The Transition Started by: Marcus on Sep 28, '10 13:24

Friends,

There was an unfortunate accident this morning, and our friend and underboss Jonnie was killed. When I heard the news, my heart stopped as I was taken off guard. I couldn't help but think, how? Why? What are we to do now? What about his crew? The men and women that he helped to shape and mold. The thoughts we've all felt many times over the past few months as leaders rose and fell, but doubly painful as we've begun to again see stability in our world. Jonnie was a big reason for that stability. His tireless dedication to our family, our city and our way of life was an inspiration to all of us in the crew. The respect he earned, the power he gained, all made our crew into what we are today, and with his death, I feared it might all be lost in one quick backward swinging motion.

It will not be lost! I've spoken with the leadership in Chicago, and with the rest of Jonnie's inner circle. It has been decided that we shall carry on the legacy of Jonnie and his crew. I've been asked to setup and fill his shoe's. While I will never be the leader he was, I hope to somehow fill the enormous void that now fills Chicago with the loss of Jonnie.

So what does this mean? It means that what Jonnie stood for will not die with him. His crew, his people, his entire operation will be continued. Name and all. Under my leadership, Jonnie's crew will remain true to his vision and philosophy, and while we can never forget or fully recover from the loss of such a great man -- we can and will do our best to preserve his legacy so that future generations of Mafiosos will be able to call his crew their family.

Thank you once again, for your time, your support, and your understanding during this transition.
