Syndicate stepped out onto the streets to address the people as to the reason for the bloodshed this evening. Syndicate pulled a cigar from his pocket and struck a match. He took a few puffs and then addressed the crowd.

"Sadly, I come here before you today to tell you why half of my city is six feet under. It may not be a surprise to most of you that Mr. Ligambi, my former partner in crime, had a following of people especially loyal to him in the days before he had his own family or district."

Syndicate puffed his cigar once more and watched as the smoke drifted upwards.

"I knew this about him before sending him off to his own district. I felt that he would be an asset to the new city of Philly with his influences and his ability to make money through his loans and gambles. Things were great. Joe_Ligambi was a great member of the Philly crew and we were happy to have him. I had asked a few times that he at least introduce me to his inner group of people, so we could make a stronger city. He was not up for that, but still, I was happy to have him. "

Syndicate placed the cigar in his mouth and puffed a few times, pulling the cigar from his lips he sent a large smoke ring up into the air.

"He brought a lot to the table and it was easy to overlook the fact that he had these external loyalties until one of those loyal to him decided to show us some truths about his goals to take the world by force. We learned of privileged information freely being shared among his group and were told of his efforts to avoid wiretaps and other methods of communication that may incriminate him. He went to great lengths to hide his secrets."

Syndicate dropped his head in disappointment, he took another few puffs from his cigar.

"In the banking industry, those charged with embezzlement are fired, escorted from the property and tried by a jury of their peers to the fullest extent of the law. In our life of crime, what is one to do when you are presented with proof that your partner intends to take the world by force? Do you call them into your office and talk it out? A gun beneath the table in case it goes bad?"

Syndicate looked at the blood spot on his sleeve.

"No, even if I managed to convince him to come clean and change his ways, I could NOT ensure that the mindset of his group would adhere to these newfound ways, nor could I in good faith bring merely his 'word' as compelling evidence in his innocence to the other city leads. Unfortunately, the external forces at play in this incidence posed a risk to not only Philadelphia, but the rest of the country."

Syndicate puffed his cigar one last time, then dropped it at his side. The smoke from the dropped cigar surrounded Syndicate. He slowly faded out of sight into the engulfing smoke as he spoke once more.

"So, I did what I had to do, I removed the potential threat from the equation and the city of Philadelphia will have to build anew."

With that, any evidence that Syndicate was still there was not apparent. The smoke cleared and there was nothing.

ShoNuff didn’t know where Syndicate had vanished to, so he turned to the small crowd that was left.

Not kissing ass as some of you might think,  I appreciate and respect Godfather Syndicate coming out here today addressing all of us.  This way when the next of kin comes and ask you what happened you have a reference.

I lost some good partners in crime yesterday.   A personal friend RalphValentino who worked for me lost his life.   We the hustler in the streets day by day, the ones who worked together and have a mutual respect for each other know how it is When it comes to war and deaths especially in your own city, somehow the trust was lost down the line between our leaders. We have no control over that.  Everything after is strictly business, nothing personal. It’s a harsh reality but in this thing we so call "ours" death is the solution to outside threats and problems. No man – no threat.  No man - no problem.”   It's the way it is and some of us just get caught up, but it's the life we choose.

Rest in peace to the fallen, gone yet not forgotten.

Report Post Tip

Walking down the streets of Philly I hear a man yelling so I mosey on over to take a listen.  After the man speaks I am shocked to learn of what the man says.

I think to myself, it's a conspiracy.  Knowing Joes LHM personally these speakings were never mentioned.  Wonders who is his inter circle was.  Maybe they are still out there.  Shit, maybe I need to get out of town.

I grab my trusty steed and mount up and blaze new trails.
