Wacking the Competition Started by: Marie_Lucania on Feb 19, '18 01:13

Marie and Luca waited in an alley way down the street from the realtor's office.  Using a pair of binoculars Marie surveyed the situation.   "It looks like everyone has gone home," she spoke softly to Luca and handed him the glasses to look as well.  "This should be easy.  I bet a couple of locks, and maybe a safe and that track will be mine."  She wore a black shirt, black pants, and a black stocking cap.

She opened her bag and made sure all her lockpicking and safe cracking tools were inside; as well as, the replacement papers she had convinced her realtor draw up for her.  The plan was to break into the office switch the bid documents she had with the ones in the realtor's office.  The bids were suppose to be taken to the track in the morning at 8 am so Marie hoped no one would take the time to look at the papers again.  If they did not, than her competitor would end up making a low ball offer and Marie's would swoop in with a higher offer and win the bid.  It sounded perfect.  She waited to hear Luca's assessment.

Luca took the bino's from Marie and looked and saw no one in the building it was clear. Luca liked Marie's plan, It wouldn't have been his plan he would have just gone to the competitor and "convinced" them to withdraw their offer. This plan was less messy he had to admit. Breaking into the office and switching the offer would be a quiet way to deal with it.

"Looks clear. You brought your gear right?" Luca said to her

He could pick a lock and crack a safe but not like her. She could do it without leaving a trace that anything was wrong. They complimented each other and its what made them a great team.

"We go whenever you are ready"

Marie nodded that she had everything and then slipped the strap over her head.  With the bad secure against her side she peeked out from the alley and looked up and down the street to make sure there was no one there.  The good thing about this area, it was mostly office spaces so there was not a soul in sight at this time of night.

Marie began to jog with Luca down the street to the office.  Another quick glance around as she swung the bag off and lowered it and her to the ground while Luca kept a look out.  Pulling out a hair pin she set to working on the lock on the door.  Fast! Fast! Fast! Fast! she kept chanting through her mind as she worked to get them inside and off the street as quickly as possible.  It took her a couple of tries until finally she felt and heard the click.  "Yes," she quietly cheered and pushed the door open.  Luca held it partially open for her as she reached down to pick her bag up and then slipped inside with Luca right behind her.

Once Marie was in the door Luca followed her into the building. Once they were away from the windows they broke out the flashlights and made their way upstairs. Once they got there Marie made quick work of the lock on the office door and they were in. Once inside they started going through the files until they found the offers on the track. Marie went to work switching out the paperwork when Luca heard something in the hallway.

Luca signaled for Marie to hide behind the desk as he hid behind the door. He sees a flashlight through the opake window on the office door.

"Damn," Marie thought as she crouched down behind the desk.  Her informant she had paid handsomely had not said anything about there being a security guard.  What realtor needs a security guard?

She reached into her bag and pulled out her pistol and readied her flashlight.  If the person came through the door she was going to blind him with the flashlight long enough to distract and let Luca disarm them.

Luca had locked the door when they had came into the office. It was a habit for just a situation. He could deal with the guard if needed, but then people would know someone was in here and they didn't need that. He watched as the guard tried the door and when the guard noticed the door was still locked he walked down the hall.

After Luca was sure he was sure the guard was gone he signaled for Marie to finish what she was doing. Luca listened closely at the door to hear for the guard.

Marie moved the file down to the floor so that the flashlight would be blocked by the desk as she worked.  Quickly she finished switching the papers, put the file back exactly like she had found it, gathered her things making sure to check that nothing was being left behind, turned the flashlight off and then went to joined Luca at the door.

She nodded to him that she was ready.  She slipped the strap of the bag over her head and readied her pistol again just in case.

Luca led her down the back staircase and toward the exit. They had to duck and hide from the guard a couple times. He could have easily taken the guard out but that would have just defeated the purpose. They needed this to stay quiet so he restrained himself and they stayed low and headed out through the exit.

"Did you get everything switched out that you needed?" he asked her.

Marie laughed softly with excitement as they ran down the street and away from the office.  She always enjoyed a good heist or covert operation like the one they did tonight.  It gave her such a rush.  "Of course I did, oh ye of little faith."  She waited until they had rounded the corner and got out of eye sight before she threw herself at her husband to embrace him, nearly knocking both of them to the ground.   "We were amazing in there.  It was like I knew exactly what you were thinking in there and you knew what I was thinking."

Report Post Tip

"we are amazing together," he says embracing her.

Luca led them to the car and opened her door letting her in before they drove off and headed back to their place.

"so how long do you think it will take you to get it up and running once you win the bid?" he asked her

"A good deal will be decided on rather or not Don Rick agrees to be my partner.  The capital he can bring to the table I am sure could get us up and running fast.  On my own, it will be slower going as I work to continue to secure on going funding for remodeling and repair work.  The paint alone to refresh the look will cost a small fortunate."

"What we did tonight will help a lot.  Thank you."  She smiled and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.
