside you here in Corktown, to make our city great again. It has been my pleasure working under you, and learning from you, for me you have been the best mentor and boss that I could have wished for. You know I will work as hard as ever to bring prosperity back to our city. I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity, none of this would have been possible without you. You have my unbinding loyalty and respect boss; I will forever remain grateful”

“But Hey, you know you haven’t got rid of me yet, I’ll be back here every now and then for a drink and catch up, oh and thanks for the bar, you know me too well” he grinned.

Nexus took the glass of rum passed to him by Maddy, and “Cheers” to Maddy’s toast, “To the prosperity of Detroit”

After the drink, Maddy came over to Nexus and gave him one more hug, to which Nexus whispered in her ear “Thank you” before leaving the office.

Nexus followed Project out of the building, but before they got in the car Nexus walked around the corner to have a moment to himself, knowing he has fulfilled a lifelong ambition of having his own crew, he pondered into the sky for a few minutes.

Before, Project came around the corner shouting “Hurry up man, I got things to do”

They both then jump into the car, and rush over a few blocks to Nexus’s new headquarters…
