"Mmmmmm" Marie began to stir awake as the light filtered into the room from outside.  She blinked and tried to get her bearings.  Looking over at Sal the memories from the former night came back to her and she smiled.  They both had been so exhausted that they had fallen asleep on the couch holding each other.  Marie was beyond thankful that they had not gotten around to opening that second bottle of tequila.  She hated hang overs and much preferred waking up with no pounding headaches. 

Marie got up off the couch with out waking Sal.  It was still early and if he could get a bit more sleep it would be good.  He had had even less sleep than she had the last few days.  She walked over to the window and stretched out her aching muscles as she basked in the light.  

Lucky slowly starts to wake and it takes him a min to figure out where he was. When he saw Marie standing by the window he remembered. He had slept peacefully for the first time in a long time and it was on a couch that he and Marie had shared. He slowly stood up and stretched. 

"Morning. How did you sleep?" he asked her. 

Marie turned and smiled at Lucky.  "I slept really good.  The alcohol did wonders to relax me.  Thank you for it... and the company."  Marie shifted uncomfortably uncertain what to say or do.  "Uh there are some showers down the hall and I can get one of the guys to find some fresh clothes for you.  If you like.  I plan to take a shower and then grab some breakfast in the kitchen."

"The company was great. But I am a little confused about one thing? you said you where sorry. I am not sure what for?" he said to her. 

Lucky walked over to where Marie was standing and looked out the window as well. 

"I dont know what you have to be sorry for." he told her. 

She shook her head and looked down.  She spoke softly, "I pushed you away.  I got scared and pushed you away again."

Lucky used his hand and placed a finger on her chin making her look at him. 

"With everything that happened why would you bring that up?" he asked her. 

Marie looked at him quizzically.  "I wronged you.  When a person wrongs another person they care about they should admit it and apologize when they realize it."

Lucky looks into Marie's eyes for a moment before responding. 

"I guess I meant what does it mean. and don't give you are sorry... I get that. but..." he stops to try and gather his thoughts. 

Lucky was confused. Why would she bring this up... what does it mean... what does she want?

"What do you want?" he asks. 

Marie looked out the window for a moment and then nodded to herself.  She reached down and took Sal by the hand and lead him back to the couch.  She sat down with him and turned to face him.  

"I am going to try and be as clear as I can be, but this is all a jumble mess in my head right now so hear me out.  I have feelings for you.  I have always had feelings for you and I have pushed you away.. twice.  I have a track record of hurting you.  When you ask me what I want I feel like what I want should not even be in the equation.  I don't have a right to ask you for anything.  And this doesn't even take into consideration Roman.  I had feelings for him as well.  They were not the same, but I still cared for him deeply.  What kind of a person loses a love one and before the dirt has even become cold on their grave, has thoughts and desires to be with someone else?"

She shakes her head and wiped a tear that had came to her eye.  "I don't know.  This is probably not making any sense at all.  Hell I can't hardly make sense of it all."

Lucky pulls her close and gently kisses her a few moments later he broke the kiss and looked her in the eyes. 

"You can have all the time you need just don't push me away again," he says to her. 

Marie nodded and smiled.  "I won't."  She reached out to take his hand in hers and she squeezed it tightly.  "I will work through this."  She pulled his hand up to her lips to kiss it.  "With you beside me I know I can survive anything."  She smiled again.  "We will get through all this together."
