The Fighter Started by: MS on May 10, '18 03:47

It had to be close to one o'clock in the morning by now. She wasn't hundred percent sure, but somewhere around there. Whatever time it was didn't change her emotions though. She was tired and beaten, and the rain just beat down upon her even more, hitting her like salt poured all over her wounds.

The truth was, she had wounds all over her body. The 20 year old girl was a fighter by trade; fighting was the only thing she knew. Growing up in an abusive house with 6 older brothers, she was used to fighting. Plus, the fighting for money gave her a reason to cover up the bruises received outside of the ring. No one ever knew. No one ever cared.

That's why she was here; no one cared. No one would miss her. No one would probably even know she had gone missing, or gone dead really. Plus, it was dark and rainy, so she hoped no one would notice her in a black shirt standing on the edge of a cliff. She had run here, so there wasn't even a car parked on the side of the road to give a hint. This is the perfect way to go. On her terms and not at the hand of another. This was how it was meant to be.

MS had been debating this for a while, but she had finally had enough of the constant beating. When she was fighting she was being hit. When she wasn't fighting she was being hit. She was tired of just always being hit, so this was the only way she could think of to end it all. She looked out of the edge, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. It would all be over soon.

The wind hugged her body. The rain pounded unto her skin. It was just her and the air around her. And the cliff. Her sweet end to all of this. Keeping her eyes closed, picturing Joe's face...poor Joe. She was smiling, ready to see him again. He had told him she would be with him soon, and that was a week ago. A week was soon, right? Soon enough for her. She missed him so much. So much that she felt his hand on her waistband, the place his hand always went to.

MS took a step closer to the edge, to a new beginning for her. Her foot was still on the cliff, but her toes were resting on air, just like her body would be soon. This wind would be nothing compared to the whooshing sound that was about to greet her with just one more step...

One more step.

'Don't jump."

The sound was quiet, fragile. Then there was a hand on her shoulder, and MS turned around, her eyes opening quickly. "Get away from here. You could die." She said, grabbing the boy and pulling him away from the edge. Seeing that stranger so near the edge, the very edge she was about to put herself over, kicked her protective side into gear. For being one so ready to end her own life, she couldn't put someone else's life to risk. If he went over because of him, that would be the second person she would blame herself for. Poor MS.

"You shouldn't be out so late." MS said, letting go of this stranger the instant they were far enough away from the cliffs. "You'll catch a cold."
