The MadHouse Cleaning Started by: Rayden on May 03, '18 09:26

Rayden steps over the rubble of what was left of The Madhouse headquarters and walks out onto the streets shaking her head while looking back at the mess that had been made earlier that evening.

As you can see today, I had the unfortunate responsibility of removing one of my own Crewleaders, mostly due to irresponsibility and lack of accountability. Originally, I had my doubts about setting up Alice. She has been known for shielding rogues, funding them, leaking intel to them, working both sides, having a hand in getting CletusKasady killed, and we cant forget going rouge on her own city. These are things that she has actually admitted to, and I can only imagine what else she has done or would plan to do if she were allowed to live any longer. She always would try to blame it on being misled by others or appearing to have no capability to take action and hold her own crew members accountable. She wanted a chance and was given one only to stab her own city in the back. This is her: disloyal, a player of both sides, and someone to never be trusted.

Today was just another blemish added to her ongoing record. Earlier, when I found myself on the hitlist because of her inability to handle her own member, I was, needless to say, disappointed in her. When she said she could probably stop it but wouldn't because of a petty grudge how another person that wasn't myself had come off to her, I knew she had zero loyalty to Detroit’s leaders. She has proven that when push comes to shove she is still far from a team player and only cares about herself getting ahead. Her actions and selfishness had caused the demise of her crew. She only cares about a bold suit, at any cost and has no clue how to properly where it. It was a mistake to give her a chance, and the decision to remove her was made easy given her display of her true nature.

Rayden lights up a cigarette and sighs

What a waste.

While passing through the city, MS sees smoke coming out of a building, the smoke that is left after massive Gunfire. MS recognized that building and also had an idea what went down there. With a sigh of relief MS heads down towards her destination thinking what Alice could have been if she hadn't flipped on her own people.

Faith_Seed found herself in the streets after yet another interesting event from the Alice bloodline. She didn't understand why people kept authing the bloodline, but it was fun to listen to Detroit air their dirty laundry. Though, a few things that Godfather Rayden mentioned sparked her curiosity.

Originally, I had my doubts about setting up Alice.

Why auth her? It's not like you had one doubt. No, you had a whole list.

1. Known for shielding rogues.

2. Funding rogues.

3. Leaking information to rogues.

4. Working for both sides.

5. Having a hand in getting CletusKasady killed. Who's daughter is now GFC of detroit, Serana.

6. Rogues on her own city.

Those are pretty damning things to know and then still consider them for auth. Now, don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying you should bloodline the sinner. But at the same time maybe you shouldn't be rushing into auth someone who you already have a list of deep scathing remarks on.

These are things that she has actually admitted to

Did you auth her to give her a chance? Had a long heart to heart conversation with Alice about her bloodlines previous major infractions and she let you know she learned from her bloodline's previous mistakes?

This all reflects poorly on Detroit. Are the leaders not getting to know their members well enough to see who else could be potential auth? You'd rather auth someone who you have plenty of doubts about for ten days than give a new bloodline a shot? Or are we still in the boring cycle of authing the same bloodlines over and over again?

Now, don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying you should bloodline the sinner.

This, paired with the fact that it was clearly not a black and white situation but one that was different from the usual district auths is really all you need to know to understand why Alice was given the chance. Rayden was authed when she was already at a rather ripe age and considered wise and skilled enough to be considered among the elite with the rest of the Godfathers. Unless you are suggesting that she was not deserving of the rank and should have waited the weeks and even sometimes months that most other leaders are afforded before they choose their auths within their own district?

They gave a shot to someone they hoped had changed, and when they proved otherwise it was handled. It's really as simple as that, and if this puts Detroit in a worse light in your eyes, then that's, like, your opinion, man.

This is the second time in less than a year a crew leader setup by there respective godfather has gone rogue . Maybe a little more thought should be put into it , given you are aware of all these problems said person has before giving them auth.

The actions of Alice indeed does reflect poorly on Detroit,  she was a crewleader from that city. What I gather from what you are saying is it is not the cities responsibility if a crewleader goes rogue because at that point said crewleader made there own decisons.

Faith_seed you nailed it on the head, completly avoidable . Entire crew was slaughtered because they had a crewleader with half a brain.I just don't understand why you would auth someone who has a history of doing the things you claimed they do.

"I just don't understand why you would auth someone who has a history of doing the things you claimed they do. " - Houdini

"Honestly, I'm convinced some of you people just enjoy having SOMETHING to moan about. I've seen people coming out here on many occasions crying and whinging because particular bloodlines are not given a 'fair chance'. It seems the majority of the faces in this world bitch and complain because the history of a persons family is too long remembered and they're not treated fairly or equally - or given a new opportunity to prove themselves. Then, all of a sudden, opinions have changed and we should now make our decisions based on the actions of our forefathers? Ridiculous. You can't have it all ways. At the time of her authing, Alice had obviously proven her worth in Detroit in order to be considered for bolding in the first place - regardless of her kin's heinous actions, even! However, sometimes things do not play out the way we'd hope and so people get their own crazy ideas and you get what we witnessed, someone who fails themselves as much as their City, their Crew and everyone else involved. I think we can all agree the kin of Alice will not have a chance of any responsibility in the City of Detroit under it's current Leaders. But does this mean her children and her children's children shouldn't be offered a chance in the future? I'm not convinced - things change, times change and people certainly change. Unfortunately, the apple just hadn't fallen far from the tree this time. Unless you have some way of teaching us, please take your 20-20 hindsight vision elsewhere... We don't need it."

"Are Detroit aware of their responsibility in all of this? Of course, why do you think this speech was made? The issue was kept internal and cleaned up with haste, honestly. We're in the business of corruption and deception - and somehow you're still surprised when you get someone working solely for themselves? It's gonna happen, mate.. This is the Mafia."

I honestly do not give a shit about Detroit but a member of an LA family , a city I was apart of was killed.

You in fact do need it, the vast selection of RHM and Crewleaders are loyal to themselves. In fact if I recall correctly your ancestors did not give a shit about there crew in Vegas or Detroit when blowing there own brains out. You and Alice are very similiar. There are lot of things you could learn. First would be to not come to the streets telling others they should not "bitch" and "moan" when your own city just hosted a rogue crewleader.

Your topic on bloodlining is irrelavent and majority of people who really are bloodlined do not complain when killed.  Alice's ancestors has been a crewleader multiple times so clearly this is not a case of

Shaking his head in disgust, Vesuvius takes a moment to vent out loud, not giving a shit who listens or who doesn’t

I have no interest in making an argument in favor of one side or another.. or directing my disgust at any one individual, but excuse whoever’s feelings I hurt with the following statements.

Irrespective of the family and city I now serve as an associate, my kin have walked these shores with the oldest among us.. and I don’t know at this point if that’s a badge of honor or a testament to the fact I haven’t done enough to focus my time elsewhere.  However, never in my life have I ever seen the historical issues of this thing of ours misrepresented in the most bullshit manner as within this discussion... particularly with recent comments.

Bloodline killing for one, has only ever existed for two reasons:

1. There are people who feel nobody is worthy of their respect with whom they don’t have an “outside” relationship

2. Too many people are so fucking vain they can’t operate under an unknown alias OR swallow their pride and not pursue revenge for their kin

With all this said, it’s just as fucking ridiculous that young blood of old bloodlines are given fast tracks to bold suits because of the sacrifices and dedication of their kin.  Fuck everyone who thinks this is a good way of doing business.  Those people had their shot and they died, for whatever reasons.  Their children shouldn’t be given free rides to the top just because others feel they are more trustworthy or earned such an opportunity with a kin’s sacrifice.  What’s the point of sacrifice if it earns you a free ride?  Fuck that! It’s the equivelant of reverse bloodline killing - it’s bloodline favoritism and it fucking destroys every foundation of this thing of ours and disenfranchises those who may actually one day prove their worth again - the hard way.

Now to the issue of what happened in THIS circumstance.  It’s obvious that Detroit feels at least SOME remorse and shame, but I wonder aloud if they truly understand how bad they fucked up?  Many of us will never get the full story, chronology, and explanation of what decisions were made, how, by who, and why.. and maybe we aren’t owed that explanation behind what has been stated in the original satatements here...

But that doesn’t detract or eliminate the cause for alarm.  If Detroit leadership is provided THIS much verifiable proof of a wrongdoing by one of their members, particularly of an ulterior and most likely, malicious intent... it’s simply incredible they could justify in any way, allowing that person to be placed in a position of such great responsibility.  I’m sure they could juggle the heresay and the facts long enough to make an argument in favor of not eliminating that person without further proof... but allowing that individual to wear a bold suit under such circumstances is beyond comprehension.  In the old days, the entirety of Detroit would have turned into one giant pool of blood for such a miscalculation.

But don’t mischaracterize my statements - I’m not in a position of authority like those of my better forebears.  Hell, I haven’t even taken the time to dedicate myself accordingly due to other obligations.  I just want to make it clear that some of us aren’t this fucking stupid, naive, or ignorant to what has been done in the past and what sort of fucking mess this turned out to be.

Don’t paint lipstick on a pig and then tell us it can fly.  That shit flies as far as your arguments have in my book.

Detroit has some serious fucking soul searching to do - and don’t even think of directing your anger at me or others who have expressed their frustration here.  It’s not OUR fuck up.  YOU need to wear the goddamn lipstick.  Whether you fly or no is up to you.

Sincerely,

V

If this ended at the death of Alice it would be fair to move on from this. To never push for more information about what happened in Detroit. But it hasn't ended. Now Rayden has been hitlisted (again) and I'm receiving telegrams asking for donations to help remove this hit. Let me show everyone an example of the telegrams I'm receiving. That I'm receiving in Vegas.

Faith held up a piece of paper, the telegram she received. Not once, but twice. The urgency was there. Money was needed.

Vegas, which is just around 2,000 miles away from Detroit is now asking their members to help bail out Rayden from a situation she brought on herself, her district and her city. Rayden, Serana, why should other cities near and far help out Detroit with this financial burden? Detroit picked Alice. Detroit was weary of authing Alice. Detroit had doubts about authing Alice. Detroit authed Alice. Detroit killed Alice ten days later. Why should the rest of the cities in our world take on this burden with Detroit with no further explanation on these events?

Peter walks up the the streets, seeing the commotion die down, but feels the need to speak up.

As a lowly gangster to these streets I feel I must echo the comments of some of the others, why was this allowed to happen in the first place?  If there was such a body of evidence it stands to reason that the chance should not have been granted.

Looking through my own family history I can't find many, if any, references to people being granted authorisation to wear a bold suit with such doubts.  Even in possibly rare occasions of a city cleaning up any nefarious people it was generally customary to remove the leader, not necessarily the entire family from the lowest gangster to the higher ranks.

I feel that all the recent hit listings have shown that clearly things were amiss and at risk, adding that perhaps Detroit would not be in such a situation if it had better vetted it's potential leaders.

"Firstly, as I said.. "Unless you have some way of teaching us", take it elsewhere, we don't need it - it's useless to us. You should learn to read entire sentences."

"Secondly, I don't think you're in a position to say my ancestors didn't give a shit - that would be invalid. They certainly gave a shit and there was obviously a lot more going on to cause their retirement (Definitely retirement.. Not suicide. No brains were harmed). However, since you seem to be incapable of understanding basic English, I will reiterate the entire reason I gave you the effort of a response: Past actions do not necessarily pave our future ones and should certainly not be the sole way of judging a mafioso of this world. As for learning not to come to the Streets, you're probably right. If I had learned that sooner, I wouldn't have made the illogical move in dedicating time to dignify you with a response."

"Now, if you don't mind.. I have responsibilities to take care of. Enjoy the rest of your 'discussion'."

End of the day if she wasn't given a chance some would say it's holding back a bloodline due to the actions of her ancestors. Giving her a chance you got people screaming about how stupid it is to give someone with such a checkered past a chance. There's no winning.

Leaves fall off the tree, or in this case are cut off from the branch before the sickness that lies within it infects the tree. Sucks to see it happen but it's worse when you have to do pruning because one madhatter decides to take it out on residents she's worked beside that had no qualms with her.

Rayden chose to inform the masses, now it's time to move on. If her being hitlist concerns you or makes you want to raise discussions about it take it elsewhere or into a private room. If you want some closure on what happened then listen up.

Rest In Peace to those that never got to wake up due to a rogue CL in their own city.

You are right AnthonyCosta, bloodlines can change for the better.  However I'd counter that with why was the entire family then killed?  If Alice was the risk, why not just remove Alice?  To me, as unpopular as this might be, there was a thought of additional rogue elements within that crew... which takes us right back to the point of why was Alice authorised in the first place.

Report Post Tip

I can only make assumptions but we all know the famous expression about assuming. Though I believe strongly it was in hopes we the community would see her do well and turn a new leaf. I've spoken to her kin numerous times over past year and change. She's ambitious, hard working, dedicate, and good with teaching people the ropes be it new lines or old ones. Imagine if we saw those qualities and traits used to assist in making a united and fortified city? Sadly seems those talents have gone to waste much like Rayden stated.

Report Post Tip

But that's not the same as someone being outright undeserving of a position of power anymore because they made bad decisions last time. "

Will use an example here. Person A ancestors have been known to rogue and help rogues. Multiple times over the last year. Should they have gotten a postion of power? That is asking for bad shit to happen.

I wouldn't have made the illogical move in dedicating time to dignify you with a response

Yet here you still are. You said things were handled internally. If I asked the crewleaders around  would they say the same? Handled internally?  But we ask for money to help on hitlist. You should choose your words better. Rayden did a great job explaining the reasoning behind it. You ruined it by trying to tell people off when you had no place too.

"Sec0ondly, I don't think you're in a position to say my ancestors didn't give a shit - that would be invalid. They certainly gave a shit and there was obviously a lot more going on to cause their retirement (Definitely retirement.. Not suicide. No brains were harmed).

Twice our ancestor have been in the same family. Twice you had been the leader. Twice you killed yourself and left your crew without saying anything because your rhm had died/been killed.  Clearly history repeats itself so the whole " I don't wanna judge people for there past actions" is bullshit. Yeah maybe I should learn how to read complete sentences, but let's deal with facts, how did your last two ancestors who obtained  a position of power go out.   Id rather not call you out in the streets and ill leave it at that, but you should not have given the first response you did.

BWR approaches the discussion with an odd look on his face:

Earlier, when I found myself on the hitlist because of her inability to handle her own member, I was, needless to say, disappointed in her.

Honey, you SHOULD have known who you were dealing with. In fact, I'm pretty sure you did know, yet you chose to ignore all warnings. Here you thought you could just act tough and just kill whoever the fuck you wanted just because they were in your city, right? WRONG. That normally works on OTHER people... Not the person you were dealing with. The moment you decided to pull the trigger on my father was the moment you signed your death warrant. That's not me threatening you by the way, I'm just following my father's umm... Let's say "Last will"

See, before dying, my father left a note, on it he wrote to his killer: "From now on, live every day, like it was your last day on Earth. (:"

Did you think that was a joke? I mean, it kinda was haha. But in all seriousness, you kinda fucked yourself over by doing that.

He also ordered his descendants to contact you with instructions asking how you wanted to die, you were given MULTIPLE options, some in which your own descendants would be left with a pretty good chunk of money, but for some weird ass reason you decided to ignore the messages.

Soo since you didn't want to decide how you wanted to die he chose for you, and let me tell you this.

YOU WILL DIE

There's no avoiding it.

There is no hiding from it.

These are the consequences of dealing with powers muuuch much higher than your own.

Now go ahead and make your entire city along with the rest go completely broke trying to save your literally damned life. The end result WILL be the same, trust me.

Know this tho, once you die, DT will be able to keep on going completely fine, and your descendants will have nothing to worry about either as they will not be prosecuted because of your actions.

So, now that you know this tell me, was killing an Earner, then giving his CL a loooot of shit for not doing it herself, worth all this? Or would it have been better if you just minded your own business?

I legitimately would like to know your answer, or you can just choose to ignore it as last time, either way is fine I guess.

May your soul rest in heaven, Godfather Rayden, you chose your path.
