Syndicate sat down on his balcony overlooking the property which backed up to the forest. He set his coffee down on the table and watched as the steam trailed up into the sky, life was good. It was rare that Syndicate had the time to sit down and relax. “Is this what retirement feels like?” Syndicate asked his elderly butler. “I wouldn’t know sir, your paper is here.” Syndicate raised his eyebrows realizing his mistake in that comment. Whoops. He took the newspaper from the butler and set it down on the table, he picked up his coffee and took a few sips. He kept thinking about what life would be like if he stopped working in the banking industry, why would he, he was making so much money. Sure he was getting older and had enough to live comfortably but making money and doing business was all Syndicate knew. There was another business venture idea out there, and he would find it damnit! Checking his pocket watch Syndicate made a face, “I could have swore Adorkable would have been here by now, she’s always here on Thursdays for coffee. She must be on her way.” Syndicate shrugged his shoulders and picked up the newspaper and immediately flipped to the business section. His eyes grew wider as the headline sucked him in, the gears in his mind began to turn like he was 25 again coming up with a coffee shop idea that would make him rich. Bank Run in Philadelphia Spells Disaster For City!Early yesterday afternoon The Erie National Bank of Philadelphia along with three other local banks experienced the largest bank run in history with over 100,000 depositors lining up in the streets of Philadelphia to withdraw as much money from their accounts as they could. Last night more than half the commercial banks and building and loan associations locked their doors for the last time. Could this be the Greatest Depression in our country's history!? This reporter believes it will be, with massive unemployment, widespread bank failures and a sharp price deflation people are beginning to panic. How can Philadelphia ever recover from this? Where will our next paycheck come from? Who will help us secure funding for our homes? Where can the little money we do have be safe? Why is the government not bailing out the banks!?Syndicate folded the paper, he had a large grin on his face as his eyes glanced up to the sky. He hung his head back as he began to think. “Hey Syndicate!” The voice of Adorkable said from behind him, distracting him from his thoughts. “Adorkable! What great timing. Have you seen these headlines!?” He picked up the business section of the newspaper and showed her the headlines. “Oh how terrible, good thing you don’t own a bank there ey?” Syndicate’s grin grew even larger. “I’ve got an idea… Hear me out. You and I go to Philadelphia and have a sit down with the Mayor. We propose that Goliath Security Elite helps run security measures from the banks getting overrun long enough for Goliath National to set up, we can give the people a bank to trust with our securities and success, we can give the people employment between our two companies, and I can buy out the debt of the mortgages for a fraction of the price. It might be a rough start but if you buy in a down market, you get to ride it all the way up. To the mayor we will give all the credit while we make the profit, but in return he is going to owe us a few favors making it an easy place to do our other business. I hear there has been an absence of our kind in Philadelphia, nothing better than playing the business market and the street market, am I right?” |

Adorkable steps off the plane in Philly and breathes in the fresh air, enjoying how much better the air quality is compared to in Los Angeles. She smiles and looks over at Syndicate, "This is going to be one hell of an adventure but I've got a good feeling about this. We're going to rock this place!" Syndicate laughs and just looks over with a smug smile and she knew that he agreed with her. They silently nod at each other and part ways as Adorkable heads to check out the new headquarters for Goliath Security Elite. Once she arrives, she looks at the exterior and notices that it's looks nearly brand new and completely spotless. She was going to have to thank the mayor later for the wonderful location. She unlocks the door to head in and make preparations for her company to move in and make this place a home. |

Vito Landucci arrived a few hours later on a seperate flight as he stepped off taking in the fresh air of their new home city since their move from Los Angeles. He wondered how his funeral parlor would fare with him gone and only Mr. Grant Tilstone in charge. "Isn't that something Helen?" He asked his secretary who followed behind him down the steps, hands along the railing to not slip and fall. "It certainly is, sir." She said with a smile on her face as they made their way through the airport and out front to hail a cab to the new G.S.E. offices. Once arriving Vito exits followed by his secretary as they look up at the tall brand new looking HQ offices for their security firm. He smiled as he headed to the front door and entered to the immaculate pristine condition of the lobby and waiting area. The elevators behind the front reception area and the doors to the stairwells around the corner. He was excited to see his office as he and his secretary headed onto the elevator to the top floors. The doors opened and they emerged as Mr. Landucci called out for his boss, certain she was in here somewhere amidst the offices and meeting rooms. "Boss! You here boss?" He called out and heard a reply come from ahead somewhere. Proceeding forward he met up with Adorkable who was going over some last minute details with a clipboard in her hand as she walked from office to office, making notations on her paper. "Hell of an office isn't it!? Where am I setting up?" He asks excitedly as he glances around to see which office was going to be his. She smiled and nodded, obviously not wanting to break concentration as she pointed down the hall to the office at the end of the hall. A corner office with windows overlooking the city of Philly below. He walked in after excusing himself from the boss to check out his office, appointing his secretary to the adjacent smaller office next door where she begins to set up her box of belongings. Vito stands in his office looking out the window which gave him a perfect view of the front entrance and he could see people arriving. Clearly the rest of the family getting here little by little from the move from LA he thought as he turned and took in the elegance of his new office. He was excited to get to work and was eager to see what security contracts he could strum up for business and getting their name out on the streets of Philadelphia. |

Jay sits uneasy, even in his first class seating, on his flight to PH. It's been years since he's even visited the great state of Pennsylvania let alone lived there. With Philly being just under a three hour drive from his hometown, all the memories rush through mind rapidly. He had grown up along the coast of New Jersey and began his life of crime along the mean streets of Atlantic city. The rush of crime became his purple dragon and he chased it all the way to Philly. Once there he discovered this new life of organized crime and fell in love. It was here where he went from petty thief Justin to Jay the Insane. The blood he shed, the money he took, the loved ones he betrayed... all started in the city of brotherly love. And yet, it doesn't feel right. As if something is missing. He sighs taking another sip of his Whiskey and stares out the window just as the city comes into view. So beautiful.. and yet.. ???: "Something on your mind, Jay?" He looks over to Jaxxie, sitting in the seat beside him, separated by cup holders and a rather large bucket of ice with a half empty bottle of wine sticking out. Jay: "I.. I don't know Jax. This move is supposed to be a huge step for all of us. But.." Jax: "You don't like the feeling of coming back home?" Jay is caught off guard by this, but then sighs and nods. Jay: Even by the standards of this life that we lead, The things i've done here.. were horrendous and unmerciful. I'm not sure that I should have left LA. I'm sure there's plenty I could do to help from the- Jax: ...On the contrary. Jax sharply interrupts him. She takes another sip of her bourbon, then looks him directly in the eye. Jax: I think this is exactly where you need to be. This place seems to hold you in an emotional prison. So, perhaps it's time to make some new memories here. This is your chance to start fresh, help reshape Philly in a way that benefits you and the rest of the family. This move may be a change for all of us, but it's up to you to make sure this move is a positive change for you first. For someone so Intelligent, it seems weird to see you mixed up over something like...this. Jay lets this settle on his mind for a few moments, staring out the window and sipping his whiskey. Maybe she's right. The things I did, the people I hurt.. I'd probably do it again in a heartbeat if Adorkable gave the command. Perhaps I was growing soft and so Philadelphia is the perfect place to remind me of who I really am. This is my time to change this city back to it's former glory and fall in love with it all over again. As the plane touches down onto the runway, Jay cracks a smile and turns to Jax. Jay: Thanks Jax, With you and the rest of the family with me, we are going to do fantastic things for this city. The Two of them exchange a smile and head to the exit, not before Jay gulps down the last of his Whiskey. He then makes his way to the door and steps out onto the top of the stairs, closes his eyes, and takes a long deep breath. Then softly opens his eyes looking at the horizon in the distance. Jay: ... I'm home He cracks a smile and heads down to meet up with Adorkable and the rest of the crew. |

I had visited Philly a number of times but never called it home. The move from LA was bittersweet but I was looking forward to being in Philly. I had my things shipped so it would give me time to find a place, Thought I would just check in a hotel for a couple of days until I found a place, As the plane landed I claimed my luggage and headed to the exit to hail a cap.
As I stepped outside the hawk hit me so bad I thought I was in the fucking North Pole somewhere. As a hailed a cap and jumped in, asked the driver to take me to the closest clothing store. When we arrived I asked him to wait while I grabbed an overcoat. I went in bought a nice one but still wasn’t warm enough so I went back in a purchased a hat to go with the coat.
Back in the cab while talking to the cabbie I asked about a hotel in the Business District. I guess due to the bank situation here, a few were closed and there was none he could think of. So I let him recommend one that was open First thing that came to my mind is maybe to give the hotel businesses a shot here.
He pulled up to a little nice hotel right outside the Business District. It looked comfortable enough so again I asked the cabbie to wait while I checked in and drop off my bags and he agreed.
I checked in, went to the room dropped off my bags, went back to the cab and gave the driver the address to the Headquarters.
As we arrived I paid the driver some nice digits which pleased him. He thanked me and I headed for the HQ. I wasn’t ready to go in yet so just took a walk around the neighborhood. I saw a notification posted on the streets and made a response. “What you can’t fucking read”? I wasn’t supposed to say shit; Fuck a couple of hours in Philly and my ass is already in trouble.
When I arrived back to the HQs I first saw HenriDucard, went over to him, congratulated him on his new position and told him I looked forward to working with him.
I looked around for @Mazikeen. I hadn’t met her but was looking forward to it, but didn’t see her yet.
I spotted the lovely @Adorkable standing near Syndicate, went to her said hello, welcomed her to Philly and extended my congratulations.
I then turned to @Syndicate who gave me that look but a warm welcome. I guess he had heard already. As we shook hands I told him that I was looking forward to living and working in Philly. I knew that good things were going to happen and he said he definitely agreed with the same.
I mingled with some of the crew then thought while walking around I spotted the Irish Tavern, located in a converted old house, maybe I'ii just hang out here for a little while then go check it out, |
