People have been asking me "Aybabtu, did you steal our base?" to which I respond, yes, yes I did. All your base are belong to us. But that is beside the point. The point of today's rant is, basically. |

I really don't think people here have the business sense to do this the right way.
Helps me though! |

I'm glad. If I can help one person with this, I may finally get some sleep at night. |

You would think the market forces would drive the bulk prices down. But over time I have consistantly found a better deal just buying credits one at a time when needed. I have never understood what is going on there. |

Well...what I mean, Aybabtu, is that the current foolishness of the market sellers helps me.
I know very well how to make a profit or lower my total investment average. Always a deal to be made... |

The price of single credits isn't neccesarily right or wrong. It's just the way it is. Selling single credits has become popular because it allows people without large sums of money to purchase credits. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are saying, the responsibility of correcting this flaw in the system you have described would fall upon the people selling in bulk. If the price of a single credit drops below the cost of a credit bought in bulk, it would be more incumbant upon the credit wholesalers (those selling in bulk) to correct the problem as you've explained, as opposed to expecting those who sell single credits to raise their prices. Unless of course that is exactly what you are suggesting, in which case I agree. Regardless, there are certain benefits to a seller selling credits in bulk that are higher than the cost of a single credit that I will allow you all to figure out for yourselves. That's commerce, bitches. |

RocknessMonster, I feel quite confident in myself when I say you have the be the stupidest person I've seen speak here as of yet. There are no benefits to selling in bulk for a higher cost than a single. This is because in this instance, you are effectively fucking your customer in two ways. Number one, they need to come up with a large amount of money right from the start. Number two, they could easily buy the same amount of credits in singles for cheaper. There is no incentive for them to purchase a bulk purchase at this rate. |

That's fine :) That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, as wrong as it may be. Here's some facts though...
Wrong. There are indeed certain benefits to placing bulk credits on the marketplace higher than the average single credit. People do it quite often actually. Of course your credits won't sell right away, and it isn't a good way to make consistent profit, but it could make you some good money in certain circumstances. I'm speaking in terms of MR credits, not Sam's Club wholesale toilet paper analogies, which are irrelevant to the MR credit marketplace. Sometimes people put credits on the marketplace in bulk at extremely high prices. It's not to be competitive with the single credit seller who's selling singles at low prices, but there are reasons for doing so. I don't personally do it, but some do and I understand why. The fact you don't understand doesn't make the sellers stupid. You're just the guy who doesn't get it. Anyway....
Actually I didn't suggest there was a flaw. You suggested there was something wrong and I responded. I'm actually quite content with how the marketplace operates. And the reason why people would sell singles at such low prices is actually quite simple (to most people). I know you think your Sam's Club/Price Chopper/etc analogy was clever, but doesn't really apply to the single credit marketplace on MR in its current state. Let's say *hypothetically for the sake of argument* I have a large sum of credits, and I want to sell them as singles at 150k a piece. Some assfuck like you on the other hand, is selling them in bulk at 175k a piece. Why is it incumbent upon me to meet your prices? Sure, I could raise my prices. People are going to buy credits anyway. But if I am in a position to sell them cheaper and at a faster rate, why wouldn't i? I'll make my money selling my credits at 150k a piece regardless, while your shitty credits sit there and collect dust :D Chances are I'll flip my credits steadily throughout the day and make consistent money while you're sitting there not selling anything, comparing my success/your failure to bulk toilet paper sales at Cosco, wondering why everyone else isn't 'smartening up' :/ Who knows, maybe by me dropping my prices I'll cut into your profits so badly I'll force you to yank your offers off the marketplace all together. I'd still be profiting, so what would I care? If your argument is that it doesn't make sense for the average price of a credit when bought in bulk to be more expensive than that of a single credit, then I agree. But if the price of a single credit drops, common sense would suggest that it's the bulk sellers who would need to lower their prices below the cost of a single credit due to the fact that the single credit marketplace is so hot right now. It's certainly not imperitive for the single credit sellers to raise their prices, like you suggested. The single credit marketplace is very popular. One could even say it dictates the value of a credit. If you want to sell in bulk, you may have to adjust your prices to that of a single credit. It's really not that hard to understand. Like Ancalagon said, this is also to the buyer's benefit. So if the buyer and the single credit seller are benefiting then why would the single credit seller need to change their practices?
Wow that's brilliant :/ How would either of those options benefit you if the guy selling single credits is still undercutting you? Isn't that exactly what is happening now? And has been for some time? How long do you plan on waiting? People's motives for lowering the cost of credits on the marketplace vary. You not knowing those motives doesn't make them stupid. In fact, one could argue it actually makes you stupid. Or at the very least just ignorant to the intricacies of the credit marketplace (or business in general). I get where you were trying to go with this act. The whole calling me stupid part and your attempt at humor in your original post suggesting that we're all fortunate to have you around to bestow your wisdom upon us... that bit works for players like Grin, FlyingPig, guys like that. It doesn't work for you. Perhaps instead of posting and trying to emulate smart/funny people you should focus more on other aspects of the game (petties, drugs). Or, maybe even take some of the wisdom I have just bestowed upon you and hit the marketplace and make some money slingin' singles! :D Just a suggestion. God bless. |

I enjoy reading posts where people attempt to attack my intelligence. It matters not that since the marketplace has begun I have made upward of 100 million from it, without using a single real life dollar. It matters not that in my first night alive here I made 2 million dollars from the market place, with no outside investments. |

That makes two of us.
Perhaps somebody who posts listings like that would care to come out and explain it to you. I already said it's not something I do personally, therefore I'm not overly passionate about defending the reasoning behind doing it. I'm just saying I can see a certain logic in letting a listing like that sit on marketplace. If that somehow makes me stupid in your eyes, I can live with that. shrugs Besides, I don't have time to explain it to you anyway because I have to rush down to the store. The local Wawa by me is having a sale on toilet paper 50 cents a roll. I need to go yell at the manager and tell him that the Sam's Club up the street is selling toilet paper in bulk at 80 cents a roll, so obviously he should smarten up and raise his prices to a dollar. |
