So I got a laptop coming soon, my dads friend owns a computer shop and it getting one for me. So now I need to switch over to wireless but my PC does not have a wireless card. So I looked up and saw the "Wireless-G USB Adapter". I can just plug it into any usb drive to get wireless and I don't even know how it works but it picks up the interent so your compuer can cpnmect to the web.

What do you guys think of Wireless-G Asapters? Seems too good to be true but makes my life easier.

It'll only work if your modem is connected to a router.

I use one on my desktop, but it uses a PCI slot. Same thing, though. So long as the router isn't connected all the way across the house from the room your PC is on, you should be okay.

Yeah you'll need a router buddy, I use wireless G for my PC so my xbox is hard wired, works a treat.

The wee dongles can heat up though, I've already had to replace one.

I use a wireless usb adapter for my desktop. G adapters arent the fastest but they get the job done. I have a N+ (the best) but not all modems are compatible, for example Im with AT&T now so I have to use a G adapter with my crappy 2wire 2701hg-b modem/router. Eitherway its plug and play, simple and gets the job done!

Is it possible to get wireless but still keep my computer hard wire..like Don't some Wireless routers still allowed some computers to be hard wired in?

You can have both but only one will be working at a time.

Here in Holland loads of those USB adapters for internet are used. Some routers you buy even come with one or two of these sticks. Indeed they're not the fastest, but it will get the job done ;-)

What do you mean onme will be rking at a time? Solara I wa told I can keep my computer hardwired and yet be able to use my lpatop with wireless at the same time becuase most wireles routers wtill have a spot to a ethernet plug.
