Higher whackback % on offline players Started by: Twist on May 31, '18 11:26
More and more over the years I am seeing sweeps of offline cities getting killed. I am not a big fan of the way this world is going. People wait for hours for someone to fall asleep or go to work. I don’t see how this is honorable at all but let’s not get off topic. Maybe if they raise the % on whackback on the offline player this will make people second guess sweeping a city with leaders offline. Or maybe put a timeframe such as it kicks in after a hour of being offline?

I also would like rank to be the determining factor of this because I just realized IA would be whacking back a lot. This idea would have a lot of rough edges to smooth out but the idea is out of the bag!

You mean that killings of entire families didn't go off in shady ways in the 30's?

That they didn't kill people during their sleep on their homes, along with the rest of the family?

I disrespectfully disagree! :)

I agree it's not really "honorable" to kill someone while sleeping, but it's not "illegal". We're playing a Mafia game, not monopoly. :P

Not every time someone died were they sleeping lol. Now a days you only die in your sleep unless there is a huge war lol. I’m not saying a huge amount maybe a 3% chance instead of 1 just enough to make someone think twice

I could accept such a boost if the "sleeping" player was in his home district when going offline. If he was anywhere else but "home", this should remain the same.

I agree with that . Great idea Like I said rough edges.

To be honest, I agree with anything that promotes wars over takedowns. If this is something that the admin feel can be smoothed out correctly enough and it increases the chance of actual head-to-head wars over simple takedowns... I'm definitely all for it.

Don't get me wrong - I know 'takedowns' were a thing in the 30s, I'm not blind to that. But this game really isn't 100% true to the real 1930s Mafia. So if we're going to have slight differences, I'd rather it be to improve the game-play of the entire community and in my opinion, more wars and less takedowns is a step in the right direction.

I'll need to dig through the suggestions forum, but I much preferred an old concept that was raised a long time ago.

1 shot kills shouldn't be a thing when taking on someone with 200 bodyguards. There should be an option, like OCs, to form a hit squad to take down the target.

This would allow for much more scope for change in the game as rogues would become far more effective if combined efforts were available. Instead of 1 person needing thousands of kills, a group with hundreds of kills each coming together to topple someone would be good.

Years ago we had regular cycles where a character was lucky to last 60 days. Im not saying we need to revert back to such a short time scale of life expectancy, but I do feel that characters living for so long is part of what causes the most problems in the game.

As for the above suggestion itself, wackback increasing where a person is asleep at their home district would be nice. Even if it only went to 2% instead of 1%, that extra little bit of risk is good.

I agree 200 fully trained you should never be able to kill with one shot. It should take more strategy and planning drop them down to 100 and yes maybe. It sure would make the game a lot more interesting and strategic.
