Lucky was meeting Marie to show her a perfect spot he found for them to have a home built. The land was a park type area right on a little private lake. He had looked into and because of the depression, the city could not fund the park so Lucky good get a good price on it. It was a very nice area, although a little overgrown, that encircled a private lake. There was only one road that leads to it so security would be easier and they could build the home to their specifications. 

Lucky stood outside his car with Junior and smoked a cigarette while they waited for Marie. They looked at the deer and ducks along with the rest of the wildlife that called this place home. 

"I think a peaceful place like this would be perfect for us. Allow us to get away from it all at the end of the day" He said to Junior. 

A black sedan pulls up along side of Lucky's car and the driver, Mat, got out and opened the door for Marie.  Marie took Mat's hand and allowed him to assist her out of the car.  Taking a look around she looked questionably at Lucky.  Walking up to him she greeted him hello with a kiss.  "Were is the house?" she asked.

Marie had a home in the Loop, but the couple had decided that they needed to get a place that was more centrally located between their two respective headquarters.  Earlier today, Lucky had called to say he had a place he had wanted to show her so she left things in @Coltrane's capable hands.

Lucky walked over and kissed Marie and looked at her with a smile. He had not filled her in on his idea. 

"Well, its right where we decide to build it." He says with a smile. 

Lucky took Marie's hand and they started walking the area and headed to the lake and the beautiful view it had. 

"Imagine having this view in the morning to have coffee too, or at night for a drink before bed," he said to her. 

"The whole area provides to building a compound, but doing so it doesn't block this view," he tells her pointing out over the lake. 

"A compound?"  She looked at him.  "I thought we were looking for a house.  Why would we need to build a compound?

They stop by the lake and sit on a bench that was put there for the park. 

Lucky had to find a way to explain so that Marie would understand why the need for a compound.  Neither of them, especially him who lives in an apartment above his bar, where into big homes. 

"I know neither of us is the type to think of a compound. But we have to," he says to her

"You are the godfather of Chicago we need to think of security for you. I want a place where we can feel safe when we sleep." he says to her. 

Marie sighed heavily.  "I don't like that my position will put my family in danger."  She slipped her arm around him and laid her head against his shoulder as they held each other.  "You are right though.  We need to think about security, especially if a baby is to ever enter into this equation of ours.  What kind of house do you think we should build?"

Lucky lays his head gently on Marie's then lifts it and kisses the top of her head. 

"Well, I think it has to be larger than we are used to. While it's our home it may need to hold several of our men in times of war. Plus we will want to be able to have gatherings here." Lucky stopped to think a minute. 

"We will need offices for us both to work out of. several bedrooms for the five kids" he said giving her a rye smile. 

Lucky sat there and looked out over the water for a min. 

"I like this piece of land.  I think it will do."

Looking out over the water she asked Lucky, "Would you be okay if we just go before the Justice of peace to get married?  Just you, me, and a witness.  I really don't want to do a big old wedding."

Lucky sat there and thought about it for a min. 

"Well that would depend," he says pausing. 

Lucky knew this would not be the highlight of the conversation but he wanted to bring it up. He figured she might not even think about it. 

"Would you want your father there to walk you down the aisle."

"I know he mentioned he would love to... I would guess he left out the part of if it was someone he approved of. But I still thought I would mention it." he said looking at her. 

Marie tenses a bit at the mention of her father.  After a moment she said quietly, "I just don't know.  I don't even know if he would be willing to travel here from Italy.  I know that he likes you but..."  She shook her head, "I just don't know."

Lucky sits there and holds her tight he knows this is a tough subject for her. 

"I do not want to make things tough for you but it could be a chance to start to fix things if you wished," he said to her. 

Marie noded, "I will think about it.  Regardless, I would still like to keep it small.  Is that alright with you?"

"I am fine with that. But I have one condition... A big party." he says with a smile. 

"I think the community could use that. A reason to celebrate and be happy," he says to her.
