Marie watched as the construction workers were carrying out the last of the equipment and un-used materials.  She had not been able to begin work on this place until after Andrew and his gang of misfits had been ran out of town, but with a lot of political pressure and enough cash flashed at the right people she had managed to put a rush on this job.  Taking a look at the new building, she smiled.  It had turned out even better than she had imagine.

Patiently she waited for her Right Hand man to show up.  She had called him earlier to give him the address and told him she needed to show him something she had found.  It really was a jewel of a building, located just down the road from her headquarters.  She could not wait for him to arrive.  A new era was definitely rising in Southside and it was an exciting time for all of them.

She walked over to a table that held some champagne on ice and two stemmed glasses.  Now all she needed was The-Dubliner.

It was a nice day out. Spring time in the windy city is gorgeous so Dub decided to walk down the street to the meeting place Marie had requested. She didn't sound hurried when she called, but Dub figured he may as well make it a brisk walk. He had on his best vest and tie and had a piece in hand ready to go if it were necessary. 

As he walked around the last corner, he saw some construction workers walking out of the building Marie had described. 

"Peculiar." he thought. 

He opened the doors and stepped inside allowing his eyes but a moment to adjust to the darker lighting of the interior. He, almost immediately, made eye contact with Marie.

"What's all this?"

"Ah Dub there you are!  Come over here and get yourself a glass of champagne.  I picked up this Italian imported bottle while I was in Cuba for this exact moment."  He came over and took the glass from her with a questioning expression.  

Marie left him hanging a bit more and continued, "We have been together for a little while now and I have come to a conclusion.  You need an opportunity to expand your wings and see just exactly what you can accomplish.  You have been a phenomenal Right Hand Man to me so I have no doubts that you will do great things.  You are just the man I need to help me grow and expand our operations here in Southside.  That is why I am kicking you out of the nest my dear!"

She picked up a set of keys and handed them to him.  "Welcome home to your new headquarters, Don The-Dubliner.  May fortune favor all your endeavors."  She raised her glass and clinked it again his before drinking to his success.

"Well, I'm speechless. The first of my line to have this honor. I won't lie, I didn't expect this."

 Dub raises his glass with Marie. 

"Here's to not disappointing, Miss Lucania." Dub takes a drink of his champagne and looks back at Marie, "I'll do what I can to further South Side, but, moreover, the whole of Chicago."
