I have returned after a long while away but the last time i was here asking new players only couple of hours old to join your crew was frowned upon, sure offer help and support but if they want to join your family they will ask when i set up again this time i had eight invites from different people names will not be disclosed and messages are deleted therefore forgotten but still people should work hard to be allowed to join a family....

Am i wrong what are your thoughts on this 

This used to be a big topic of debate, and I thought the issue was resolved with member whoring being banned. Looking at the city rules I see now that there is no mention of member whoring anywhere. So I guess it's allowed again.

I thought the same thing but it is a shame  i remember all the hard work i had to put in before and now its as simple as being invited by a number of different people but i waited for friends to find me and bring me into there family were i am working hard and they already know me.

Well you can look at it from both sides, for example you have friends that invite you into their family. So you dont have to prove yourself anymore to get into a family. But what if you are fresh of the boat and never been here before? Inviting new ones and learning the art of MR might help keeping them returning. But thats my view on it.

By invites, do you mean messages offering you to join their crews

or just invites sent, without any form of communication?

Various people have differing views upon recruitment (funny that). However, as Ragnarok just asked, specifying between actual invitations sent sans communication, vs random messages sent from crew members can mean very different things. In fact, even initial messages themselves can be worded in completely different ways. Each family recruits differently, however I'm fairly positive that despite all the changes recently, blind invitiations are still not condoned.
