| The Summit with North Korea | Started by: Unhinged on Jun 10, '18 03:30 |

President Trump is a few short hours away from landing in Singapore where the summit will be held with Kim Jung Un. I am excited and optimistic. I am seeing the clips (far left talking known as the swamp swamp) from the anti Trump news media and it is a sad state of affairs they have more love for a nuclear war then peace around the world. |

| I’m cautiously optimistic about it, but I truly hope for the best. | |

President Trump is cautiously optimistic as well. I have faith in President Trump so I am totally optimistic. I got personal stakes on this one. My Father fought in the Korean War and lived. His bother did not make it out alive. |

Here's to hoping another war ends... But I'm sure we'll see how well of a diplomat the president is by the end of this |

| I don't have much faith in many things Trump does, but if there is 1 thing that should be his strong point it's his negotiation skills. | |

He and his base is accustomed to the minority not having much faith in what President Trump does. Still trying to figure out why but that is here nor there. He is a business and the booming economy proves as much. I would say it is his way or the highway. Is that a form of negations? |

Here's hoping they take each other out simultaneously in a close quarters knife fight. I can see it happening similar to the fight scene in Michael Jackson's 'Bad'. |

| What an extraudanary night in our history. Like President Trump or not, he is making history unlike any President concerning the senseless Korean War. History before our eyes. | |

Trump decided to pull out military presence/training in conjunction with South Korean forces. Kim's promise? To denuclearize North Korea. If you think he's going to get rid of his single bargaining chip, you're a fool. Trump got played. That is all. |

| And there you have it kids. People want this deal to fall apart so bad to validate their political ideologies. Absolutely fucking insane.we potentially can End a 60 year old war, make the world slightly more stable, and people want or possibly need this to fail to make themselves feel better about their world views. | |

Assuming you're talking about me. This has nothing to do with political affiliation. It has to do with logic. North Korea started producing nuclear weapons in the 50's when they had the protection of the USSR. Once that failed, they were on their own and have been producing nuclear weapons since. The past 3 presidents all tried different techniques to end it. Clinton tried negotiations, no dice. Bush tried threatening them, not a chance. Obama tried waiting it out with strategic patience, not so good. North Korea is a dictatorship. The only way to stay in power is to show it off--in this case, nuclear weapons. Kim has nothing else to leverage himself into power among other states. When Hussein hinted as possible nuclear weaponry, the US fucked his day up. After Gaddafi negotiated with the US and gave up his nuclear program, rebels killed him and sodomized him with a knife. Kim isn't stupid--he knows his only key to power is his nuclear program. So you have a psychotic power-hungry dictator with everything to lose versus a chimpanzee who thinks a country should run like a hotel. I pick the psycho every day of the week. The best option at this point is to keep a strong military presence nearby and on-the-ready to counter-attack and terminate the threat immediately. As much as I favor the idea of complete world peace, I have to be realistic. Nuclear weaponry is here to stay and chances are people are going to continue to die from it. Again, nothing to do with political affiliation. It's just simple diplomatic relations 101. P.S., I think I saw both the left and right commenting on how stupid of a deal this was. I.E., the fact that there was no accountability on the part of North Korea. |
