A Poor soul Started by: MS on May 14, '18 15:07

It is quiet all throughout the hospital. The sun has yet to show it's shining beauty to this distorted youth as her eyes eagerly await it's burning rays to burst through the slightly open curtains of her small white room. The sound of machines at work is all that come to MS's ears. The beeping and pumping were starting to annoy her but there is nothing she can do about it so he tries to break them from her thoughts.

In doing so her mind brings her back to the only thing she can remember before she woke up seconds ago. The sun was sinking into the woodland hills throughout Coldwater as MS struggles to stand. The rain pushes down heavily on her back as the dark clouds release the water they have so willingly collected over the past weeks. The cold water dripping down her body washes away the dry blood that oozed from the open gash in her forehead.

She can't remember the last time she had felt such refreshing, yet at the same time freezing, liquid against her pale skin. In amazement she looks down to see the steam escaping her lips as she exhales from the short breaths. Unfortunately the feeling had vanished before she could summon the energy to smile for all the energy she had remaining suddenly leaves. Causing her to collapse on soft, wet grass.

The next thing MS can remember is she wakes up in this hospital, covered in bandages. Her head wrapped in clean white bandages where a doctor had sewn shut the gap in her head before applying the wrappings. Her entire right arm has been wrapped in the same white bandages, she can remember numbingly being awake while they examined her arm.

The doctors spoke of how most of the tendons had been torn apart, making it not only harder to heal the muscle tissue but leaving MS incapable of using the arm. Parts of her legs had seen the same 'treatment'. While her left forearm rests in a cast, for the outer bone had been broken in two. As for her forehead, it seems that MS had fallen hard on something when she collapsed outside of the hospital. Thankfully someone went on a smoke break when they did. Any longer and MS might have died for hypothermia and/or blood loss.

It has been two months since that faithful day and MS has yet to recover any memory of the past four years. Family and friends have come to visit her every day at visiting hours. Unfortunately for everyone it has been difficult for MS to remember who they are, much less who she is. Fragments of her memory come back from time to time. Like her ability to understand speech, though her vocal cords were damaged severally in his time of missing. Her remaining senses are as sharp as ever, though.

Finally MS has been given what she has wished for all morning, the warming sun's rays against her almost pale face. This also means that her friends will be coming soon. Though she does not remember who they are before she came to THM Hospital she very much enjoys their company. Slowly she struggles to turn her head toward the door, awaiting her friends and family's arrival. Strands of her neck length red hair fall in front of her lime green eyes, though as much as she'd like to move them from her face she can't seem to move either of her hands. A tiny smile as she can muster appears upon her lips.

LillisMolly walked through the halls of the hospital, the white walls haunting her with memories of others she had visited in the hospital. She wrapped her arms around herself, causing the black sweater she was wearing to tighten slightly around her. She gazed at the ground, somewhat dreading seeing her friend MS, for she was warned she may not remember her, or anyone else for that matter. LillisMolly stood outside MS’s room for a few moments, staring at the room number. She took in a deep breath, and entered. Her heart nearly stopped when she saw MS, it pained her to see a friend in the hospital, and MS even seemed so weak. It made LillisMolly feel sick to her stomache for a moment. Taking in another breath, she walked up to MS and sat in a chair and looked at her for a while, then she looked at the floor and back up, "Hello MS.." she said quitley, her voice slightly sad.

Report Post Tip

A lot of things ran through her head as she awaited all who would come through that door today. Memories of yesterday shine through her mind as she blinks dust from her eyes. A rather old woman was sitting by her bedside and she was holding onto MS’s hand tightly, though MS could only slightly feel it through all the bandages on her arm.

About a week ago MS had gathered the strength to lift her left hand and remove part of the bandages on her right. Shock and fright overwhelmed her as she set her eyes upon the many holes where her tendons would be. But what frightened her the most is the large slash down her forearm, from wrist to elbow. Approximately thirty-nine stitches. Now every time she looks down at that arm a strong urge to cry in anger comes to her, but with hardly any energy to do so she restrains.

Her mind withdraws from the thoughts of anger of who did these things to her back to the woman who would cry every time she saw MS. MS knew not why for she does not know this woman... or at least doesn't remember her. According to the doctors MS has a serious case of amnesia, though it should not last for too long. In most cases people regain all of their memories.

The first thought that come to mind in regaining her memory is finding out who had done this to her. And most importantly... why? Luckily for MS's weakened state of mind someone has planted their lips upon her forehead, distracting her from the angering thoughts lingering in her mind.

Cara... Cara... C. A. R. A....Cccaaarrraaa. This matured woman's name echoes in her mind but nothing rings a bell. To MS she does not exist within the realm of her memories and this confuses MS for she doesn't know how to react to her. Is she a good friend? Is she family? Or was she someone I hated? These confusing questions are what ring most in her mind when new people come to see her. Though she doesn't know it the woman latching to her hand, the woman who kisses her upon the forehead every morning, she is her mother. And it saddens her that every day her baby girl doesn't know who she is but she subsides as someone enters the room.

Many people have come and visited her since she had come to this hospital but none had dared to touch MS for fear of hurting her, or so she assumes. MS wishes the bandages weren't so tight on her skull but she saw what lies beneath it so it is for the better.
