The paperwork was scattered all over the desk. Luna made a quick notion to her crew mate to get the boss lady a fresh cup of coffee. Luna knew she was exhausted from all the shit that's been happening across all the families who resided within the mafia. Luna felt her sorrow, but right now it was time for revival. Luna thought of her other crew mate, who had been up all night last night drinking himself away into unconsciousness. She felt sorry for him but she thought it would be best that she give him some space. His father would've been proud, she knew it. 

Today was the day when new and old bloods would come together. Bringing more new recruits was her boss's goal as of right now. Bodies were being taken left and right, and Luna felt her heart ache again at the thought of it. All of a sudden the crew mate who she asked to get a cup of coffee, bursted in the room looking flustered. 

Boss lady finally looked up. Luna kept her head down, not knowing what her next words will be. 

"This better be really important because I'm not in the right mind space right now." She uttered. 

"Yes, boss lady. Uhh... the newly found recruits are here. Also some of them are survivors." 

She jumped out of her seat. "Oh my oh my. Okay, I'll be down in a minute." 

Luna admired the fighting spirit within her, and hopefully one day, she too, could have the courage to lead a family but right now her focus was on her boss lady and crew mates who she confided in always. 

Luna, the boss lady and the crew mate all walked down the staircase together. Honestly, they were all tired and would want nothing more than to snuggle with their partners but this was a special occasion. It was the first day of recruitment and significant progress is already being made. When Luna took a glance at the recruits, who ranged from short to tall, emaciated-looking to buff and many other different qualities. Although there was one particular person who stood out the most for Luna. 

"Psst... is that... he looks like..." Luna whispered to her crew mate. 

"Omg.. could it be?" 

The long brown hair, his tall and slim figure, oh and that...charming smile. 

"Well, he did mention having a son." Boy, they did look so alike. Luna remembered the boss lady showing her a few pictures of her best buddies back in her teenager days. 

After a moment of staring that seemed like forever, the boss lady cleared her throat. "Don't panic. All of you are being chosen. The last thing I would want is for any of you to be identified as rogue by enemies. Trust me, I'll be the first one to tell you - none of us underground leaders play around. First up.." 

A woman came to the front. The first words she said gracefully slipped right off her tongue, like it was meant to be.
