Pulling up in her shiny Bugatti Royale and wearing blood red Ferragamo shoes with lips to match, Allison was much more likely to be pegged as a model rather than someone who's looking to make it in the mafia. But looks are deceiving and so is she - Ali may have come from a glamorous and lavish life but it's certainly not one she's cut out for, especially not when she has a murderous ex-fiance who's coming for her head for breaking off their engagement ( Before she got to all of that, however, she had to get a decent meal inside her - she's been driving for God knows how long that her stomach was making the same sounds her car's engine was. Stepping out into the New York night, she felt a smile creep up on her face as she took in the new sights. Not knowing where to go next, Allison chose to wander around until she found a small hotdog stand with a bench conveniently next to it. "One, please." Allison said, her accent thick, afterward plopping down on the bench with her small meal, watching the people come and go and hoping one of them would strike up a conversation with her and introduce her to this foreign city. |

Star made her way out of downtown after shaking down a few of the county clerk officers who owed her a favor. New York wasn’t her home but she did enough business in the city to pull her weight. By the time the late afternoon rolled around, she was famished and the park always had a few vendors who sold cheap food. A hot dog sounded good, loaded with all the extras and as she took the dog from the vendor, she scouted for a place to sit. Close by was a bench and there was a spot on the opposite end of where a, frankly, drop dead gorgeous young woman sat. She popped down on the edge and pulled the paper away from her dog, taking a bite before wiping her mouth with a napkin. Always one to be sociable, Star turned to the woman and greeted her.
”These dogs are pretty good huh? Just the perfect thing after a long day. What brings someone looking like you here to Bew York?” |

Allison first noticed how her bright red lips contrasted her pale, delicate face. Then her eyes inevitably traveled to the absolutely loaded hotdog the woman was carrying. "Hungry, aren't we?" She asked the stranger with a chuckle, unable to help herself from commenting. "No judgment though, I know the feeling. These hot dogs are truly divine." Allison agreed, taking a bite off of her own hotdog, mulling over how she should answer the woman's second question. "And... I'm just here to see the sights, at least for tonight. Tomorrow, I'm off to Las Vegas for a... job." She answered vaguely, not wanting to divulge too much to a complete stranger. "And you, what were you up to in the Big Apple? Oh, and I'm Allison by the way." The blonde introduced herself, sticking out her free hand, hoping she wiped all the ketchup off. |

Star giggled, her cheeks flaming a little as she glanced at her own dinner. “Oh, yes these hot dogs are divine. I try to get one each time I come here to New York on business.” She bit her lip, inferring from the young woman that the “job” she was referring to was a little more on the illegal side of the spectrum. She knew a lot about that much as she didn’t look it and she gave Allison a wry smirk. “I’m Star, nothing more to my name than that. I’m uh, just hot off a job myself. Traveled up here to take care of some business before I head back to Philly. You know they have amazing sandwiches there?” She offered her own hand towards Allison in a friendly gesture, smiling as she took the other woman’s hand in a strong grasp. |

"Each time you come to New York... so you come around the city often, then?" Allison asked, raising an eyebrow. Somehow, she feels like she's found a friend on this cold New York bench, and the way Star answered gave the blonde an idea their jobs were more alike than they let on. "You've got to show me around when we have the time then. When our jobs aren't in the way." She added, emphasizing the word 'jobs', fishing for confirmation that they were actually on the same side of the tracks. Shaking her head no, Allison felt heat rush to her cheeks when asked a question about Philly. "No, I actually didn't. I'm not from the Americas, you see. I'm sure my accent gives it away, yes?" Allison answered, shaking the woman's hand. "Though I would definitely love to visit and try this sandwich you speak of. Not sure it will hold a candle to this hotdog, though." Allison said with a small laugh. |

"Often as I can," Star said with a smile, neatly folding the parchment paper her hot dog had come wrapped in before wiping her hands clean. "I'd love to show you around, I know all the good places, especially if you're in the market for hooch." She winked and nodded, indicating that she was, indeed, aware of what Allison meant. Sure they might be from completely different cities and the code of silence was strong enough to close her lips as tightly as if she had licked a spoon of alum, but it was that unspoken acknowledgment between them that neither of them was completely within the realm of legality in their respective...jobs. As Allison mentioned not being from America, Star's expression softened and her typical American accept slipped back into her comfortable Irish. "Neither am I darlin' but I had to make do. Got told by me mum that I wasn't supposed to speak like this as it's well known how much people hate immigrants from Ireland. Accent or no though, you've got everything you need to be a success. And when you come to Philly, you can have a sandwich and some birch beer on me." |

The sound of brakes hissing and screeching jolted Luna forwards.
She rubbed the side of her head and yawned lightly, trying to wake herself up. She looked out the window of the train and noticed the iconic Empire State Building, hiding behind another building. We’re here, she said to herself and took a deep breath. The metal doors of the train swiftly opened, so it was her cue to get out.
She patiently waited for other people to get out before her, then she finally picked up her red, leather suitcase. Luna stepped off the platform, and breathed in the chilly air. She was grateful for the silk scarf that wrapped around her neck and protected her from the wind, but she wasn’t particularly happy about the choice of a sheer black dress. Luna’s black t-straps click-clacked along the exit of the train station and headed for a park that was surrounded by more buildings and construction sites.
Luna suddenly started to feel dizzy, and reached out to steady herself but was soon met with a throbbing pain in her head. “Gosh dammit. What is it now.” She noticed a bench, that was already occupied by two ladies but she continued towards it.
“Mind if I sit?” |

Alison smiled with exhilaration - she hadn't even been in the country for a day yet and already, she's ran into someone from the same line of business... into someone who seems to understand her roots more than she'd expect for a mafioso. Star's Irish accent surprised her - the other woman sounded so eloquent and well-versed in the American accent that Allison would've never thought she was faking it. Making a mental note to start learning how to lose her accent, Ali beamed at Star. "I'll hold you to that. Not sure when this life will take me to Philly soon, but I'll remember that promise nonetheless." Allison was about to say goodbye when a woman approached them, seemingly in pain and growing paler by the second. Ali's brows furrowed with worry, and she rushed to stand up to give room to the new stranger. "Go right ahead, darling!" Ali said, helping the woman sit down with her dizziness. "Are you alright? Do you need anything, Miss?" |
