His lips opened up to whisper "Chicago" out of habit, but the word got caught in his throat. The city had forgotten him, perhaps it was time he did the same. Shaking his head to compose himself, Romeo looked up at the woman standing behind the counter offering him a glass of a perfect Fort Wayne. Chuckling in surprise he said, "Una donna secondo il mio stesso cuore." Accepting the glass he looked back at her curious blue eyes with his own inquisitive black. "A woman who can move about freely in such a famous joint, and one who knows her whiskey as well. You signora are dangerous." He said with a sly smile. Knowing his night and the visit by extension had taken an interesting turn, Romeo raised his glass in acknowledgment. "A toast signora, to courting trouble, for what else intrigues us so?" With a slight nod, he brought the glass to his lips. His eyes inviting hers into their darkness as he felt the familiar liquid slip down his throat. |

Mission accomplished, she thought to herself, as she saw that she had clearly surprised him by knowing how to make the drink he’d wanted. He commented on her ability to move around the bar freely and that caused her to chuckle. Olivia grabbed her own glass, which the bartender had indeed refilled, and took a sip. “I would certainly hope that I can move around freely, I do own the place after all.” She winked before glancing around the room with a smile. Granted, business hadn’t been great lately but she was still proud of her lounge. It was the first thing she'd really done all on her own and she'd make sure it stayed afloat. Looking back at him as he raised his glass for a toast, her eyes rested on his once more. He was certainly an interesting fellow and she could tell there was more to his story then he’d even begun to let on. She was intrigued, to say the least. She raised her glass in answer to his before taking a sip. Trouble indeed. After taking a sip and lowering her glass, Olivia spoke again. "So, if you're from nowhere, what brings you here to Detroit?" |

Good whiskey and better women. " He joked as he stood up and asked for her hand "Sadly though, I don't trust myself around women. Especially not around une bella donna. " If she was powerful enough to own this joint it would be better to look into this broad before pursuing her further. "Though, I am easily swayed. Find me again in another city signora travelling this land, enjoying my escape from captivity and maybe we can talk about why I was really here, over some good pasta si?" Letting his intrigue get the better of his fears , he let his lips plant a tender kiss on her hand as he took a last look at the eyes that held him prisoner the entire night, trapped in a deep blue embrace . Turning around he walked towards the door and hoping she could hear him he spoke aloud "Adios, donna pericolosa." before stepping out with the briefest of grins on his face. |

It took them a few minutes to find the entrance, partly due to the hidden door, and partly due to the impromptu necking session that took place in the alleyway before they found said door. Straightening her dress, Briya wiped her lipstick off of Brancer's mouth and they managed to get themselves past the bouncer with a mumbled password and a large wad of cash palmed as they made their way past him. It was an unusual place, but nonetheless, everything simply fit in a way Briya couldn't quite explain. Smiling as she looked around at all the gym equipment adorning the walls, she eventually turned to her husband and tilted her head curiously. "A booth, perhaps? I'm not sure I can handle sitting on a pommel horse," she grinned. The pair made their way to an empty booth near the back, where the musicians were tuning up for the next set. Before the noise level increased tenfold, a server stopped at their table and pointed at the specialty drinks menu, then explained which cocktail was recommended that evening. "Oh. Yes, I do believe I'll try this 'Godfather', please," she grinned, all thoughts of the negroni now gone. |

The place definitely had its own charm. Brancer's eyes scanned the walls and looked over all the various equipment. The way the owner had chosen to integrate working out and drinking was an interesting take. While looking around he got stuck looking over at Briya. He reached over before she spoke and fixed a bit of her hair. It had been mussed up in the alleyway skirmish apparently. "Booth definitely... Though it would interesting to see you perched up there." His eyes lingered on the pommel horse a moment before they made their way to their seats. Brancer looked over the list along with her. When she said she would try the 'Godfather' he snickered. It did sound like a good drink, but he more so just wanted to say. "I think I'll have at godfather, too... Let's make that a couple rounds at least. " Brancer had stared Briya straight in the eyes as he spoke. The waiter left, the corner of Brancer's mouth curled in a smirk. The effort put into the decorum was a nice touch, but Brancer wasn't going to be able to appreciate it today. "You think we should put a room in at the Red Rock like this?" |

Briya stared back at him as her hand reached inside her bag for cigarettes. "For the public? Or for us?" She deadpanned with an unlit cigarette between her lips. Her hand slid inside his coat and dipped inside the inner breast pocket, pulling out his engraved lighter. After flicking it to life, she touched the flame to the smoke and then snapped it shut. Instead of returning it right away, she held onto it, tapping it absently on the table as the band began to play an upbeat tune. Something swing, it sounded like. Their drinks arrived, and Briya exhaled skywards before setting her cigarette down in the ashtray. Picking up the glass, she clinked it against Brancer's in a toast. "May you live as long as you want to, and want to as long as you live," she said, then downed half of her glass. |

"For us of course." Brancer tried to match her deadpan look unsuccessfully. He couldn't help but smile at her tonight it seemed. He watched the lighter for a second tapping along as the sounds of the bar surrounded them like white noise. That engraving seemed to mean even more now. It reminded him of how the first one she gave him underwent its own transformation. Even if the letter was never changed. Once their glasses clinked, Brancer took a large drink of the sweetened scotch. He wasn't as worried about wanting for as long as he lived; it was living for as long as he wanted that would be hardest to manage. Something worth drinking to for sure. "Not bad. It's a bit ironic that a godfather is tamed whisky. These things are bound to sneak up on us though." He laughed and finshed the glass off. Maybe the alcohol wouldn't have to sneak up at this rate. Brancer pulled out a cigarette and put it to his lips. "What about you? Are you fulfilled? You asked if I was satisfied at the river walk." |

A prolonged drag off of her cigarette caused the cherry to flare brightly in the dim room as she considered his question. Frankly, she was surprised he felt the need to ask it. "I am the luckiest woman alive, Fiorenzo. Not because of the title, either. It has its perks, sure," she said, lifting the godfather and swirling the remaining contents around in the glass slowly before draining it. "But it's not what satisfies me, fulfills me. I could be a housewife in Hoboken and be just as happy, as long as you were along for that ride, too," she finished, then crushed her cigarette out in the ashtray, her eyes never straying away from his. "Less exciting, of course, but we'd live longer," she said, her smile reappearing. |

Brancer smiled at her answer. It turned into a chuckle as he thought about Briya being a housewife. "In Jersey of all places?" His hand reached over and grabbed hers from the back of it. Brancer slid his fingers down around to the lighter and stole it from her grasp. He lit the cigarette in his mouth and shook his head. "I'd be a greedy man to keep someone like you hidden away serving that sentence... No matter how great that sounds." He took a long drag from the cigarette. As he chimneyed smoke upwards, thoughts of Briya in curlers cleaning the windows with vinegar flooded his mind. He gave her a big grin and finally broke eye contact to signal the waiter. Brancer pointed to their drinks and shortly there after a refill was on its way. "You did say we were tying one on right?" |

"Well, we don't have to do all the tying here, but I won't argue against another godfather," she said as another round appeared shortly thereafter. "We can go anywhere you like, unless you're ready to go home," she said, lifting the fresh drink as the band started a new tune. "But first, we dance," she said, drinking and standing simultaneously. With a loud smack, her empty glass hit the table and she pulled Brancer up and over to the dance floor. |

Brancer put out his cigarettes as the next round appeared. "They are delicious." He picked up the new glass, and he was about to take a drink. Thoughts of their home had stopped him. When he saw Briya go to slam down her drink he knew he didn't have long. Brancer took the drink down in one pull and set it to the table. He barely was able to reach it to set it back down. He had forgotten to answer her, as the pair began to dance. Brancer was so wrapped up in her presence; he really couldn't be bothered by what came next. He knew it was with her. |
