| MIA contracts | Started by: GrapeJam on Oct 11, '10 07:17 |

The players have already shown that just because you take on a contract it doesn't mean that the contract is going to always be yours. The players of the game give each contract 10 minutes before anyone else can shoot at that MIA.
My idea is to just actually make this a part of the game as a majority of the players already seem to think it should be a part of the game.
A way to incorperate this 10 minute rule could be done easily, realisticly, as well as make much more sense then what is going on now.
Currently there is a contract taken out on this person and you are supposed to go kill them. It is your JOB! to kill them. What happens when you can't complete the job? Well, the boss or whoever took out the contract is going to find someone who will.
What I propose is that after a certain amount of time, more then 10 minutes but less then 48 hrs, the hit is automatically shared with another person. If the RP is that your boss wants this hit done then perhaps someone in the same family will get the info on the hit. This doesn't mean that the oringinal person can't still kill this MIA it just means that there are now TWO people to take care of the job. If it goes on then you just rinse and repeat.
Sharing the hit with the family doesn't have to be the only option either. You can just as easily RP that it goes to a random person OR a person who is currently in the city that the Hit was taken out in.
SO: if this person takes out the contract in NY and the RP states that a NY boss is giving them this hit then when the time passes and if this MIA isn't dead then someone who is in NY at that time is also given the info on this MIA. What they do with this info is up to them. If they don't have any remaining contracts to kill this MIA with then they can share it with a friend.
Let me know what you think. Hopefully I didn't over look something but IMO this seems pretty up front.

This idea in my opinion (and I stand by it) is worthless. Implementing this would just further be giving away free kills. |

There is no need to hard code this at ALL, if the players in game are enforcing it. This just restricts how a godfather can run his city, some/most/all have chosen that stealing MIAs is somewhat wrong or immoral so they have restricted it by putting a timer on it, if this is put in a GF that is like Warmonger decides MIAs should be stolen if there is enough skill, can not choose to let this happen. I am surprised more players haven't come in and disagreed with this as hardcoding seems to be Taboo with most suggestions. |

This does not prevent players from still setting rules on who can and cannot kill a MIA. The GF of a city can still make any rules they want about killing. All this is doing is spreading information about MIA's that haven't been killed yet. |

Ahh, pardon me I read Warmongers response and assumed, I see it is different. Hmmm I am indifferent about this idea. |

Maybe this could be city based rather then family based. It would encourage more activity abroad, and stop the richer, rich, rich families having more total kills. I think that is what made me indifferent, that if this were family based it would be a real advantage for the powerhouse city, with all the taxes and what not. So if it were city based there'd be running a risk with wasting your credit. Just what I thought is needed :\ |
