MS placed the barrel of her gun between the eyes of the unfortunate man she had been hired to kill. The man was sweating and crying, knowing he was staring death in the face. MS used her thumb to slide the hammer back, loading a bullet into the chamber. She then pulled the trigger, causing an explosion of blood and brain matter, or bloback as the police and hitmen called it. The man fell on his back, his ruddy face pierced with a bullet hole. The blood had stained MS's white shirt. She leaned down and picked up the shell casing, then slipped it in her pocket. She returned the gun to the holster she was wearing and left the apartment. Housekeeping would find a rather gruesome site in the morning. She headed into the bathroom and scrubbed her hands and face to remove any blood and gunpowder residue. MS also removed her shirt and tied it into a wad. She put on the green shirt she had stashed in here earlier and slipped her shirt into her pocket.
MS walked to the elevator and pressed the call button. There was a five minute wait, and when it opened, a couple who had just checked in exited. MS gave them a smile as she pushed past and hit the button for the first floor. She rode the elevator down and then left the hotel. She picked up her keys from the valet and found her car with a fake license plate put on. She opened the door and got inside. After starting it, she backed out of the garage and headed home. After pulling in to her garage, she tossed the bloody shirt into a dog kennel, where it would be chewed up. She also stuck her gun into a paint can. Putting on a smile, she entered her house and sat in her chair. "Wonder what's on TV?" She wondered aloud as she picked up the remote and began to channel surfing. |
