Alexandria: Behind the Wall Started by: Lolita on Feb 15, '18 20:02

Desperately grasping a bundle wrapped in dirty canvas, Lolita made her way down to the docks, keeping close to the protection of the building walls. Scrambling down the broken steps and carefully walking around bloody carcasses, she found the iron gate hidden in the shadows. Fumbling with a key, her gaze continued to watch the docks for any movement or sound. Pushing the heavy bars open, she quickly slammed it shut again and locked it with a sigh of relief. A little less paranoid, Lolita followed the tunnel for a few hundred feet, back on land and crossing what was once Delaware Avenue. Since the outbreak, only Philly's finest survived and remain in the city. Not the prep school business men and society bigwigs, no they were pretty much sitting ducks. The survivors were the elite, the real owners of the streets. Alexandria is where Lolita was heading, and their fortress was under Carpenter's Hall. She always smirked when thinking about the irony. The meeting place of America's First Continental Congress. Now it is an underground fortress for Philadelphia's only thriving community of survivors. Her US History teacher is probably rolling over in his grave. If he was lucky enough to have one.

On the street, the wooden shutters were broken and the old bricks beginning to crumble, but the flooring was reinforced with scavenged rebar and iron sheeting from the Navy Shipyard. The only entrance was hidden amongst the rotting ships and sewage-filled Delaware River. Even ole George Washington wouldn't have made it across these days. Rick's crew had created an underground safety zone that was as classy as it was functional. After following a maze of cold and damp tunnels, a huge iron door loomed in front of her. A knock alerted the guard and he peered out a square sliding opening and verified who she was. The door slowly screeched and slid into the wall, and Lolita slipped in and it closed just as loudly behind her. Grinning like an idiot, Lolita almost skipped down the hallway to the crew's lounge. This room had been furnished with mahogany wood paneling and woodwork stolen from the finest drinking establishments all over the city. A huge bar and mirror was in the centerpiece, taken from the Oyster House. Rick was leaning against the bar at the far corner, smoking a cigar with @Futurestealer and quietly giving commands and taking care of business. Even after the Walkers took the city, @Rick still ran the human side of things, life now being all about survival.

Boss! Boss! Look what I got!

Lolita ran over and pushed her way to the bar. The canvas wrapped package was carefully placed in front of Rick. Giving her a quick grin, he took off the canvas and tossed it behind the bar. Lolita smiled from ear to ear and nervously swayed as she stood in front of her boss.

What the bloody hell is this??? You went out there alone just to steal this??? Are you out of your mind? GET OUT! Get the hell outta my sight before I shoot you for your own protection! God damn new kids!

Her face fell and she nervously stuttered something unintelligible as she quickly grabbed the bottle of whiskey she had stolen from Brownie's Irish Pub earlier. Backing out of the room, still muttering, Lolita kicked the door open and headed for her own personal quarters.

Fine. He doesn't appreciate a good single malt, I'll drink it all myself.

Rick paused leaning against the bar he wondered if maybe he had acted too harsh and should of thanked Lolita for going out of her way to bring him a gift also he really wanted a glass of that single malt that she took.

He went after Lolita to apologise for the way he acted and caught up with her eventually

"Sorry i snapped, i just worry when people go out alone, come back to the bar, me and FutureStealer, stole a Pool table we are going to try out"

Rick went back to the bar where he and FutureStealer worked on setting up the newly acquired pool table, they of course did not need instructions they were men, but they were making a meal out of it and Rick blamed FutureStealer a lot.

"How hard can this be Future" He joked with him

"Your on your own you do, i give up!"

Rick made his way back to the bar to finish the cigar he had lit

Lolita was halfway through the bottle and tired of listening to Rick, FutureStealer and @Dr-X-111 argue about how to assemble the pool table. Hours had gone by and she assumed eventually they would realize that it was a skee ball machine, not a regulation pool table. No one seemed to notice that the balls were all white and much bigger than usual. Taking another swig, she wandered off to find Peter_Gotti.

Peter was in the kitchen carving up a fresh ham and slathering it with honey mustard on some  sourdough bread. Lolita wrinkled her nose. Ham sandwiches do not go well with whiskey. But she asked him some inane questions and mentioned how strong he was several times while leaning over the mustard jar just a little too  much. She wasn't sure the gleam in his eyes was due to her  cheesey flirting or if he really just loved ham. But she thought he was buttered up enough for her next question.

Hey Petie! Mind if I borrow your car keys? I feel like running over a few walkers. Whadda ya say?

Peter threw her the keys without blinking an eye and she scampered off towards the tunnels. No one needed to know stealing more single malt was also on her agenda.

Rick bored of watching FutureStealer and Dr-X-111 still trying to assemble the pool table, which now seemed like it was never going to be assembled went outside to get some fresh air and for a walk to the supply house to get more smokes.

Walking across the street he was startled as Lolita came racing past him in Peter_Gotti car. As she sped past him he wondered if his earlier conversation with her had gone noticed.

Rick ran back to the bar alerting FutureStealer and Dr-X-111 about what he had just happened he glanced at the half finished Pool table and smirked to himself, No time to continue laughing that the table only had 2 legs Rick grabbed his car keys and jumped into his car and raced out the tunnels after her, not before his quick stop at the supply house to grab the smokes he had just forgotten.
