Wow that’s insane
Report Post Tip
That’s 10mill every 5 days to upkeep
Report Post Tip

Like the change with the insane amount free wack stat people can get quickly.

Any chance we can get a new BG tier list like when it was changed before or should the users just investigate themselves?  Don't mind either way just curious.

Report Post Tip

Yes, a very overdue change. Totally in favor of this.

How do you figure $10 mil for upkeep Satin?
Report Post Tip

Are the bastards useful for real? ^-^

Report Post Tip
guess if you want IWP -- out there to far for me....lol
Report Post Tip
Out of curiosity what was the purpose of this?
Report Post Tip

IWP is laughable. Been there done that and it means jack shit

Out of curiosity what was the purpose of this?

Bodyguards contribute towards defense and makes you harder to hit.

Adding additional bodyguards thus increases your defense and makes you harder to hit.

koromon, every time they make a change to the BG cap, it brings the cap close to being just shy of in line with the best guns in the game. keeps a balance

Report Post Tip

Cheers to the changes, rest in peace to my bank account.

To help clarify it's roughly 7 million to upkeep the new tier of bodyguards daily. I seen someone had mentioned it was 10.

I've loved this game and it's core mechanics for years now.  It's actually quite brilliant and due to this, my love of this game, I feel I need to comment.

The main problem with changes like this for the majority of people here is finding the money to afford the bodyguards to keep up with unbalanced wack stat progression.  At this point it is relatively easy to build a strong gun so long as you have the time and dedication to do so.  Unfortunately, money making potential has not increased realistically to keep up with this, especially when you get close to the upper ends of the BG cap.   I believe the costs in total to be around 350 million at this point with this change but I can't check at the moment and when you consider a 7 million dollar upkeep every 5 days on top of that, including other costs such as mayor taxes that have to be paid even if crew members don't pay taxes, ect, we have to realize that changes like this are bad for the game and have been bad for the game for a long while now.

Changes like this gradually throughout the years have been and are still driving away players of old and new players once they realize the core mechanics are no longer relative to being competitive on a single account without massive, unrealistic time investment.  As a result the game becomes populated by hard-core players and very few moderates.  Most of them don't stick around because they can't realistically compete and those that do aren't really that engaged with the game to begin with.

As a result of the state of things, wars don't really break out anymore; all we have are massacres because no one can afford adequate protection and how fun is that?

All of this is my opinion and I wanted to share it.  That is all.

Aye, BGs are used as a last resort when all your other methods to keep yourself alive fail.

Staying alive in this game comes down to a formula of making your killer realize you are better off alive than dead.  Once every one of those options is exhausted, then BGs are your last resort.

You don't need to be IWP, you need to be ensuring you are not on the receiving end of a bullet by proper networking and aligning yourself with the right people for the right reasons at the right time.

At 7 mill a week for full iwp, thats 15 credits a week.  Thats making a few posts and saying Hi! every now and then on irc, and boom, credits flood in.

Yes, for those who go out of their way to avoid being social, go out of their way to not post, go out of their way to not interact with people... then yes, 7 mill a week would be difficult to get if you actively try to avoid the free credits and benefits of the social interaction.

Does anyone know if this change has happened? It's been 10 days and it doesn't look like it.

Report Post Tip

Also, figured people would be curious about this. With this change it now costs:

1.2 million to upkeep 200 BGs daily, that's 6 million every 5 days.

34.875 million to buy 200 BGs, so 348.75 million to fully train all them;

Totaling 383.625 million to buy AND train those 200;

If you're further curious about how much of a change it was from 175 to 200 (context is love):

It used to be a total expenditure (buy+train everything) of 305.594 million, now being 383.625, it means 78.031 million dollars of difference.

Upkeep changed from 5.25 million to 6 (1.050M daily). So 750 thousand more every 5 days.

Goes back to manage his casino in Vegas.

It cost to be in the top and stay there!
