CONFIDENTIAL

CORRADO'S FACILITIES FOR CRIMINAL CHILDREN

From: Chief Operating Officer of C.F.C.
To: Assigned guardian/parent of Luna Gato

Due to notice from the police, there is no other choice left but to confine your daughter to our rehabilitation facilities. It has become obvious that her recent activities as a dangerous criminal means she is not only a risk to herself, but also to the community that you reside in. It will be in everyones best interest if you allow us to take your child for an extended period of time until we decide that she can be a productive member of society.

Teenage delinquents from the ages of 12-18 are taken in, for crimes from petty robbery to assault. We ensure 100% achievement rate that your daughter will be 'recovered' when they are released. Every day, your child is required to attend a minimum of two hours in counselling circles and discipline classes. There are set feast times, sleep times and recreational tasks.

We give a set uniform to all inpatients of Corrado - Dark pants and a navy blue shirt for young men. Dim skirt and blue shirt for young ladies.

Our offices are completely isolated and set somewhere down Alpine Forest, around 75 miles from the closest town. Hence, we can ensure the wellbeing of your little creature. The West Wing is for young ladies, and the East Wing is for young men. We have an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where the youngster will be detached on the off chance that they get out of hand.

We have a canteen, a back yard, and a few common rooms- ideal for any childhood. Children are allowed visits once a month from family members.

We are expecting you.

Earnestly,

Dr Barinch.

6 months later
Luna familiarized herself with the freezing temperatures of January and the cold mattress given to her on her first day, which hadn't been changed since then. The smell of sweat and tears stained the cover, making the colour of the blue fabric fade immensely. She looked out at the single window built into the stone walls of her tainted room and started to feel dizzy and weak. The food provided was nothing more than a bowl of porridge accompanied with a piece of wheat bread smaller than the size of her palm. A cup of vegetables was optional.

Yesterdays usual routine of waking up at 6am to get the daily breakfast feed started to become all she ever knew. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone was enemies inside reform school. Surprisingly, she could make friendly conversation with the other delinquents but there was always an awkward tension in the air that she never cared to address. Luna was just trying to get through it all, hoping her day of release would soon come. It had already been six months since being registered into reform school.

When she was guided into the building and her assigned room, she almost felt relieved because she wouldn't have to keep feeling guilty about renting a tiny apartment above a restaurant, most of the time she was asked not to pay. At least now, she was given a new home where she could eat, sleep and shit without embarrassment.

Not that it was any cleaner.

The female bathrooms gave off a disgusting stench, she couldn't even think about how the male bathrooms were. The males and females were separated, but there was times when she was joined by a male on cleaning duty. She still remembered one day when she had met a boy named Dominic. His energetic vibe was hard to forget. Luna couldn't help but wish that fate would bring them together again.

On this particular day, she felt extremely anxious but also territorial. The officers gave her early notice that she would be getting a roommate. She didn't know how to react. Her whole life she had been abandoned by everyone and everything she ever knew. All she had was herself. Luna fought with herself to act calm and collected when her roommate would come. She hoped that her resting bitch face wouldn't make her roommate assume that she was cold blooded or mean. That's the last thing she wanted.

Luna had never shown it before, but deep down, she had a soft side.
