Devil's Harmony Started by: Obito on Mar 17, '18 13:05

It was time, they were coming.

It was 11:30PM, thirty minutes before a convoy full of high ranking rival mobsters would be driving down the street to go settle down for a shipment that was supposed to be coming in soon after, Brancer and Obito met up in an abandoned housing project that was boarded up slightly but gave them a perfect view of the street where the convoy was supposed to pass through. Obito gestured Brancer inside of the room where all the weaponry was, they had enough Thompsons to light up an entire block, automatic fire was probably more or less preferred for a job like this; Edward and Alessandro, Alessandro being the one called up late to assist of course he does where he can were stationed down the street to pretend to be new drivers and block the street off on purpose to serve as a distraction but of course all the details were already set in stone. The night shadowed the neighborhood and the rest of the city and made perfect use to hide in the shadows like assassins, Obito tossed Brancer over a Thompson and pointed over to one of the windows as a sign to get setup.

Some time passed as they had a small conversation and Obito looked out of the window every now and then to check on Edward and Alessandro having small talk, Alessandro was smoking a cigarette but I guess it wouldn't make of a difference besides him hurting his own time with how long he'll need to run in case things don't go too well, cars were beginning to be heard down the street and anyone could hear it a few blocks down; the mobsters were coming and they took the exact route needed to execute the plan. Obito got up out of his chair and took a crouching position to mount the Thompson up on the window sill. It was gonna be a massacre, a big one even, but it's gonna be a good massacre if that ever made any sense. He watched as Brancer mounted his Thompson up on the window sill, giving the look back and forth occasionally, Obito cleared his throat; with no sense in mind he didn't know how bad this was gonna go.

"Brancer. Since we're here, I got to tell you something. I have a thing for Briya, do you think I even have a chance?" Obito gave Brancer that one look as a sign of him being worried, after the bar shootout and the dock accident he had already put her through so much, the only problem is one felt guilt for the other and even after reassuring her last time, the thought of him thinking that she still feels guilty slaps around in his mind like a baseball being hit by a bat constantly, he shook his head. Obito decided to make idle conversation as the rival mobsters were close to being stuck in their ambush position, the question remained, there was little time before they heard screaming, gunfire, agony and their eyes being lit up at the very same time.

Edward looked over to Alessandro with a curious glare. "How long you been on the job?" Alessandro looked like he wasn't even listening, but then jumped after he heard the word job. "What, what? Oh... A few months, sir." He seemed young to be a bodyguard but I guess that was just aging and not another cause. "Alright, well, you make sure you listen to the boss. You know what to do right? Even if you do, I'm just gonna remind you, we park up curved to the side to purposely block these guys off and we're gonna play off as we don't know what we're doing and by the time our act needs to given up. Bosses up there are gonna rain fire on them, you get it? Hope you prepared your acting skills." Edward exclaimed their whole role again, Alessandro did nothing but nod rapidly like if he had several dozen cups of coffee. But, everyone is probably thinking the same thing, coffee.

Report Post Tip

All the way on the drive to the abandoned housing project that Obito had told him to meet at, Brancer kept running through the plan in his head. He wanted everything to be smooth. He was trying to see if he could poke in holes in it, but much to his pleasure it seems Obito had put a lot of effort into this one. I guess you don't find yourself Left Hand Man of the Godfather Chairman and run a sloppy operation. He lit a cigarette as he parked his car a road back easy to get to from the alley that ran behind there. He checked his silver Reservo and noted he had enough time to finish his smoke. He thought about taking a sip of whiskey from his flask, but decided he could have one of those when it was deserved and the job was done.

He made his way into the boarded up home. He made sure to keep his head on a swivel looking for anything that gave him an odd feeling. This place was the perfect spot. It was as if this section of town had died already. These people were driving to a fitting spot for a massacre. When Brancer saw Obito he simply nodded and followed his gesture towards the weaponry. “Good evening to you as well.” The sight of the Thompson’s put a smirk on his face. When he caught the gun he moved over to window and began looking at what angles he would be able to get from here.

As they shot the breeze waiting on the unassuming convoy Brancer was finally sure where he would be focusing most of his fire more than likely. He checked over the gun for the third time since he had it in his hands before shaking his head and cracking his neck. He then settled in with his gun up upon the sill. Brancer’s breathing slowed slightly as he calmed himself and tried to get to a place of muscle memory more than of thought. Then he heard the sound of Obito clearing his throat.

“Briya, huh?” He said as he looked over in Obito’s direction. He stared off for a moment then back to him. “A woman like that, any man would be lucky with a chance.” Brancer studied Obito for a moment then looked back out the window. He had to keep sharp and not get distracted. Although, he had to admit his mind flooded with thoughts of what Obito and Briya’s past had been that led him to that. “Trust me. I get it.” He said looking back over at Obito. “I can’t speak for the affections of another though. Isn't the mystery behind whether or not you have a chance part of what makes her so intriguing?”  For a moment Brancer wondered if word had gotten around about how much time that they had been spending together lately. Though that was normal for a leader and their hands. Brancer gripped onto the gun and watched for signs of headlights as he struggled to get back to the flow state he was sliding into before but to little avail.

Report Post Tip

"You're right. The thought of it or even the feeling is what makes it intriguing, and we're both intriguing men, aren't we? This job should go smooth anyhow, they're almost on time, see the headlights down the road?" Obito waved his hand out of the window for a moment to signal Edward and Alessandro, our distracted drivers start the engine and begin to block off the road where the route is being taken. The whole convoy consisted of at least five vehicles loaded up, you can bet the devil's blood it was loaded up with men that were ready to kill at a moment's notice for their boss. The only thing is, you can't be ready if you get surprised by an ambush, though you can guess that never really occupies itself as Tactics 101. If there were classes for it, people would be using such a thing for strategy, men or woman with guns don't really mean anything if you don't know how to use them, just like strength; it means nothing if you don't know how to use it efficiently. Edward and Alessandro stayed parked in the road and the convoy finally came to a stop, the boss was in the third vehicle; it was obvious, old guy with grey hair and a styled out suit.

Most convoys consisted of the target being in the middle, don't know why, but it's always the middle. Obito pointed fingers at the third vehicle in the line, that was the priority target the whole time but it was pretty much gonna be a free for all in a few minutes, the boss snapped his fingers for someone to go check it out. The lead driver decided to step out and shout at the two in the middle of the road, they were blocking it but you'd think they would find something is up, it's night time and a car just happened to randomly block a road in the middle of nowhere where there's barely people out. A ghost town, at night? You'd think you were in a movie in the Wild West. "Hey, whaddya doing?! Get out of the damn road, we got places to be!" An associate exclaimed, Alessandro stuck his head out of the window.

"Hey, sorry! The damn engine blew out! We'll be out of your way in a few!"

"Get the hell out and push the damn car out of the way, I don't care what it takes! Like I said, we got places to be, what's the matter with you?!"

"Listen asshole! I told you the damn engine blew, get the wax outta your ears and listen!" So far, the acting played off very well. The lead driver went back to the third vehicle and pointed a thumb over our actors in crime.

"Boss, they ain't moving out of the damn way. Something about a fucking engine blowout, wh-"

Obito got the party started and started raining fire along with Brancer, Edward and Alessandro stepped out of the vehicle with Remingtons and executed everyone in the first vehicle before they even got the chance to step on the handle; the one guy that was outside got mowed down and the blood splattered all over the window right in front of his bosses' eyes. A massacre withheld just became true, a guy shouted out of fear. "Reverse, you morons, fucking reverse!"

By the time they could even reverse, they got their brains blown out through the windshield. Obito had to reload, time was wasting and this could give them time to actually make a run for it, the last vehicle crashed over into a wall and disbanded, the boss must've ducked down in order to avoid being apart of the bodies party. They ran down a secluded alleyway behind a jewelry shop. "This way, this way! Go left!" Edward and Alessandro gave chase, two guards that decided to give their lives away turned to shoot but they were only met with shotgun pellets through vital organs and fell backwards, the boss was alone with just one of his bodyguards, the chase continued. Obito stood up and waved Brancer over.

"Let's go! We gotta chase the fucker!" Obito bashed his good shoulder through the door and it slammed open, he ran down the hallway and down a flight of stairs.

Report Post Tip

Brancer nodded listening to Obito still looking out the window. When the truck began to move into position Brancer could feel mood shift slightly. “Anyone that can keep alive long at all in this line of work has bit of mystery to them, I’d say.” The convoy began to come into view and Brancer wondered if maybe he should have had that drink he decided against just before coming inside. He made quick work to scan the five cars. He took a cursory glance towards Obito to notice him gesturing for the third vehicle. Brancer nodded and looked up and down the line of vehicles. They were all loaded down with guard detail it was obvious. He wondered exactly what they were up to tonight before they were about to meet their unexpected demise.

As Alessandro began to have his back and forth with the lead driver, Brancer noticed how everything started to seem silent. He didn’t care much what they were yelling at each other and the sound had disappeared. His aim was steady and his finger began to draw in slowly His grip tight up against the trigger. The lead driver began walking back to talk to his boss and Brancer could swear he was walking in slow motion. On the third up and down shake of the drivers thumb while leaning in to the third car everything warped back to hyper speed from his perspective.

It was the first crack from Obito’s Thompson that caused the inevitable lapse in the slow motion like state. Brancer squeezed in on the trigger focusing fire on the third vehicle before moving on after seeing that lead driver danced around from the impact of the bullets that hit the unsuspecting guard. He then went to reload quickly. He put the Thompson back out the window only to see them running away. He knew better than to waste the rounds with the shot he would have.

“Fuck, you’re right. Slippery bastard!” Brancer snarled out as he ran after Obito. He mirrored him like a shadow down the stairs as they made their way to the alleyway. The two guards were falling silent in their fresh pools nice and lead filled from their assault on Obito’s well trained detail that he had along for the ride. Brancer had made sure to look back on the cars as they turned down the alleyway. He didn’t see anything stirring. His brain couldn’t help but make a mental snapshot of what he was sure would be every papers front page tomorrow. They should have never wronged Briya. The story he had heard of foosball had really turned into quite the wrong turn for some Irishmen.

Edward and Alejandro were standing next to a corner that seemed to have an issue with exploding bricks. To Brancer’s delight the fire coming from that alleyway wasn’t automatic. He turned and looked at the two guards then to Obito as the bullets stopped coming from around the corner.

BOOM

There was a loud noise that couldn’t be anything other than a shotgun, but then nothing else afterwards. It couldn’t have been shot in this direction because none of the bricks flew. ”Damn they’re on the move again!” After waiting to make sure they all took the leap of faith around the corner opening fire at a door that was swinging open into the back of the jewelry shop. Not that it needed any help being vandalized with the shotgun having already taken out the lock.

The four of them moved on towards the entrance to the back of the shop.

Report Post Tip

Obito and Brancer gave chase to the boss, the well trained being Edward and Alessandro were in hot pursuit. The boss seemed to take out a pistol from his jacket as he ran inside of the jewelry shop and shot back every now and then, it was more like blind fire while running as he didn't have time enough time to properly aim. The guys took cover of course and the bullet landed in the wall, he happened to run out right back out onto the street but the whole group was gonna have to deal with an entirely new problem, another rival squad happened to come drifting around the corner to defend their boss, they got out of the vehicle right in front of the whole group as they ran down towards the bottom of the street. Fortunately for them, they had the upper hand, they had to deal with getting out of the vehicle while the others didn't; the whole group in succession managed to spray them down as they screamed in agony and let out shots into the sky which would light up the night for a while.

Obito stared back towards the bloodbath, there were enough bodies and guns out on the street to arm up a single crew. His sights needed to be turned back forward, there was still the boss to handle with and he kept shooting back as he kept turning corners in order to try and slow down the rest of the group. A man was just strolling and minding his own business out on the sidewalk but the boss bashed through him like a wrecking ball and he fell on the floor and had his hat fly off him, he groaned. Obito jumped over the guy and aimed to let a shot at the individual; playing cat and mouse was getting annoying and they needed to end this, a shot landed through the bosses' right shoulder which more or less shattered the bone, the guy let out a scream. That would've hurt for anyone, he fell on the floor and Edward decided to do the honors of executing him. The whole group stopped to take a rest but it looked like they would need to continue.

A second squad of rival mobsters decided to drift around into their flank, a third squad decided to station themselves up at the top of the street. They had enough time to get out this time unlike the first car that tried to stop them. "They killed the fucking boss! Let them have it!" These guys were loaded up with Thompsons and were ready to spray and pray, hope was that they didn't have the better aim either. Obito looked around to the rest of the group. "Split up! Take separate parts of the street, we'll need to defend each other's backs!" Obito exclaimed, Edward stuck with him either way and Alessandro partnered up with Brancer to take different position. They used parked cars as cover and decided to cover each other's back as fire came from both north and south, it was a pain in the ass but Edward and Obito happened to take care of the northern flank pretty quickly, seeing a guy's head launch back as he fell on the street from a bleeding hole that landed on his forehead, his head slapped against the hood of the car and landed back.

The night wasn't over just yet, more cars kept to seem coming and coming. It was like this whole thing was planned from the opponent side or they have such a massive family in order to keep sending associates over and over, who knows they were killing, probably a bunch of made men, wise guys, capos; god forbid, they were probably taking out a bunch of whatever pool they could come out and send them out here. It's like they had spotters watching over the route which would be able to send out alerts somehow in order to send out an entire battalion of untrained killers, it's like they say, to send untrained people into war is to throw them away. An idea that's probably being thrown around now, Obito didn't have much ammo left and it looked like it was gonna be kill or capture, there was at least four cars loaded up on the northern street which aimed down heavy weaponry at the group and more cars stepped up their game to arrive towards the group's back flank, they had little option. To try their chance to run back the same way they came from or surrender.

Was it over?

Report Post Tip

Brancer could tell that this was going from a bad situation to worse when the car slid in behind them. He was beginning to wonder if maybe there was a miscalculation on how much security detail this guy ran with. As the they mowed down their would be harbingers of death, Brancer’s Thompson jammed and he jumped down to the side against the building as he made quick work of releasing the drum and freeing the stuck shell. His fingers were almost burning from the heat of the overexerted gun. He fell back in line with his group as they began turning corners on the tail of the slippery boss.

Even though the man had met his demise there in the streets chased down like an animal, Brancer knew it was no time to be resting. It was quite the adrenaline dump to see their prey finally hit the floor for the last time. It seemed that the tide had turned for their upper hand. They were no longer the apex predators in this fight. “This isn’t where we want to hold up!” Brancer yelled out to Obito as he and Alessandro began to fire at the group to the south.

A few barrages were exchanged as more of the men fell to the more accurate bullets of the group of four. Brancer and Alessandro had held off the oncoming wave for the moment. It was then that he saw more men coming from around the corner. He turned back and seen the same from the other direction. “We gotta get back to some wheels.” He said catching a look at Obito as they both nodded knowing they had to get out fast. Brancer took off his jacket in quick motion being sure to grab his flask and throw it into his back pocket. It was gift from Briya and also something putting him here at the scene so it would not be left behind.

He threw his jacket quickly out from behind the cars in the opposite direction from where they needed to be. These men weren’t going to be taking any prisoners after what they had done to their numbers. As the men all focused their fire toward Brancer’s ex favorite jacket, Brancer and Obito both took off back towards the scene of the first shots. Edward and Alessandro were right there behind them. The group began shooting most of what ammo they had left for cover fire as they made their way out of the situation. As soon as they were in a spot where they were out of sight they stopped firing backwards and instead all began to sprint as quickly as they could back out of their near graves.

It was quite the sight to see all those dead bodies now lying completely calm and silent as they turned the corner from the alleyway. Everyone was headed for the truck, but Brancer didn’t much care for that idea. “Next street over is my car,” he said as he aimed his Thompson back behind them panting. He was expecting to hear gunshots or see a mass of armed detail heading in their direction any second. “I guarantee it will help if these fuckers decide to give chase on wheels! ”

Time was up on deciding as Brancer squeezed the trigger and let loose three rounds. Two of which did their trick of dropping what must have been the fastest of the group of gunmen hot on their tail. He came around the corner in full sprint and in turn did quite the flip when the bullets caught him by surprise as he rounded the corner. Brancer was worried that those might have been the last three bullets. He had to be close.

“Let’s move! Besides, I got a couple Colts and a Remington in the car!”

Report Post Tip

Was almost gonna be the biggest gunfight in the century, or even the worst bloodbath to hit the news. There was a massive miscaculation but god forbid they would send the whole family, the whole grouped look between each other and then overheard Brancer state that this isn't the best spot to where they wanna held up. The boss was dead, but the only problem was the heavily armed protection detail had enough mobsters to raise an army to stand up against a whole police department, they returned fire each time and their ammo count was depleting as a grou. They needed to escape and get ammunition or risk death for sure.

Brancer threw out his jacket as a distraction method, Obito and co. decided to use the distraction to escape as they waste ammo on a jacket, as much as it was comedy it wasn't gonna be a laughing matter if he was dead, after heading through the alleyway the whole group was headed for the truck but there was not gonna be enough time for everyone to saddle in with a massive group on their tail. The idea changed and they continued to run down the street over to the next area where Brancer stated his car would be, Obito aimed his Thompson back every now and then and it seemed like the group was catching up. The apparent yells in the background gave it away, they acted like a hunting squad with no desire to take any prisoners. Death was gonna be a virtue tonight.

The heavily armed protection detail decided to finally catch up, they were somewhat fast. Obito turned back and sprayed a small division of the group down, the other members that weren't hit by Obito's spray and pray momentum let out curse words and continued to run, Edward turned back and fired down at the group and the one squad but there were others right on their tail. Sirens were heard several blocks down, it didn't sound like agents that were on the payroll, which is what are called as good cops, there were multiple sirens so if they have to deal with the heavy protection detail and a bunch of armed cops, it was gonna be one hell of a fucking night.

The group reached the car and decided to load up, they were stacked up in the seats with Edward taking the passenger seat which left Brancer to take the driver seat, time to put those driving skills to the test. Obito looked ahead of them and the sirens were getting loudrer to hear, he looked at his Thompson and took a deep breath, the group behind him were catching up. "I'm gonna use the ammo I have left, better than to get lit up when we just got in the damn car. Edward, help me, yeah?" Edward simply nodded and they both leaned out of the vehicle and began to use whatever ammunition they had left to mow down the heavy detail behind them, they flopped all over the street, landed on their backs out near cars as they sprayed through other vehicle's windshields. They started splattering blood and they were dropping like flies, with the car being started up. It was only the decision of knowing where to go, Edward and Obito leaned back up and waited for Brancer.

Report Post Tip

Brancer didn’t think he had ever been happier to see that supped up black Triumph Gloria. He only drove it when he was on a job, and thank god he had it with him today. He ran and jumped into the driver’s seat setting his Thompson in the middle closer to Edward and out of the way of the stick shift. He felt so much better knowing that they weren’t stuck back in that alleyway with the walls closing in on them. It was a rather claustrophobic moment that he knew he would be reliving sometime in the future if they got out of this place.

Between the sirens and the gunfire from Edward and Obito who were keeping the oncoming wave of rivals, Brancer almost lost track of everything going on around him. His hands had instinctively started the car. His foot engaged the clutch and the bored out engine fired up quickly. Brancer checked the rearview only to see many more lives lost to this blood filled night. The engine sounded desperate as the occupants inside the car were feeling. It bad a deep thirst for fuel and Brancer revved the engine hard for a moment. His left hand gripped tight to the wheel and his right threw the stick into first.

Brancer popped the clutch and as the flywheel engaged the tires squalled momentarily before they sped off down the road. Brancer was happy to have grown up here in Brooklyn.“There are two Colt m1911’s and a Remington Model 8 under the back seat!” He said as he turned the corner onto the next road only to see a two more of the rival’s cars headed quickly to them in that direction. They were going to try and cut them off from this direction, but Brancer down shifted and cut the wheel to get out of their way in time as the back bumper clipped onto one of their cars and went flying off of their getaway car.

Bullets began to fly in their direction and Brancer pushed down on the gas ducking slightly, but he wasn’t willing to risk them wrecking and being stranded there. The only good thing that came from this was Brancer had seen flashing lights and the cops headed towards them from behind. This meant that the other group of rivals was now going to slow down the cops from getting on their tale. Brancer ran the Triumph up to its fourth and final gear and kept coasting away on a straightway only after making seven or so quick turns on their way away from that bloody massacre.

He turned again heading back in the direction of Bensonhurst, the direction of the heart of Brooklyn. There were many garages Brancer could come flying up into there without question. He knew a place Benny owned that would have an open door they could come flying into and park this bad boy back where it was obviously going to need some work. He wasn’t going to be able to drive this thing again for a while. He slowed down to a normal pace his eyes always checking the mirrors as he tried to blend in with traffic. He thought they had pretty well made themselves scarce, but he was sure he could still hear a tire squalling in the distance even still.

"Fuck I think we may have lost them, but I won't feel safe till we are inside somewhere and have ditched the car."

More tires can be heard and gunshots with what sounds like return fire off in the distance.

Report Post Tip

The whole crew was already on the way leaving piles of bodies behind, or whatever was left of the detail they just sprayed down. However, the remaining ones were literally turning around the corner but by that time the police squad had arrived to dispatch any active threats, they decided to high tail it back the way they made it. There was a lot of police officers dispatched to this call but you couldn't expect less considering there's bodies piled street to street and nothing but destroyed vehicles and blood making the streets turn the color red. Several police officers stepped out of their vehicles and ran after the detail with their pistols, the others were in pursuit of Brancer and crew, which made things worse; Obito, Edward and Alessandro decided to switch out their weapons with the ones under the seats.

Edward and Obito armed themselves with Colts while Alessandro took a Remington. The only way they'd would get the cops off their back temporarily would be to blast them out of the pursuit line, but that always came with risks. "Looks like we have to get rid of these cops, otherwise we'll have major problems, they probably have more on the way and god forbid those cops survive; the ones that ran after the guys trying to kill us that is. Edward, it's time." They both nodded at the same time in sync, they leaned out of the vehicle and rained on the police vehicles behind them, managing to blow out a tire on the lead vehicle and making it flip into another parked car, they were waking up street after street.

The second vehicle in the line took lead, they received the same punishment however; the driver took a headshot and slammed into a fenced in area, a third vehicle soon took over. They were partnered and the partner of said vehicle decided to lean out with a Remington and fire back, glass shattered in the back and they decided to squint as a reaction to being shot at, another round of pellets soon came after that hitting the trunk, they were gonna be in shit if it hit a tire. The group was close to ending up like the last two police officers who got into a tragic accident, the firepower of two Colts in unison was a tragic desire for anyone wanting to meet up face to face with it, both officers were shot and killed in the vehicle and flipped in the middle of the street, the vehicle ignited and was put into a blaze of fire.

The definition of blood-thirst made sense tonight. Edward and co. leaned back in the vehicle and took a rest, the beautiful car took some scratches but Brancer blended in with traffic and decided to sneak out regardless of damages, traffic was very slow so they arrived to a secret destination where they could take a break. The barrels of the guns were smoking hot and the run gave them a run for their life, the group was tired after all that running, the adrenaline was wearing off by then which degraded their energy for the night, they weren't completely out of it; yet.

Report Post Tip

The chase was something fit for the talkies. Brancer had heard a few of the older Mafioso talk of stories like this, but few he thought were much more than tall tales. Living the moment was something else. The only thing on his mind was shifting gears and weaving in and out of traffic. Fight or flight had long since been flipped on its head from where they began tonight. It was get to safety and live to finish the job later if anyone was left after those cops joined up on the scene.

“Really thought this was going to go differently tonight!”

He yelled out as he saw the cop car flip end over end behind him. Brancer’s knuckles were white as could be as he clenched onto the wheel one hand and gear shift with the other.  His adrenaline pumping as all he could think of was making it anywhere there didn’t involve bullets flying his way from rival mobster or the cops alike. He weaved in and out of traffic trying to get away after the barrages of bullets the car had taken and all the explosions behind him. They needed a somewhere quiet and quick. Brancer began to realize it wasn’t just his tight grip that had caused his knuckles to grow white. He could see blood beginning to pool on the right side of his shirt when he looked down.

“FUCK!”

He yelled and hit the steering wheel much to his chagrin as he began to feel the wooziness set into him. When the fuck did he take the shot? How bad was it? Why is everything getting a little blurry? All these thoughts were flooding through his head as he glanced over to the others in the car who where shooting concerned looks at each other. Brancer sped off down another alleyway checking his mirrors frequently. He hadn’t seen any signs of a tail and his adrenaline was dumping and with it quite a bit of blood. As he came flying out of the alleyway back onto a road it wasn’t one hundred feet later and he was cutting the wheel into the open garage door of Andolini’s Tire Shop.

“Shut the garage doors quick!” He said as the tunnel he was looking through began to close off a bit. He was going fall out and he knew it. Fuck everything was really starting to get really cold. Brancer didn’t think that was a good sign. Easy job my ass this night had went to shit faster than a clip artist in a retirement home. The only good thing was it seems they were in the clear for now. Though Brancer wasn’t too sure how long that meant for him. He laid over in the seat and looked to Obito.

“Didn’t you say your man Edward there was good with medicine?” He said forcing a grin as he removed his hand from over the spot he had been holding. He was scared to get a look at the wound. Everything had been going so great for him lately in his life. Things had really been starting to fall into place and this isn’t the plan he had seen at all. He wanted another night at the Irish Tavern. He wanted to get to experience fireworks at the fair again someday. He wanted to see those he admired so much grow into the full potential they held. Brancer shook those thoughts out as he felt like he might pass out.

He let Obito get a look as he heard him call Edward and Alessandro back over after shutting the door. “You got to get me to Briya at the HQ and let her know what’s going on here.” He said as he pointed to a blue ford parked off on the other side of the garage. A good inspection of the place would let you realize there was very likely little tire work going on in here. “Keys are in the ignition. It was going to be my ride home.” He said as he winced over in pain again before lying still for a moment. He had to focus on just not passing out for now.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

Obito thought the group's troubles were over until Brancer yelled "FUCK!" out loud and his stare snapped over to look at him and started to check him over, guilt filled his face and now he was saying the word "fuck" in his thoughts; the irony was almost uncanny, Edward decided to stare over because even he could figure out it wasn't a problem on the road and the cops weren't chasing them anymore otherwise the group wouldn't have time to rest, the accidents behind looked like it was more of an ambush then your casual drive-by on law enforcement situation but anything becomes a mystery if you only have the question but not the answer.

"When the hell did you get shot?!" Obito exclaimed loudly, he was just as worried as he was. The only thing keeping him up at this point was the adrenaline, it was like an alternative morphine but it only lasted temporarily and the blood seeping was gonna be the biggest of their worries if it wasn't treated, the bullet fragments were probably lodged in good by now and they needed to get somewhere safe. Luckily, Edward was an expert in medicine or really just general health, he fixed pellets from seeping further in after that job with Briya at the Irish hangout and saved Briya from collateral damage after being shot in the ribcage.

Fuck. Everything was turning into a loose cannon tonight, the sounds of the engine running and Brancer just struggling to stay awake, his breathing almost losing close control; Obito snapped back into reality after they stopped inside of a garage, Obito snapped his fingers rapidly and Edward dug in for his small medical kit, he has worked with less before and he'll do it again. Alessandro adjusted Brancer out of the driver seat to station him in the back of the blue ford. Edward had to give his usual assistance too, they sat in the back together while Edward began to work on Brancer's wound. He had to dig in gently and without much room, digging in for the fragments.

"Edward's gonna take care good of you. I'm not gonna lose you on a job, we'll get you to headquarters so Briya can help us out. Just try and relax back there, I'm gonna drive since we're not in that much of a hustle now. Alessandro, ditch the guns under the seat and fix your collar, looks messy." Obito gave a small grin, he adjusted himself to sit in the blue ford; usually someone does the driving for him but an exception was made this time around. An easy job was practically an understatement, he started the engine up and the garage doors flew open as they drove out.

Obito drove the blue ford out of the garage and made his way to Briya's headquarters, skipping through a few lanes and going through traffic; of course his driving wasn't that psychotic because Edward needed the time to work on Brancer and keep him stabilized on the way there, Edward injected him with a small vial of morphine to get rid of the pain in the meantime. Some people honked as Obito skipped through traffic multiple times but he gave them the finger and continued moving, it's a wonder he hasn't crashed yet. The arrival to Briya's headquarters couldn't have been more promptly as he sped up the road and made the tires screech, Edward held Brancer still and Obito shut the engine off as they made their way inside.

"Housekeeping!"

Obito nudged the doors open and had the injured Brancer escorted inside.
