Burning Down the Tower Started by: Bubbles on Apr 03, '18 04:41

The once esteemed Ivory Tower stood there now riddled with bullet holes. Debris littered the streets as you could still hear the pieces of glass crackling and people still screaming in the background from what had just transpired. Some of Bubbles associates could be seen entering the tower with gas cans in tote as she stood their in the doorway admiring the destruction. It really was a thing of beauty, in an odd sort of twisted way but hell that was her way.

She reached into her pocket, in search for the box of matches she made sure to bring. Though they weren't in her right pocket, her heart sank for a moment. That was until she reached into her left pocket. "Ah, there they are!" She said to herself as the smile grew bigger on her face. She held the box up to her ear and gave them a little shake, the wooden sticks rattled off of each other. The itch to light one grew deeper within her, with each rattle. She was tempted but the place wasn't prepped yet plus she still had men in the building. Insomnia could sense Bubbles inner pyromaniac growing as he snatched the matches from her.

"Hey give those back!"

Insomnia just gave her a look as he headed inside to make sure everything that needed done got done.

Sensing the gazing eyes behind her Bubbles slowly turned around to notice a growing crowd gathering behind her. She slowly took a couple steps down the stairs and stood in front of the crowd. She looked left to right and then right to left making sure no one was up to anything. Feeling comfortable with the people in front of her she began speaking.

"So you all must be wondering what has transpired here this evening. Now I'm not usually one to spew out the mouth about this thing of ours but in this case I believe it is a must. Now I'm usually quite the mild tempered woman, friendly and such. Though don't take that friendliness for weakness. Now the relationship that Frankie and I had wasn't what you could call a favorable one, there was just something that always seemed to bother me about her. Come to find out, a few days ago, I received a certified mail. One with pages of transcripts linking Frankie to a possible revenge plot against the individuals who left her homeless once before and well since we were those people this could not be allowed, so she had to go."

Bubbles looked back as she could hear her men finishing up inside, some of them starting to walk out the broken front door.

"What about Las Vegas?" A small voice could be heard from the crowd.

She tried to find the person who asked but couldn't seem to narrow it down to whom asked the question but decided to speak up as well.

"Ah yes Las Vegas, news travels fast doesn't it? Unfortunately Vegas met their demise as well. This is something that pains me some, I've always liked Godfather Shaggs. He was a well respected mobster and one that I've had the pleasure of having a few lengthy chats with. Though recently as well we had caught whispers coming out of Vegas, whispers which were hard to ignore. Now I'm not going to point fingers out in Vegas, cause well a lot of good people lost their lives tonight. May they rest well."

Just as she muttered her last word she could feel the heavy hand of BumbleBee on her shoulder. She looked up at him as he looked down at her, all he did was nod but that was enough.

"Excuse me everyone but I have things to go do."

With a quick turn she headed back up the stairs to towards the tower, while Bee ushered the crowd off sight. Insomnia was the last one to walk out of the building. He looked at her with a smile and tossed her the box of matches. She smiled then opened the box and took out a single wooden match. She took in a deep breath, the smell of kerosene made her cough ever so lightly. Figuring she was a bit too close, she decided to take a few steps back before lighting the match. The flame danced off the tip it was quite hypnotizing to watch but this match had a purpose. Bubble gave the match a flick, it tumbled in the air until landing on the floor. The spark lite it immediately and in a matter of moments the tower was engulfed in flames.

The heat was intense, it was so hot it made them take a couple steps back. Just outside the heat range Insomnia and Bubbles stood there and watched as it burned. "I guess you won't be able to get that revenge anymore, huh?" She muttered to herself as burning papers filled the streets. Once the tower began crumbling on top of itself she was satisfied enough to head home back to New York.

Corvus spat on the ground. Mainly from the build up of phlegm from smoking and the overdue brushing of his teeth that was needed. But the recent announcement also struck a chord, and played his distaste right onto the sidewalk.

"And a lot of good people also lost their lives in Seattle. Have a bit of fuckin' respect for all who died in the recent bloodhsed. You may not of liked Frankie, but she did more for this world than most can be assed to. Show some character, because this shit speaks more about your lack of it than anything else."

It had been a while since BumbleBee had walked about the streets. Always a bot of the streets, he wondered about today listening to various opinions of the events that had just passed. He knew there was going to be some opinions. Burning down of someones home always hits some chords. Right as he was making his way back to the car, after Godfather Bubbles had made her speech. He hears an ex-associate of the tower speak.

Have a bit of fuckin' respect for all who died in the recent bloodhsed. You may not of liked Frankie, but she did more for this world than most can be assed to. Show some character, because this shit speaks more about your lack of it than anything else

See young lad, certain things are beyond our understanding as soldiers. Certain things are just understandable at the Kings or rather the Queens table. Were not necessarily privy to the information that set these actions in motion. But friends were killed today. And none likes to kill friends. But this is the second time in a row that the loss of a GF, rather a city was ignited by the shortcoming of Crew Leader(s). Now we can sit here all night and talk about the greatness of the Ivory tower, and well have just as many comments about the blandness of the Ivory tower. Yet none of those comments mean anything now.

He puts his hands on the shoulders of the young lad as he tries to comfort him.

What has happened today, happened cause a crew leader disrespected a Godfather. Then they had the oddasity to speak of revenge. I don't know where you come from my young friend. In La Cosa Nostra, rank of Godfather is respected. You can speak your opinions all you want, but one thing you cannot cross is that line of respect.

He takes a puff of his cigar as he continues his convo with Corvus

As far as the lack of character exhibited by Godfather Bubbles? I think the fact that she didn't burn down all of the towers inhabitants along with it, are a sign of her mercy and graciousness. A sign of her character. It wouldn't take her very much to do that, hell Godfather Insomnia made sure that none of the associates were hurt before the tower was burned down. So be careful with your fiery remarks. Its not wise to point at ones character without knowing the whole story. And this is the kinda story that would only make your fallen Don look worse.

Bee offers the young lad a sip of his whiskey.

There is a way to say anything, and everything. Respect though has to be adhered to, laws of La Cosa Nostra need to be followed. Your young, if you so choose, you have your whole life ahead of you. A bright future even. Fiery comments will only hold you back. And will only boil a fire, similar to the one that eventually led to Frankie's demise. Don't do that to yourself!

BumbleBee gives the young lad a tap on his shoulder and proceeds down the street.

Dubliner stepped forward into the conversation.

I must say, Corvus, our lines go way back, but I must agree with Bumblebee on this one. It was a tricky situation but one that had to be done and I believe Bubbles handled it as well as it could be handled. Had everyone who inhabited the tower died, people would be angry; people were spared, and people are angry; had Frankie been the only casualty, people would be angry. There's no win/win--its war. I understand the frustration of losing a good friend, I've lost many and I always considered Frankie's line as personal friends of mine. And I would've loved to see her reach Godmother.

The best way to ensure that the Ivory Tower lives on is through continuing its legacy of class through your actions. Work hard, show them how a true member of the Ivory Tower works and holds him or herself in the face of adversity. Take your frustration and channel it into something that will help the Ivory Tower go down in the ages through your actions or--if it be your ultimate goal--to work to position yourself where you can personally see that it lives on.

Whatever you decide to do, you know I wish you the best. The Ivory Tower really was a special thing and it deserves to live on through its former members living or otherwise. May all those rest in the purest peace that they all deserve. And let's not let this get out of hand out of further respect for the crew.

Corvus took the much needed sip of whisky. Then another. The thought of who handed it to him persisted, so he resisted the urge to down the whole thing. As he tossed it back he looked BumbleBee in the eyes. The inner fire still burned. Maybe even brighter than the one that lit up the West Seattle district.

He held back the urge to speak more, as it would likely end up with him laying in a shallow ditch somewhere. Corvus let out a sigh and gave a respectful nod.

Before leaving, the troubled man swallowed his pride and gave the same nod towards Bubbles and The-Dubliner. He took the latter man's words with him, and in memory of his fallen comrades, Corvus left a little something in the streets. On an outer wall of a rundown building, 'The Tower Still Stands' was sprayed in white paint.

I think better alternatives exist than your given solution , but such is life. That being said, That was a shit reason for killing your friends and allies.

well since we were those people this could not be allowed, so she had to go."

95% of the People who took her down prior are dead,  if I rember correctly you were not even in NY when she died but apart of Chicago. Great execution though.

Just to clarify Destroyer, at the time when Frankie was a hand for Dova I was a crew leader in Brooklyn under Insomnia. So yes myself and many others that are still around played a part for her losing her home under Dova. The letter that I’m talking about what after that event. Perhaps you are thinking about something else?
