Lucky had been traveling for the family collecting on money owed to Luca before he was killed. It had taken him a few days and some work to get it done but he made it back home to LA and finds out that the boss had been shot. Lucky took no time at all in finding out what the hell happened. After talking to the family, and cussing some of them out for letting it happened, he found out that she had gone out on an art heist and caught a graze protecting a family member. The part that disturbed him is he found out she did not vest up she went out with no body armor.

Lucky had enough of this, she is the boss and she needs to get her head in the game, and it was time for someone to step up help her get past this rough time and he decided to be the one to do it, even if that means he gets shot in the process.

Lucky headed out and picked up a fifth of gin and a fifth of whiskey for himself. He grabbed a couple of glasses before heading back to the bosses office. He walked into the office and closed the door and locked it behind him. He walked over to the bosses desk and set the bottles and glass down before sitting across from her.

"Boss we have to talk and we are not stopping till these bottles are empty and we are drunk," he says pouring to drinks.

Report Post Tip

Marie looked up from the desk and watched as Lucky locked the door to her office.  She glanced to his hands to see the bottles and glasses.  Finally her eyes went back to meet his.  She leaned back into her chair and winced slightly as the movement caused a bit of pain to shoot up her left arm.  The doctor had just left a few minutes ago having patched her up.

"What kind of conversation requires you to lock my door?"

Report Post Tip

"The kind that requires privacy and no interruptions," he says passing her a glass.

Lucky sits back takes a drink from his glass. He pulls out a cigarette and lights it. Lucky takes a couple of puffs before taking another drink of his whiskey. He then looks at her arm.

"So does it hurt much?" he asked her

Report Post Tip

Marie looks down at her left arm, "Not much.  It was barely a scratch." She picked up her glass and held it in her right hand looking at him.  "Not really worth all the hoop la I have been getting from everybody."  She studied him a long, quite moment and then she lifted her drink to her lips and took a sip.  She was content to let him lead this conversation as it was apparently the boy had a bone and was not about to let loose of it.

Report Post Tip

Lucky could tell that this was going to take some work. She was not going to open up easily nor was she going to make this easy for him, but he was not going to give up. They were going to sit here get drunk and start to move past all this.

"Hoopla!!" he says

"You get all the Hoopla because your the boss and we care about you," he says to her before taking a drag of your cigarette.

"How did you get shot?" he asks knowing the answer

Lucky finishes his drink and refills it before grabbing the gin bottle and looking at Marie

Report Post Tip

Marie extended her arm to let him refill her glass.  "The scumbag had a gun pointed at AlexaBliss' head so I jumped him.  His gun went off as we both tumbled to the ground and the bullet grazed my arm."  She told it all rather matter-of-factly.  She lifted the glass to her lips, but added before taking a drink.  "It is my job to protect ever member of this family."  She drank the whole glass down in one shot.

Report Post Tip

Lucky finish his drink in one shot and refills both glasses. He looks at Marie.

"What would have happened had that graze hit you in the chest?" he says looking at her knowingly.

"Why in the hell would you not wear a vest?" he asks her point blank

Lucky finishes his drink and refills it then grabs the gin bottle. He knew she would understand they were not social drinking.

Report Post Tip

Marie's face registered the anger that was rising within her.  "A vest gets in the way and it impedes motion."  She sat the glass down heavily on the desk and leaned back.  It was obvious that he was heading into dangerous territory with her.

Report Post Tip

Lucky angrily finished his drink and refilled both glasses.

"A vest impedes!" he says angrily

"A Vest SAVES YOUR LIFE"

"It keeps you alive, everytime you go out on a job your life is at risk and you shouldn't be doing it, but since you are going to keep doing it wear the damn vest and that's how you help keep your guys alive. If they know you don't have one on they are going to do stupid things to keep you safe," he says before finishing his drink and refilling it.

"Do you have a fucking death wish?" he asks her knowing he is pushing it but not caring.

Report Post Tip

As he spoke her anger burned hotter.  His words were true and she knew it.  It fueled the burning fury within her.  She was about to release all her fury upon the man when his last statement hit her like a punch to the gut.  Instantly her eyes glistened up and she broke.  Just a crack, but it was there.  Angrily she swiped her good arm across her eyes and then reached for the glass knocking it back in one drink.  Quietly, yet forcefully, she spoke as she stared at the now empty glass, "Get the hell out of here."

Report Post Tip

Lucky refills both glasses watching the subtle changes in her deminer. Now he knew he was going to have to push and this is where he was glad he wore his vest.

"I told you we are not done till we are done with the booze and drunk as hell," he said before downing his drink then refilling it.

He sits back and finishes his cigarette before putting it out

"Why are you being reckless and taking unneeded chances? Is it because of Luca?" he asks her again knowing the answer

Report Post Tip

With an eerie calmness she sat the empty glass down on the desk and rose from her chair.  She walked out from behind her desk and to the door to leave.

Report Post Tip

"No, you do not get to leave. This is why I am here. We both need this and so does the family. They can see you taking these risks and they need to know you are ok and good to go." he said

"Other than you I was his closest friend and I know you being reckless is not what he would want from you. He died to keep you and the rest of the family would be safe," he says knowing he is pushing his luck

"Now come back and sit down and lets drink to Luca," he says pouring a drink for both of them.

Report Post Tip

With her hand on the door she closed her eyes and desperately tried to gather the crumbling wall she had built and push it back into place.  She did not want to cry in front of her men, but she was unable to stop it. Her body shuttered in her nearly silent sobs.  Drawing a ragged breathe she suddenly slammed both her fists against the door.  "Why?!?" she cried out the dam breaking and her sobs were no longer silent.  "Why did he leave me?  I don't know how to live with out him!"

Report Post Tip

Lucky walks over to her and hugs her.

"We go on by going on. He did his job for this family and for you. That's how you go on by remembering that. He didn't give his life for you to recklessly throw away yours." he says hugging her.

"you get this out here just the two of us. They all know you are hurting but they don't need to see it, " he tells her.

Report Post Tip

She had been so alone these last few days and to cope she had threw herself into her work and into building her crew.  She closed her eyes and wept.  She could feel Luca's arms wrapped around her, holding her and comforting her in her hour of grief and she fiercely held onto him not wanting him to every leave her again.

Report Post Tip

Lucky held her tight and let her weep into his arms. She needed to get passed this and use it to build her strength, which she will need as a leader.

After a long time, he leads her back to the desk and their awaiting drinks.

He grabs his glass and raises it.

"To Luca," he says

Report Post Tip

She cried until there were no more tears.  In their place was just a numbness now.   She thought the alcohol was helping in that regards.  Picking up her glass she raised it in salute.  "To Luca."  With  those words she threw her head back and down the drink completely.  Then she unexpectedly threw the glass against the wall, shattering it.  Picking up the bottle she threw her head back and started to down it too.

Report Post Tip

Lucky smiled when she gave up on the glass, now they were getting somewhere. He downed his glass and threw against the same wall and grabbed the bottle.

The two of them chatted but mostly just drank and drank. It was a chance for them both to deal with the loss, move on and also to bond with one another. Lucky knew it was his job to watch out for her with the loss of Luca and he wanted to make sure she could move on and that she knew she had a friend if she ever needed one.

After hours of drinking and an additional bottles of booze being brought it neither of them were in any shape to do... well anything. Lucky helped Marie to the couch in her office then he stumbled his way to Luca's old office and passed out on the couch in there.

He hoped that tonight helped her and would keep her from being reckless but only time would tell.
