| The Holy Temple Of Diogenis | Started by: Serana on Mar 14, '18 21:49 |

Serana had finally finished putting the finishing touches on her building. It had taken months of planning and construction but in the middle of Detroit, like a regal palace was standing her finest creation. The Temple of Diogenis, a place to pay homage to the great God of Detroit AKA Detroitgenis. The religion of Diogenisanity was relatively new but Serana was a devout follower and believed that only through true belief in Diogenis could she finally see the plan destiny had for her and she would learn "Da way". Diogenis rewarded his followers with wealth and gyros and the temple now stood as a beacon for all those who wanted to find "Da true way" and enlightenment. Serana now walked forward and went to the podium to speak before officially opening the crown jewel of Detroit. "Today, my brothers and sisters, we welcome our Lord and Savior Diogenis into our lives and hearts. We hope he sees this temple built in his name as the first of many offerings to the great deity that will give us great wealth and many gyros. So, without further ado, I proudly open The Temple of Diogenis where you may confess your sins and go to services daily."
A sign next to the door read:Morning services: Daily 7:30 amEvening Services: Daily 6:30 pmConfessional: Drop in to see a priest of Diogenisanity.Holiday services will be posted |

Freeman had heard some sort of place of worship was built for a member of his and he had to see it for himself. He couldn't believe, it felt like a dream or a nightmare depending on your view on Diogenis. He approached the front door to find a heavy metal chain wrapped around the double doors with a black padlock weighing the chains down. Freeman looked to the side to find a note; seems they were closed for the day. Before leaving he noticed a drop box for donations. He pondered for a bit before deciding why not. Freeman reached into his coat pocket and retrieved a small roll of twenties. He unrolled one of the twenties and placed it in the donation box. "I feel like I'm being watched." said Freeman as he walked away in a bit of a hurry. |

Serana walks up next to the prophet known as Freeman, he was a special man in the religion of Diogenisanity for he foretold the coming of our Lord.
"Prophet Freeman it is such an honor to meet a man of faith like yourself, you were the one who spoke of the arrival of our Savior Diogenis and we are all being watched by his grace as he looks after us and gives us our reward in Gyros" |

Qahnaarin was a longtime practitioner of Nihilism and one of it's lesser known branches, Gokuism. He did all he could to spread the good word to foolish people following other foolish religions. Why couldn't they see that they were pointless? He was walking through Detroit, bored out of his fucking mind, when he saw this abomination of a Temple. Diogenisanity? What the fuck was that? More importantly, how did you even spell it? Why would they name it that? Befuddled, but also triggered, Qahnaarin stormed into the temple and interrupted the service. "BLASPHEMY! HERETICS! FRAUDS, FOOLS, AND FREEMAN (S!) YOU WILL ALL BUR-" He Stopped for a moment, remembering that he didn't believe in hell. "YOU WILL ALL ROT ETERNALLY IN THE DIRT LIKE THE DUST THAT YOU ARE!" |

Hyacinth was visiting Detroit when she came across the most amazing building she had ever seen. Intrigued she went over to read the sign, it seemed the place was some sort of Temple. 'It has been a long time since I visited a place of worship' she thought to herself. Tentatively stepping into the building where a sermon was taking place. She didn't recognise a lot of what was being said but could feel herself being swayed by the words. What was Diogenisanity? Was he really their Saviour? Hyacinth needed to fins out more. |

Seeing her dear friend HyacinthBucket's arrival at the temple brought a big smile to the face of Serana as she had hoped Hyacinth would give Dio a chance to help her find peace and tranquility. "My dearest Hyacinth come sit with me for today's service and let's meditate and center ourselves." |

As the car entered the fine city of Detroit, Diogenis could feel a strange pressence. Dark clouds, strangely shaped, were forming above the temple. He drove as fast as he could towards the spot. When he stopped it all became clear. Evil was here. He grabbed his sacred rod and stepped out of the car. It was then that he spotted the known blasphemer Qahnaarin. "Be gone from this place fiend" he shouted and started chasing him waving the rod with clear threatening movements. As the bad man went away, the weird cloud formation started to disappear. Soon enough the sun was out once again. He turned around and stepped into the temple. |

Having successfully interrupted the service, Qahnaarin was most satisfied. But then, a premonition - a benguin came flapping at him, clutching it's rod and shaking it at him in fury. Not wanting to be drizzled by flightless bird's urine, Qahnaarin sprinted from the scene. |

Charsi was out having a bit of a stroll around the districts of Detroit when she noticed a building looking a bit out of place for its surroundings. It did look rather grand so she decided to go on over to see what it was all about. The Holy Temple of Diogenis, the sign read outside. She soon discovered it was a temple to worship the religion of Diogenisanity, where people would gather to learn about Diogenis and his way of life. "He really must have quite a following" Charsi muttered to herself as she continued to read the sign. Morning services are daily at 7.30am the first line was saying "Who on earth is up ready to sing their hearts out at that time of day" Charsi said to one of her guards puzzled as she then read the second line. Evening services are daily at 6.30pm it said "Now that one is better, At least there will be wine, or at least I hope so" Charsi spoke out loud again as her eyes sparkled at the thought of wine. She couldn't help but giggle as she said: "I pray to the diety Diogenis for wine!". She then read further on about confessionals being available also, only this time she kept her thoughts to herself 'Nope, nothing to declare' she thought while a grin formed on her face. Still, curiosity got the better of her and she decided that the next time she is nearby in the evening she would check it out further by attending an evening service. She made a note of the time in her pocket diary before continuing with walking through the city districts. |

Freshly walking along the sidewalk smoking his cigar, Arapaho notices a newly opened Temple in the district of Detroit. Arapaho always let curiosity get the better of him and followed the sound of the classically trained choirs singing their praises to Diogenis. As Arapaho opened the door the soundwave from the singing almost swept Arapaho off his feet!
Arapaho was greeted personally by the priest of the temple, who offered him a personal tour of the establishment and handed him the upcoming order of service. The time was fast approaching 18:30 - he was just in time so Arapaho took a somewhat awkward perch on a pewter as he was still unsure of what or how the service would unfold.
As Arapaho sat listening to the sermon being delivered in The Holy Temple Of Diogenis he was briefly distracted by an always familiar face in Charsi - it seemed she had also caught the service in time and she was correct in thinking the wine was being served, and very generously in typical Detroit fashion. Charsi & Arapaho shared a bottle between them before thanking Serana for their hospitality and once again a great service in tribute to Diogenis.
As everything came to a close, Arapaho put his flat cap back on his head, lit another cigar and wondered off down into the night sky, knowing that when he sinned next, as was only a matter of time - he'll have a safe haven to do it in. |

Nobody liked doing something they didn't want to but when Dino had mentioned to his boss Diogenis that he was going on a business trip to Detroit he had sealed his own fate. His boss hadn't said anything, just given him "that look." The had thought about not bothering but also knew that his boss would find out if he didn't do what was expected. "Let's just get it out of the way." He said to his driver as he jumped into the back of the car. It was a blisteringly hot day and it wasn't long before he had removed his jacket and undone his top button on his shirt as even with the windows down it didn't seem to cool him down. He got as comfortable as was possible in the circumstances and closed his eyes tring to think of cool thoughts. Before long he was awoken by the driver asking him if he wanted him to wait? "Of course I want you to f'kin wait." Dino barked and almost immediately regretting his tone. "I'll only be a minute and then you can drive me back to the hotel." he replied in a less aggressive tone. He turned and was quite taken with the building. It was beautiful. Walking up the steps he reached into his pocket for his money and quickly peeled off a few bills and stuffed them into the box at the entrance. Pausing momentarily he considered whether he should enter or not? The boss was bound to ask him questions about it so he ducked his head in through the door to have a quick glance. No sooner had he done this he heard a voice just off to the side..... |

Charsi was back bypassing Detroit, she had heard of a good drug deal that was too good to miss. She was going to go straight to the airport once she was done but her conscious got the better of her. The previous time she was in the city she had made a promise to go visit The Holy Temple of Diogenis. She made the promise while she was in it and was not about to take a chance by simply not visiting. She made her way across the city and it wasn't long before she was standing outside of the glorious building doors. One thing for sure she has forgotten just how breathtaking the building was, Diogenis is such a lucky diety Charsi muttered to herself as she took in all the beauty. She went up the steps with some flowers she had brought along the way. It was still the middle of the day and she knew she would be out of the city before the evening service. But she didn't feel she had to go do things with groups of people.. religion was a personal thing in her eyes. Still, she wasn't going to learn more until she starts to attend the services, she just couldn't today. Charsi ventured further into the temple and looked around. It was magnificent. "wow wow wow" she tried to mutter to herself but her words just carried around the building echoing loudly. She walked up to the altar and put the flowers into a vase and poured in some fresh water "For you my lord Diogenis " she said with a smile as she then lit a candle. She doesn't know what came over her, but she felt calm, at ease, peace. 'Was this what Diogenisanity all about?' she wondered as she made her way out back to the city streets. |

Charsi was bypassing Detroit trying to head towards her home city. As usual when in Detroit she made a point to go by the calmest place the city had to offer The Holy Temple of Diogenis. She was rather shocked to discover that the numbers of visitors to the place have dwindled by the caretaker "People do not know what they're missing" Charsi said to him as she gave him a few bills "I can see you keep this place spic and span, please that this" she said as she then moved on further into the temple. She took a walk around this time before heading towards the altar and was rather impressed with the variety of statues and the stained glass windows with all their colours in it. 'Breathtaking' she thought to herself as she then headed to the altar. She lit a couple of candles and removed the dead flowers she left the previous time. She felt it was like a different world in the temple, she wasn't sure if she was a believer of the ways of Diogeinsanity or not but could not fault the way she felt in the temple. Peaceful. As she turned to leave she spotted some incense sticks, her head went into a two-way battle for she was a fan of using them back at her caravan to set the mood before becoming her other self, Madame Cha Cha Char. "I wonder if they do anything other than just give off a nice scent" she said quietly to herself as all of the sudden she could not resist. She walked over to them and looked around to ensure no one was about, especially that caretaker. Charsi grinned, she was in luck and there was no time like the essence, she picked up around a hundred of the incense sticks and placed them into her bag and started to walk away when she thought 'I may as well take some candles too' as she turned around and rushed back to swipe a few. She started to feel a little guilty so figured if she threw a few coins into the donations it be okay, so she did that before heading out of the temple as quick as she could as she prayed that a bolt of lightning wouldn't suddenly strike her on behalf of Diogenis and she could not help but feel the adrenaline from the risk she had just took. |
