After leaving The Insomniac Lounge after having a brawl with a bunch of run-in Irish goons starting new in the world, he had left The Insomniacs' Headquarters after conducting business with a few associates. Obito's bodyguards followed him on the way to his home to protect him while he sleeps, or stay up; Eitherway, he had finally arrived to his apartment located out in the center of Brooklyn. He slapped the keys down on his desk and began to change out into comfortable sleepwear from the clothes out in his closet. He pulled a chair up to the closest window and sat down while kicking his feet up on the window sill, the night sky was shining through Obito's window which could oversee most of the street. Traffic was light and slow, a car or two pass up and down the street every hour or so; two cars stopped almost like a road rage incident as both drivers were shouting at each other with a busted headlight being slapped off one of the individual's vehicle, they had a fight out in the middle of the street but it wasn't up to Obito's interest as he knew the way it was gonna end; one gets knocked or shot because he couldn't handle being hit. He'll let the shouting and brawling solve itself, upon being ready to go to sleep; a loud bang was heard on his door. BANG! BANG! They weren't gunshots so Obito didn't have to rush for his weapon up under his pillow as he knew his bodyguards were safe and sound as he knew they would've kicked whoever it was out if they weren't familiar to them or to the man himself. He reached over for the handle and opened the door, he spotted Edward which is one of his personal yet trusted bodyguards. "We need to talk, boss. I looked into that Irish issue for you; the one related to the guys that attacked you at the Lounge?" Obito nodded. "Come in, come in. You seem like you were in a hurry and you know you didn't have to rush here if it wasn't an emergency, slow down, sit and have a drink." Edward waltzed inside of his apartment and shut the door behind him on his own. The man sat down on the bed instead of a normal chair, Obito didn't mind at all he came back with a couple glasses of scotch; the chair that was sat by his window sill was pulled over to meet Edward face to face; he sat down and nodded to Edward. "So what did you find?" Edward adjusted himself. "So, the guys that attacked you at the Lounge are related to a group called The Irish Connection. The man in charge of that whole fiasco is called Gregory, looks real ugly too and nothing to be worried about; the only thing that could run is a thought is who he has as connections but he seems disorganized with the amount of people that come in and out of this bar off the coast of Brooklyn off that one street near uh..." Edward snaps his fingers rapidly in an attempt to jog his memory. "Where that old store used to be, where you bought rope from for that one thing?" Obito nodded his head rapidly. "I remember, I remember. Do they come in and out of this bar, is it like their hangout spot?" "Yeah, boss. It's definitely the place, they have guards stationed out front at all times but I doubt you'll have much trouble; they don't hire the best or assign any better. I'm gonna leave you to sleep boss, see you in the morning." Edward drank down the glass of scotch and set it on the desk on his way out. He gave Obito a mutual nod before leaving the apartment, it left Obito to think about it, he needed to find Briya so he put on a fresh suit and left his apartment with his bodyguards right behind; upon reaching the outside of his apartment block he snapped his fingers and ordered the guard on his left to drive whilst the other opened the door for Obito and put him in the back. The last guy sat upfront on the way out and they were on their way. The night was gloomy and some people were still out, mostly drunkards that are a good group of friends being idiots, one of them fell on the way walking into the middle of the road; a half-smirk slapped across his face as they turned the corner and landed in front of the entrance to Headquarters after a ten minute drive, he stepped out and instructed them to wait outside for the time being with the engine off. Obito walked inside and walked up to Briya's office, knocking on the door four times, he waited in hopes that she was still in her office at this hour. |

It had been a long, interesting evening, but for whatever reason, Briya still wasn't tired. Having the cabbie drop her off at headquarters, she limped one-shoed into her office and dug her spare pair of heels out of her bottom desk drawer. With a last mournful gaze, she tossed the beer-splattered suede heel into the wastebasket, its partner having been tossed at the head of one of the ruffians who'd ruined them in the first place. Fetching some coffee of questionable age from the headquarters kitchenette, she trudged back to her small office and started in on a pile of paperwork that had been gathering dust on her desk. Within moments, she was bored out of her mind and doodling tiny daisies on the borders of a telegram she'd received back when ReignMan had gotten his auth. How long ago had THAT been? Geez, she really needed to clean up in here, she thought. A rap on the door jolted her out of her daze. Rather than call out, she chose to get up and answer the door. Anything to get away from the paperwork. Pulling the door open, she was surprised to see Obito standing there. They'd just parted ways a couple of hours before, Briya having left him to have a bit of fun with the ruffian who was too stupid to leave well enough alone. Running her eyes over Obito's frame, she saw no injuries; as expected, he'd taken care of business with no problems. "Well hey there! Still can't sleep? Wait, let me guess...you couldn't bear to be away from my charming company," she teased, pulling the door open wider and gesturing for him to come in. "There's coffee in the kitchen, but I question it's drinkability at this point. It tastes like burnt dirt," she said, making a face while taking a seat again. Another desk drawer revealed a bottle of Irish whisky along with two fresh glasses, and Obito's lengthy stare at the label had her frowning in concern. "What's up? Is there trouble?" she asked, quickly pouring two fingers into each glass and passing one over after Obito had taken a seat himself. |

Obito waltzed in with no issue. His stare always gave off concern, no matter where he was. "Yeah, you're right. I couldn't be away from such charming company and I still can't sleep, well, I could've been sleeping right now but Edward came to me with a lead on our ruffians from the lounge." Obito said as he fiddled with his drink in the seat, his eye contact couldn't remain the same. He dropped it every now and then to look at the ground then up at Briya again. "This group of ruffians seem to have a good amount of numbers, they call themselves The Irish Connection as far as it goes. The man in charge is called Gregory and they have a bar they use as a hangout spot off out here in Brooklyn near a closed down shop where I used to buy rope from. It's like a thirty minute drive from here, about an hour." Obito took a sip from the glass of Irish whiskey, the irony, right? "With that being said, I want to take on that offer of a date with a job added onto a placement if you wanna make this night go to an end in a fun way, you might just enjoy it. Oh, I forgot to mention that Edward told me they station two guards outside of this bar's entrance the whole but he assured me they shouldn't be much to worry about since he told they were not very skilled in what they do." "I want to sleep. But I can't do this with on my mind when we have the advantage, they won't be expecting it." Obito finished off the last of his drink and set it down on her desk, he stood up and held his hand out respectfully. "Care to join me?" |

"Well how can I say no to a fun-filled evening of violence and mayhem?" She grinned, accepting the offered hand and standing. Halfway to the door, she stopped and returned to her desk, pulling out yet another drawer. This one meant business...multiple knives, guns, and boxes of ammunition were stuffed inside. There was even a hand grenade in there, but Briya couldn't quite remember how she'd acquired it. It was entirely possible that one of the crew had stuck it in there as a perverse joke. Obito looked confident enough, but Briya wanted all the reassurances that she could get, and started shoving various weapons into her coat pockets and holsters. She assumed that if Obito needed more than he was currently carrying, he would simply hit the arsenal on the way out. Her second attempt to leave the room had her stopping once more to go back for the hand grenade. You just never knew. Joined in the hallway by two of their hired men, the foursome left the headquarters and, with Obito's man driving, headed to The Irish Connection's stomping grounds across town, near the waterfront. A light fog descended as they neared the water, and Briya glanced at her watch. Three in the morning. The Devil's Hour. Edward's information had been on point; two wise guys slouched against the wall outside the bar. Telltale bulges in their cheap suits told exactly where their guns rested, and Briya shook her head at the sloppiness of it all. Given the element of surprise, she could probably take these two out by herself, but there was no way of knowing just how many more might flood out he door right after. The car had come to a stop half a block away, headlights extinguished long before they'd arrived. Four silent figures inside checked and readied their weapons, then quietly exited the car and slipped into the shadows. No real preparation was necessary; get in, eliminate the threat, get out. Gregory and his band of mishaps seemed harmless enough, but word of the evening's deaths earlier did not need to spread to any powerful connections they may have. Before Obito and Briya even got close to the door, their men had already moved ahead and dispatched the two outside. Skulls met concrete in two meaty thuds, and down they went. Just as the four fell into a sort of formation before moving inside, Briya turned to Obito. "When this is over, you'll have to tell me why you needed rope," she grinned. |

"I thought you'd never ask to be honest." Obito grinned before taking a hand on his gun, he slid it out of his jacket and let it rest by his thigh, maybe they didn't even hear their entrance being disturbed, to his sight when opening the door; it was empty but there a door that lead down to a basement and it was cracked open which means they were probably in a meeting. The distinct shouting made it very obvious, his glare returned back to the rest of the group. "They're having a meeting downstairs. We have the silent approach this time." Obito waved with his pistol to move forward. Obito just waltzed through the rest of the bar and looked at how a mess it was. There was bottles scattered all over the place and spills on the tables along with food crumbs, you'd think some Irish people who want to move up in the world would have some decency to clean up after themselves or assign people to do it for them. But that was left to them, it wouldn't matter much since they were close to being just enough dead anyway. Several different people were talking down below and it sounded louder as the group approached, maybe it was a poker game but then you'd think someone would crack a joke every once in a while. Briya and Obito along with the rest of their guards proceeded slowly down the staircase only to be met with a long corridor ahead with a door slightly cracked open and someone using the bathroom around the corner. "I got it." Obito volunteered, the man decided to come in the right as he slammed the handle of the pistol right on the back of the man's head. WACK! The man was about to hit the floor before Obito grabbed him by the shirt, I doubt someone hitting the floor would make tons of noise but he didn't wanna risk it with that much attention up ahead, only god knows what lays in the room and who knows if they have more guards ahead, another voice came from a second room up ahead. "Go check if he fell in the damn toilet again, fucking Angus." "Yeah, sure." A hoodlum ran out right towards where the group was heading, the bulge of the gun was obvious and the man's eyes widen before him as he reached for his gun, it was time to make some noise. Obito aimed his gun and fired, the bullet hitting a solid trajectory to the man's eye as he collapsed on the floor, that just caught the attention of everyone else. "Get the guns! They're here!" The sounds of people arming up were obvious, two more guys ran out of the room where the hoodlum just came out of, Obito slid over to a wall just next to the group and left for them to use the bathroom for cover, the group returned fire and watched as the bullets hit the concrete and skid across metal, Obito peeked out of cover every now and then and managed to shoot someone in the chest twice just running out from the room where a poker game was being done, the sound of a table being flipped down to be used as cover was heard and more fire came from the room; this would make for a deadly news headline. Obito's guards managed to dispatch two more as they came storming out of the room, they didn't care about tactics or strategy rather than going guns blazing; it was easy. There was still a couple left at the end of the corridor taking cover by the door. A big, bulky man came out of the room at the end of the corridor with a shotgun. He aimed it for Obito's position and fired shells, one of them actually hitting Obito in the shoulder as he fell back with a groan. "Fuck me!" The shootout continued, Briya happened to shoot someone advancing on the group's position precisely, Obito however needed to take the time to recover for a few minutes before getting back into the fight. |

Out of the corner of her eye, Briya saw Obito jerk backwards, but the shout that followed assured her that it wasn't a critical shot. They'd been grossly outnumbered, but the odds began to fall back into their favor as Briya dropped two and managed to wing the guy wielding the shotgun. Back around the corner for safety, she quickly reloaded as the two bodyguards held the remaining Connection members back, all of whom were now holed up in one room. All but the large man in the hallway, that is. As Briya prepared to take aim again, she spared a glance across the hall at Obito, who was reloading his own weapon, albeit more slowly than before. Just as she was turning back to focus on the firefight, the bodyguard in the hallway between them took a hit center mass and fell to the floor, eyes already glazing over. The driver, from earlier. Briya crouched down and reached around the corner, firing three shots in anger. A satisfying choking sound reached her ringing ears; a lucky shot. Peeking around the corner, she saw another body slumped to the ground, this one with a messy gape in its neck, arterial spray painting the walls in an arc beside him. There was no way to know how many were left in the room now, and the beast in the hallway was now reloading. Obito smiled, those seconds were all he needed to raise his gun and fire, placing a single, smoking hole in the man's forehead. Silence descended, but there was no rest for the wicked. Obito, Briya, and the remaining bodyguard rushed the room at the end of the hall, hoping their bullets outnumbered the figures inside. |

It was a shame, the driver that got gunned down was a trusted one, Joey. Obito couldn't focus on him now, he would need to be given a proper burial later on, with the rush of going down the rest of the corridor to the last room, there were bullets, blood and bodies everywhere. It looked like a complete massacre only to leave everyone almost tired, bloody and their clothes almost just as tarnished. Obito had blood all over his face and his hand, the gun shot that nicked his shoulder had the blood soaking into his suit. A man tried to protect this leader Gregory by trying to rush the group with a huge knife, a bullet entered his forehead before he could even raise it; Obito's gun barrel had smoke coming out of it at this point and it was hot. The man got launched back in front of Gregory who was got shocked as soon the group entered the room, the man fell back in his chair and he decided to crawl up and make a run for the backdoor, his minute of running didn't last long as he received a bullet to the back of the kneecap as he fell down on the dusty floor with a yelp. He stood at the mercy of the last standing bodyguard, Briya and Obito. Obito walked around the man before shooting him in succession one at a time in the back. "One for sending those people to cause problems with me and my beautiful friend here." BANG! One entered his back, he kept his barrel aimed at the man's back and each time one entered he would yelp and plead mercy; Not very favorful for someone who runned a group of disorganized goons, "Two for killing my trusted driver." A second bullet was entered in the man's back and finally, but not least, "Three for fucking with a Godfather's crew." The final bullet was sent into the man's back, he was dead by the time it penetrated his spine. Obito finally let out another groan, the shot that nicked his shoulder wasn't being the best of friends of him with him right now, making it stiff didn't help. He kept trying to stretch it out but every time he moved it felt sore and only shouted pain, not relief. Gregory was no longer a leader, just tarnished history. "I don't think he told anyone important. But his crew is big, there's still important people that he trusted as advisors and they are not gonna be happy to hear that's he dead, we left no witnesses but who knows what witnessed what went down, probably someone we would've never expected." Obito snapped his fingers with his good arm and motioned over to the last standing bodyguard. "Get the car ready, we need to leave." Obito finally turned over to Briya, "Can I put my arm on you? It's straining me out slowly. You know, if you don't mind of course..." Obito gave her a half-smirk, he tried to stay optimistic even with what happened. It was just the two at them at that point, probably exhausted, bloody, and with hot weapons in their possession. Almost like the ending to one of those films, only there's more before you can officially end it an ending, time past when the whole situation went down and it was almost dawn. |

"Yes, of course," Briya replied, lifting Obito's good arm and placing it across her shoulders. Slowly stepping over bodies and coagulating pools of blood, they made their way down the hallway and into the breaking light of day. Had it not been for the bloodstains splattered across their clothing, and Obito's second shredded shirt of the evening, the untrained observer might have mistaken the pair for a lovestruck couple exiting a movie theater, or two drunks after last call. "Are any of your men medics?" Briya asked, her eyes scanning the area as they left the building and worked their way over to the car, where the bodyguard stood waiting with the back door open and the engine running. She felt exposed, out here in the daytime. Anyone around would know them now, know their faces. "If not, we'll get you back to headquarters. I have a guy who's pretty decent in a pinch, but Insomnia's guy is obviously the best," she continued, helping Obito into the backseat. She considered sitting up front, then dismissed the thought and slid in next to him. She couldn't actually see the wound, but the spread of blood soaking his suit had her worried. She began to worry even more when he pressed his weight against her. What do you do to a shoulder wound? Pressure? If there was arterial damage, though...could she accidentally push shotgun pellets further in and cause more damage? She tried to study Obito with a clear head...was he paler than before? "Can you please hurry?" She asked the driver, trying not to panic. Looking for a distraction to keep Obito awake and alert, she leaned back into him, whispering in his ear. "All this over a goddamn foosball. Oh, and you still haven't explained the rope..." |

Obito groaned just trying to take his jacket off, there was big blood spot right in his right shoulder. Obito felt weaker than when we exited the now, shot-up place. When Briya mentioned the rope and the thought of the foosball leading this to what it started out as, he gave her a quiet laugh. "The rope, huh? Well, I had to get rope for a snatch and grab job that was assigned to me back when I was just a Made Man, the Capo who gave me the assignment; well, he was serious. Guy must've really pissed him off, so we got what we needed and went out to grab the guy; when we found him we basically dragged him into the car and brought him back to an abandoned warehouse and I tied him up in a chair. Of course, me being the guy in charge of the whole operation as per usual because my backup was Wise Guys trying to hustle to make it up in the world. I beat the guy and he gave me what I want, maybe my punches really hurt." "I need to stop getting shot. All that over a fucking foosball, still, I would've considered this a fun date right?" Obito winked but he really wasn't in the best of moods. The driver hurried back to his apartment rather than headquarters, Edward was waiting right outside of the complex surprisingly, he was shocked to see Obito in such a condition. "Jesus christ, my guess is you guys finished business?" Edward helped Obito get out of the vehicle and escorted them up towards his apartment. "The thing you should about my main man here, Briya, he has some skills; medically anyway." By the time they went up to their apartment, they shut the door behind everyone that went in and Edward sat Obito down on his bed; he had to assist him in taking his shirt off which left him shirtless. Edward dug over for a kit in the next room and brought a chair over, when he opened the kit it had medicine and antibiotics, he even gave Obito a bottle of scotch. "Drink, you're gonna need it." Obito grabbed the bottle and took a big swig, they had to do some hospital-technique right in their apartment and Edward got to work on taking care of the pellets that were lodged inside of his shoulder. Silence echoed in the meantime, only for a minute, Obito had to put a grip on something as all of his muscles tensed up with the pellet removal, the alcohol was helping to an extent. Overtime, it made Obito more relaxed and closed to being knocked out. Edward set the tools down and began disinfecting the wound and then wrapping the area with bandages, it was a messy job but it was done, he walked out with his kit and told the other guards to follow. "I'll be back in a few hours to check on him, you're welcome to leave at anytime miss." As polite as he was, he exited the apartment and closed the door. The duo were a wreck, the job was completed but at the cost of death from their side and a injured individual. Obito laid back with him adjusting himself on the bed every now and then. |

Briya had watched Edward work, standing at the back of the room with her arms wrapped around herself as pellet after pellet came out of Obito's shoulder and fell to the carpet below. Every moment that passed had her feeling more guilty; this was her fault that he was full of holes. Her poor aim at a silly table game had brought them here. After Edward departed, she continued to stand there. It felt wrong to leave, even though Obito appeared to be falling into sleep with the help of the booze. Leaning down, she swept his hair aside and kissed him on the forehead. "I'm sorry I got you into this mess. Get some rest, I'll be here if you need anything," she said quietly, then took a seat in a chair nearby and picked up a magazine. As she flipped through the pages, though, the words began to swim around. Twenty-four hours without sleep took their toll, and moments later, she herself fell asleep, only to dream about Irish whisky and the sound of shotgun shells hitting the floor. *** |

Morning. Obito blinked and woke up quickly like if he was just at the aftermath of a nightmare. He adjusted himself to sit on the edge of the bed and place his head in his hands; he had a raging headache from the night before and the pellets on the floor only just dignify the beginning part of it, feeling like his mind was being very clouded. He stared at the right shoulder and decided to give it a stretch, only to let out a loud crack. Briya was sound asleep out in the chair with a magazine dropped on her lap, the mood wasn't very fortunate for him but he let out a smile regardless, "One hell of a woman." He said quietly, Obito walked over to the window and stared outside to the busy street as he put on a shirt. He went into the kitchen to make himself coffee, dragging out two cups from the cabinet and waiting a while for the coffee to be brewed up. Not only that but he decided to make toast and eggs, the kitchen just became his playground at the point. He let the oven run with the pan on top while the most noise you could hear was the egg sizzling in the background, Obito went to the bedroom and back to grab a book and it set it on the counter besides the oven, skimming through past notes on previous jobs that he made. Each job had detail to it and while he really was making some amount of noise; he didn't want to wake Briya from her slumber but it was probably evident it was going to happen anyway. He kept busy, for now. |

Jolting awake, Briya sat bolt upright and looked around the room a bit frantically. Where the hell was she? The smell of cooking food calmed her a bit...obviously she wasn't in immediate danger if someone felt it more important to tend to breakfast. Her eyes eventually landed on Obito, who was busy near the stove. His stiff movements brought her around fully; he'd been shot just hours before by the Irish crew. Practically leaping out of the chair, she hurried over to the stove as she hastily ran her hands through her hair. "Why didn't you wake me? I would have done this for you," she chastised as she lifted the brewed pot of coffee and poured out two cups while he continued cooking the eggs. Reaching for the toast, she plated it and went to the refrigerator for butter. "I'm not sure what we should do at this point," she said, opening a drawer and finding a butter knife. "Do we tell Insomnia about this? Shit, he probably already knows, since it happened in his place. But do you think there will be repercussions? I didn't see anybody when we came out, but God only knows who saw what, and how fast and far the news may have travelled," she said, stabbing the knife into the butter. "How are you feeling, by the way? That Edward of yours, he really knows his stuff. And he's obviously very dedicated to his boss," she smiled, remembering the care and proficiency with which Obito's wound had been treated. "I'd hang onto that one...hell, I'd give him a big 'ol raise," she laughed. Bill, her own personal bodyguard and driver, could have dug a bullet out of Briya no problem, but it would have been ugly and painful. |

"I didn't wanna wake you, personally. I figured you needed the sleep after last night, least I could do was make you breakfast. Insomnia knows I took care of business so it wouldn't hurt anyone, they didn't have any deep connections with anyone besides a few local dealers out there on the streets to get their drug supply coordinated and as far guns go? Probably had some guys for that too." Obito was getting the plates out, the eggs were done and he had them set on two separate plates, he walked over to the table and set the plates down, taking the seat closest to the window where the light shined on his back. "Edward definitely gets good pay at it is. But he's not in this for the money, me and him grew up together and when he saw how fucked the world is; he wouldn't blame for being what I am now; He had a saying, and I quote "If you decide to go down that route? I'll be with you every step of the way." And here we are, loyalty is a word used loosely but the bond me and that guy have, it's like a chain that can never be broken no matter how many times you bang or shoot at it. That's a fact." Obito rested his hands on the table while giving Briya a concerning stare. "I need to ask you something, do you blame yourself for what happened to me?" |

Briya followed him to the table, then sat and picked up a wedge of toast. Absently poking at the eggs with it while she listened, she smile as Obito spoke of Edward. She understood that kind of loyalty. You didn't find it often, but when you did, you took great care of it. She thought about Maddix, and all the shit they'd been through, and realized then that Obito was also quickly becoming another of the rare few who felt like the family she left behind when she decided to work on the wrong side of the law. And he cooked! Taking a bite of the toast, she nodded. "If you think things are over, or at least under control, then I'll trust your judgement. If you see or hear anything, though, promise you'll let me know? Because yes, I do feel like this is my fault. I mean, it's not like I meant to start a small war, but I certainly triggered one. Bad aim and all, thank God I can fire a gun better than a foosball, eh?" She winked. Obito looked much better this morning; his color had returned, he looked rested, and he had an appetite. She fully intended to buy him a whole closet full of nice shirts, first chance she got. |

Obito ate after he finished saying what he needed to say, then he looked up at Briya for a moment. "I promise I'll let you know, and you don't need to worry, don't put the blame on yourself because I got hurt. If anything, I'm the reason we started the small war, had I not thrown the foosball in the guy's drink for another time we wouldn't have gotten in the fight then it lead to them coming back. I'm the one who decided to make the move on their hangout spot. Listen, I like you, and I'm not just saying that for the sake of the mood." Obito's face practically flushed itself after he admitted what he had stored inside for days. "You held your own back there for me and the guy's who came along, from the Lounge until now. Someone else would've left me to wake up in my apartment alone but you stayed out of all people." Obito intended on making up for the night the guy splashed his drink all over her clothes. Her heels were ruined and he had to set out to go find the finest pair in town whenever he had the chance. Obito gave her a smile but inside his heart was flushing in and out, was it from being extremely nervous? Fear? He couldn't find out, his expression was capable of making itself obvious. "Did you have a job in mind now that mine is completely done? Sorry for not asking earlier." |

Briya covered her mouth with a napkin to hide her grin; it was difficult to smile when you had a mouthful of eggs. Once she swallowed, she was able to speak. "I do, actually. I need a gem connection. The only one I've got is drying up. There's a lab out west that I'm looking into, they can maybe create some decent simulated stuff, but I want the real deal, you know? I've asked around, but I keep hitting dead ends. All I can think to do in the meantime is maybe knock over a wholesaler. Like intercepting a large shipment before it even makes it all the way into the city, something coming by boat or plane? I'm not sure yet. "But first, we get you completely healed. I've got enough stock in my store to keep me going for a little while longer, so there's no rush," she assured him, then stood and cleared the table of the empty plates. When she returned from the sink, Obito had stood. "I should get going. Thank you for breakfast...call me if you need anything, alright?" She asked, reaching out to touch him on the shoulder, then realized her mistake. Instead, she gave him a gentle hug before making her way to the door. |

"I will, don't you worry. I’ll be healed up in no time, maybe I can talk around to a few street informants out there and see what they have and If I get a lead then you'll be the first to know. Thank you for staying again, see you soon." Obito seemed moody as she was on the way out, she had already exited the apartment, taking her place then Edward stepped in the apartment with a nod and a gentle smile on his face after seeing Obito better than the last time he came in. Obito gestured over for him to sit down in the kitchen and prepared him another plate of eggs and toast, the plate got placed down on the table and Edward began to ate but he paused with his fork in his hand. "Hope you're feeling better, boss. I’m sure the lady took care of you when I left, anyhow I’m gonna assure you that no one really found out but the attack is justified and they only had connections that weren't very reliable but they were lucky, most of the shipments for the things they ordered came in sometime after they ordered it. They kept a log of what they had, weapons and an income of drugs; specifically with opium and barbiturates, small stuff and things that can get sold within the week. Police are all over the bar this morning, closed it down and put up a perimeter even with the bodies. Agents on the payroll won't bother investigating." Edward spoke in a reassuring tone then he started eating what was on the plate. Obito nodded casually during the view of events Edward was busy explaining, then Obito leaned forward with a calm expression on his face. "Listen, Briya wanted to find a new shipment of gems and maybe a supplier that's solid and can stay in time with the ordered shipments. I need you to look around and tell me what you find, would really be a big help. I also need you to go heel shopping, get her the nicest heels in town and make sure you deliver them to her as soon as you get them. I’m gonna insist I stay in bed in the meantime and keep myself occupied." Edward nodded along, he was done eating and left the plate nearby so Obito can wash it later on; Edward left the apartment and went out to go do what he was assigned, he drove out to a real famous and new store which was provided to get the best clothes and or shoes. There was a wide array and he didn’t even know what to pick, woman’s fashion was just a big question mark to him. There was these white and black ones on display and then these elegant, yellow-tanned heels that could spark a crowd. Edward cashed out all three as he discussed with the cashier, it was expensive but the job was done and they were placed in three different bags and drove out to Headquarters, whether or not he found Briya there was the question. He knocked on her office door three times and waited. |

Briya came down the hallway of headquarters with a Sak's Fifth Avenue bag looped over her arm; Lord and Taylor was where she usually shopped for her things, but she in no way wanted to appear cheap when picking out half a dozen designer dress shirts for Obito. She had no idea what his exact measurements were, but she had a decent eye for these things, and the hug she'd given him earlier had helped towards that end. Smiling at the memory, she nearly bumped into Edward standing at her office door. "Edward! Good to see you," she smiled. The smile melted away into a look of concern. "Where's Obito? Is he alright?" She asked, unlocking the door and placing her things on the desk before turning back towards Obito's man. "He looked alright when I left. I shouldn't have left," she continued, worried now as she dug around in her purse for her cigarettes and waited for Edward to fill her in on the situation. |

"You worry too much, miss." Edward raised up the bags that had a diamond logo on it, he placed the bags on the top of her desk. "He wanted me to get you these, consider it a gift from him and not from me. He's safe and sound and insisted I go ahead and take care of business for him while he's recovering, but you know him; there's nothing stopping him, you get shot once and he's like a wound that doesn't open. He's like the man with an Iron Heart." Edward gestured while he spoke, he decided to continue standing but gave her a smile. "I see you got more bags, who are they for?" Edward motioned over to the Fifth Avenue bag. He knew what the store was but he didn't know specifically if she got them for someone else. It's like a major designer exchange in the office, Edward walked over behind one of the chairs and rested his palms on the chair. "Oh yeah, I also looked into this whole Irish deal and you shouldn't receive any blow back, I took it up to the Godfather and he stated he had no problem with it so long as the opposing forces attack first, then you will be considered a defending power. Of course that also goes in if they disrupt our way of business, life and so forth. They didn't have any major connections besides a couple local underground suppliers that could keep them rolling with their drug flow, opium and barbiturates which are highly addictive mind you and then another supplier for their weaponry which is why you guys had to deal with so many of them being armed when you went over to go hit the bar. Obito told me all about it." Edward adjusted his posture. "I'm also gonna be looking into your gem connection deals. I have no hits yet but I need to go talk to Obito's local informants and see what I can dig up, you'll be the first to know if I get any hits. How have you been?" |

Briya relaxed as Edward spoke; not worrying was easier said than done, though. Obito held a special place now, she'd always worry. "Okay. Okay, that's good. I imagine with whatever medical training you've had, you'll make sure he doesn't do anything crazy for a while to agitate that shoulder. And I'm very happy to hear the Irish won't be hasseling us any further. I know Insomnia knows the gist, but if he knew it all started over a foosball in his lounge...well, hell, I might lose my job," she chuckled while shaking her head over the ridiculousness of it. "Thank you for looking into the gems for me. I don't want to lose my shop, but if I don't find at least a large supply in the near future, I'm afraid I'm sunk," she said, her eyes landing on the shopping bags on her desk. "Looks like we've both been shopping," she remarked, reaching into the first bag. Inside the box within were a beautiful pair of Ferragamo heels in a buttercream color. "Oh. I need to sit down," she sighed, holding the shoes as if they were a small child. She'd heard about the Italian designer, but didn't own any of his shoes. Looking at the contents of the other two bags, she saw two other pairs...one in black, one in white. "I don't know what to say. This is beyond thoughtful. I'll have to find a way to repay him," she said, looking up at Edward. "Pretty awful, isn't it? Shopping for women? You did an outstanding job, thank you so much," grinned. "That bag there is my return gift. I hope the shirts fit, but if they don't, or the colors are wrong, I can exchange them. Hopefully I gauged hus size correctly. I only groped him a little bit," she winked. |
