The importance or irrelevance of a bloodline. Started by: Boogie on Feb 04, '18 21:40

Boogie stepped outside of his beloved Don RomanReign's HQ. To say it was wild outside was an understatement. So many mafiosi stood there flabbergasted. Women passed out. Men held notepads tight in their hands. Kids, cats, dogs, birds all froze and looked in the direction of Boogie. For they knew when he stepped on the streets, he came with the teachings of a great sage.

Boogie smirked.

How could he have blamed them? In a day and age where the streets were being flooded WITHOUT teachings surely someone had to do it. He cleared his throat, loosened his tie, and checked his Rolex Oyster watch. There wasn't much time on his hands. He had much important things to do these days but making time out of his day to teach the plebeians was definitely a priority nonetheless. Whoever thought otherwise needed to take their heads out of their ass, because the cheers, claps, and of course, the thrown panties in his direction definitely said otherwise. I'm pretty sure there were people willing to commit suicide just so their kids could also hear such wisdom.

Today my fellow mafioso...we touch on a very touchy subjectLINEAGE. I've spoken to so many people in this thing of ours and a consensus opinion didn't exist.

Before anyone speaks out of turn and says anything stupid that will get them slapped let me explain something. In order to even be eligible for perhaps one of the most prestigious achievements this thing of ours can offer, which of course is becoming a Made Man, your bloodline must be able to be traced back to that of the old country. Simple. Such a basic rule that has existed before your father's father was a sperm in a nut sack. Anyone disagreeing with those traditional rules should be whacked and fed to the cannibals from Texas.

But it stops there. I understand. I honestly do. When someone enters the family business the first thing that pops into a person's mind is "I wonder who signed the very journals that this young man keeps underneath his pillow". Basic human thinking. The expectations of a father's son has gone on for many years. It's a human's thought process to automatically assume that if the father was a rat, a great athlete, a master cook, a diabolical dictator, a male stripper, that said son would also follow in such foot steps. After all, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. However, any Crew Leader that fixes their lips to ask a man what bloodline he belongs to other than to practice the unspoken rule of getting him made DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE A CREW LEADER. Yes. I've said it. Why don't they deserve an auth? Quite simple. Because they don't understand how this thing of ours work, let alone LIFE. How dare you, a supposedly good leader, take away someone's chance of being their own man?

Granted you're a leader and have the right to do whatever the fuck it is you want. But, and the only exception of a but in this lifestyle not involving Bubba, you create a very tensed atmosphere from the moment you ask that question. Basically you're programming it in your head if said person is damned from the moment he became an associate. You're making them give up their right to be their own person and forcing them to lay in a bed that was already preoccupied by his great-great-great grandpappy. You're stripping them of the opportunity to live freely and enjoy the achievements made by THEM. Either way what you're basically telling them is "Fuck you because what your family has done will forever plaque your lineage". This, not by opinion but by FACT, is wrong.

Random man yells out "Buh...ermmm wat abt bl0dlining?!?1o?ne!?!?". Boogie slapped so many tastebuds out of his mouth he won't be able to tell the difference between sugar and salt for the next 4 months.

Didn't I say no talking out of turn?

Let's clear something up. Too many mafioso is this thing of ours speculate that them being bloodlined is a prestigious privilege set out on few to hold them back from discovering some elite gene passed down in the pages of their journals. No you ass wipe. You are a nobody. And your father, compared to those who HAVE contributed greatly in this thing of ours, were also nobodies. Certain individuals are bloodlined for one reason and one reason only. The mind blowing stupidity done by your ancestors. History has probably shown that great leaders with long stretches of power has no problem giving people chances. Sometimes though, there were acts so stupid they had no choice but to keep clipping you off. Not because you were a mastermind. Not because you were a threat. Not because you could overthrow them. But because your line has shown so many acts of stupidity that their hands were forced. The ones that weren't stupid enough? According to history they've made their dents to the powers that be. Many times over though I'm sure a lot of stupid people got their act together after bumping their head a few times.

"Wat abt the opuhz...opoicit...errmmm wat abt the opposite of bloodline hunting? Wat abt bloodline favortism?"

Boogie thought about slapping this one's eyebrows so that he could wear them on his big toe but Boogie thought about this question. It was a good question for once.

Hmm. Good question Bobby. Let's draw up a scenario.

Let's say that Ricky Bobby's father died in the war during Seattle's internal bloodbath then decided to come to Los Angeles. I have no idea who Ricky or who Ricky's family is. Nor do I care. But let's just say I somehow found out who signed his journals and it wasn't anyone I associated with. Of course, I would still take Ricky under my wing and do what's right as long as he continued to earn my boss money. But that would be it. Strictly business and no special care.

Now on the other hand. Let's say LA went to war with Seattle and one of LA's Dons were murdered in the conflict. If the Don's son, Michael, decided to pick up his intermediate family tradition, then of course I'd look after him in a special manner. We're about looking for OUR own. And when I mean OUR, I mean those who've laid their bones. His father was a friend of ours. His father put in many hours. His father earned my boss much millions. His father was a fucking DON. Would it be ridiculous for the son of a Don to be treated slightly different? Of course fucking not. It's only right that the Don's next of kin be compensated for his father's skill DISPLAYED TO OUR FAMILY. Sure he'd have to prove himself just like everyone else. But he'd be looked at with 10% kinder eyes for the sake of his father's doing towards the family. Had it not been that? He'd be with 0 compensation.

Boogie looks at his Rolex.

Now I have many business adventures to tend to. All comments and thoughts are welcomed until I have to leave.
