"Hey, Kittie! It's time to go!"

Star grabbed her coat and her keys from the hooks by the door and pulled on her hat, pulling it over the pin curlers and kerchief she had in her hair. She would take them out at the office later but they were going to be late if they didn't get a move on. Today was Kittie's first official day on the job as her associate and she had a lot to show her new hire.

Funny, Kittie was her age, a friend from childhood and both of their paths had diverged after graduation. Star had been through a few hard knocks before landing in Philly, eventually finding shelter with her bosses crew almost a year before. She was surprised how well she had adapted to a life of crime and, where others preferred more violent means, Star had learned that stealth suited her best. With Kittie on her side, the two of them would make a formidable pair. The shadows were their friends, the back alleys were where they got their info, and the both of them kept the local apothecary busy. A loud clatter came from the hallway as Kittie scrambled to grab her coat from the back of the chair in the kitchen. 

"Sorry Star!" She said breathlessly as she swept out the door, allowing Starshine to lock it behind her. Her hair was still damp from her shower and hung limply down her neck and shoulders. Star tutted as she picked up one of the soft brown locks and shook her head. 

"I guess the first step is the salon to get your hair set. Then we need to talk wardrobe, you can't keep wearing my old rags. If I'm going to show you the ropes around here, we've got to get you in something fashionable but practical!"
