| Expansion of New Orleans Business | Started by: Ancalagon on Oct 10, '10 23:17 |

Ancalagon takes a small sip from his flask and then tosses the half empty container to a nearby employee of his. Prohibition or not, he was going to have his drink but he wasn’t reckless enough to leave evidence of his unlawfulness on his person. Take a deep breath, the smells of the St. John bayou assaulted his nostrils and caused his eyes to slightly water.
Damn house boats...Waving aside a young man, Anclalagon whispers in his ear directions for a few of his men out on the levee. Finished with that bit of business, he waves the goomba off and walks back inside the building lining much of the bayou.
Walking into one of a few main parlours, he clears his throat and examines the small assembly of powerful New Orleans mobsters as well as a few from the other Crime Cities. Most he had called here personally, while a few others came on their own. Noting the curious for future reference, he begins speaking a previously, and thoroughly memorized, speech:
"Gentleman, as you all are aware of, since the death of Godfather Jim_Levenstein the gambling business in this fine city has suffered a set back. We’ve had to, in the last few months, conduct such activities out on the house boats that plague our waterways and cause that awful stench. Not only is it unpleasant to some of our high rollers, it is just a pain in the ass for me personally."
Moving more to the center of the room, he looks upon a map of New Orleans. He recently commissioned the work for more then aesthetic reasons...Turning back to the group, he continued,
"Since the return of organized crime in sufficient numbers and with significant financial means, we’ve begun the process towards revitalizing the gambling here in The Big Easy. After a long discussion with Don Stubing, I started my great project.”
Spreading his arms around to encompass the room and building, he grinned
“We are standing in the end result of that particular enterprise. Golden Bayou.“
“Now I asked myself how I could stir up more interest and generate a profit? Because, let’s face it, I’m a business man looking to make a buck in anything I do.“
“I came across an answer while going through some of my father’s old notes, for he too had plans. So, without further ado, I present to you a Grand Opening contest!"
"For all those that take a spin at the slots, hit the blackjack table, or chance the Roulette wheel from Oct 10th to Oct 14th, I am prepared to repay the loser 100% of his losses. Regardless of game played. You lose a million bucks, well...my accountant will send it back to you."
"Further more, as there will be winners as well, I am also prepared to double the winnings of the player with the most. Also not game dependent. You win a million bucks, prepared to get the same amount."
Turning around and letting the small murmuring behind him continue uninterrupted by his voice, he reached for a nearby bottle. Pouring himself a small amount of scotch, he faced the group once more.
"Questions anyone?" |

Just to clarify, before the questions come or droves of people fly down, I am only prepared to repay the greatest loser his or her losses back.
This scotch is rather strong... |

A wonderful promotion Ancalagon. The rebuilding of New Orleans goes from strength to strength. I may have to stop in and win a small fortune myself, after all it's a win win situation. Double my winnings if I'm the biggest winner and my money back if I'm like Alabama and I'm the biggest looser? Sure why would you not? |

Alright! After four days of eager gambling, there are two clear cut winners of my little contest.
First up, the big loser! Ragnarok has lost, in fifty two separate games of both slots and blackjack, $1,176,000! I do hope you find yourself back here in New Orleans, Don. The slots machines are beginning to miss you, I believe.
Ancalagon winks
Now for the big winner. I'm sure if I was to give everyone three guesses, most would hit on their first. TonyCorelli has won, in seventy eight games of pure blackjack, $930,000!
Both men have had their money wired to them.
Never fear, if you're late to the show. There shall be other contests in the future, so perhaps you may become a winner as well. |

A man of his word, I do appreciate the return of my money. For awhile, I enjoyed your slot machines, then they quickly become my nemisis and took me for what I was worth! |
