The Flamingo Opens it's Doors Started by: Hazel on Jun 04, '18 18:44

It was just another day for Hazel as she walked around the Mirage. Business was good, really good. The casino was packed, the table games were crowded and the booze was flowing like the Colorado River. With each hour that passed the casino was making tons of money, legal money of course. Which helped mask all the laundered money coming in the back door each day. It was truly a fantastic system, it kept everyone happy including Lucky and his behind the scene investors. How could they not be happy with the amount of money they were pulling in.

Once the busy hours of the casino had died down some of the trusted members of the Mirage went around to the table games to switch out the money boxes. This was a process that was done a couple times throughout the day, it was just part of the entire process. It was a system that worked and one that Hazel didn’t mess with, it was just one of those things; if it was t broke, why fix it. Plus it was how Lucky wanted it done and you don't go over the bosses head.

Now there were many things that Hazel had changed up as her time as Lucky's right hand but the financial system was not one of them. She did though monitor it, always keeping her eyes opened watching everything and everyone. She watched as all the boxes were brought to the back room, following close behind them. Once secure Hazel made her way back to the casino floor, did a bit of mingling with the high rollers before making her way back to the money room.

It never took them long to count and log the cash, the casino had the best technological counting system in the west. It was able to count cash quicker then it was put into the machine. The longest part was having to log the numbers then double, even triple check things. Luckily for Hazel, she had walked into the room just in time, as the last numbers were logged.

“Just in time boss lady.”

The accountant blurted out as he handed Hazel the ledger. She opened it up and looked over the numbers. She smiled as she seen the total, it was another record evening.

“Another nice night, Lucky will be pleased to see these numbers.”

The accountant looked up at her and smiled.

“Aye another record night oh and here these are the other numbers.”

The accountant slide her another ledger, the laundered funds ledger.

“Perfect, thanks Sam. You should get out of here for the evening, go see your wife and kids.”

Hazel tucked the ledgers under her arm and promptly headed out of the room. It was time for her to bring these to Lucky, so she made her way back through the casino and straight up to Lucky's office. He was sitting relaxing at his desk puffing on a cigar. He smiled but didn’t say a word as she entered his office. She was never one to knock, always just walked in when she needed to. Should she knock, yes but it wasn’t her style.

“Got your numbers for the evening, I think you’ll be happy.”

Hazel tossed the ledgers on Lucky's desk. He placed his cigar in an ashtray, sat up and glanced through them. He wasn’t worried about the details but just looked at the profit. Once he looked it over a big smile went onto his face as he picked his cigar back up and took a puff before leaning back into his chair.

“Seems we’re doing quite well around here nowadays, we are making more money then we know what to do with it. Speaking of which I have a bit of a proposition for you, so hear me out.”

He took one more puff of his cigar before speaking up.

“So not going to go into details but myself and our investors will be opening up a new casino just up the road. Need someone we can trust to take over operations, I know you haven’t been around these parts for as long as most but you’re definitely the one I trust the most to run us a success business. So what do you say, you want in? You’ll be one of the richest woman in Vegas, this I can guarantee.”

Hazel sat there in awe for a quick moment before smiling with a nod.

“I’m honored, yes of course I’ll do it. As if you really had to ask.” She said with a chuckle.

"You talking about The Flamingo?"

"Yup, that's the one!"

"Sounds good to me, when do I start?"

Lucky laughed a deep laugh.

"Uhm, now!"

A number of days had passed since Hazel had been tasked with taking over operations of Vegas's newest grand casino, The Flamingo. Knowing all too well what an incredibly busy time that can be, Nebula had delayed visiting Hazel in person to congratulate her. By now though she would be sure to be settling in, and so given that Nebula had planned to be in the area anyway, she decided to stop by.

He entered the The Flamingo through the main entrance and stopped to have a look around the place. Impressed, he headed towards the rear of the building before noticing one of Hazel's main bodyguards. If he was here, she was obviously here too. He approached the bodyguard who then happily escorted Nebula to the elevator and up to the floor that Hazel exclusively occupied. Stepping off the elevator, he thanked the bodyguard and could hear Hazel's voice further on down the corridor.

"Look! That's gone all over my brand new rug you stupid fool!" He heard coming from inside her suite.

Chuckling to himself he knocked on the door and entered. He saw a young man frantically trying to mop up red wine from the rug.

"You must have a death wish my son." Nebula said to the young waiter before then turning to Hazel.

"Congratulations, dear! I can't tell you how happy I was when I heard your news." He said as he cracked open a bottle of Champagne he had brought with him.

"You boy! Fetch us some glasses!" He said as he turned back to the waiter before sharing a laugh with Hazel after he exited the room.

Unhinged flops into the recliner, raises the foot rest and lets out a deep breath. Finally a moment where I can take the time to review and respond to the recent news. I reach for the newspaper dated the fourth of June.

Hazel, I apologize for the delayed offer of best wishes.  In the short time we had together on The Mirage, I cannot utter one negative word about you. I wish you and your family the very best. Congratulations!

Donatello had been informed a few days earlier that he would be heading to The Strip to help out Hazel with her new family. He had been so busy moving all of her stuff over from The Mirage to the newly renovated Flamingo with DoctorDoom and @Salvator-Konte that he hadn't yet had a chance to congratulate her.

He headed up to her new office once the final box was put away.

"Hazel! Just wanted to say congratulations and let you know the moving is complete! You sure do have a lot of stuff though."

Salvatore  clearly tired sat in the bar of the flamingo casino to get a drink and try to relax as the days that have passed were very tedious for him, he was helping Donatello and DoctorDoom with the relocation of Hazel as she assumed the new administration of the novelty casino called The Flamingo. The three of them tryed to make everything perfect, at least as peftect as they could make things, cause Hazel had too many stuff to move!

While he was enjojing his drink he saw Donatello get out of the elavator and sat next to him at the bar.

God we finished that, to many things man i m too tired, i see  you started drinking i need a drink too

he said and tells the barman to pour him a drink.

Yes, i thought we ll never finish, we have one last thing to do Donatello, we have to tell Hazel the moving is complete and congratulate her!! lets take a bottle of champagne and go there together Salvatore said.

oh man i did it already, i forgot calling you, hahaa!

Donatello said with a big smile on his face

i thought you are slow like a turle!!

Salvatore said as he got up grabbing a bottle of champagne and a suitcase that he had and walked quikly to the elavator heading to Hazels office! He knock the door and got inside.

Congratulations Hazel, i appologise for the delay i hope this bottle of champagne and this suitcase makes you forgive me! I wish you all the best! he said and opened the bottle of champagne
