Trust you my friend to try and elicit all my secrets. The price of race sponsorship is a mere 175k per month, less than 6k per day. Alas it has no side effects other than allowing you to name the race how you see fit. However, if you have an alternative business plan in mind, I'd be happy to entertain your offer, in private.

A "mere" 175K to put my name on something ..I would have cut it short and left out the term "mere".
The price seems highly steep for something that has no other benefits even if it does work out less than 6K per day.
Maybe, just maybe, you turn it into a business venture, the sponsor of the race gets a % of the total income on that race..

i.e..

I pay 175K to have a race called "New York Smiles" and that race gets a total 200K in bets, I than get say 5% of it?

But that idea would of course depend on how many races are ran each month, because if it's 1 a week, then the percentage cut would be higher because there would be no money to gain from sponsorship due to the lack of races in 1 month to make up for the 175K I gave you.

In answer to your question Alabama, no it's just not our esteemed leaders, although of course they have the most to benefit from it. As a Don of New Orleans and a good friend of both me and my predecessor of course I would be happy to extend it to you.

As long as interest is shown in the races I envisage them being run anything from 2 to 3 times per week up to once or twice a day. As I stated before though if you have a business proposition with regards to a partnership and profit sharing I would be more than willing to discuss this with you in private sir.

Well, if for instance Mr Grouch wanted to allude to a heretofore unknown prediliction for you to impart pleasures of an oral nature upon the genatalia of certain members of the male persuasion, that would be up to him. However it would be there in black and white for all to see that he had sponsored that race and was therefore responsible for its name. If you where to then seek vengence for said slur upon your name and image and fix Mr Grouch up with a quality place to sleep along side various marine life, then of course that would be your prerogative.

Should the sponsor of a race die, then it will revert to a more pedestrian name, for there is no sense or value to be gained from the dead sponsoring a race. Certain names of course I would refuse to use, namely those that contravene the commandments of the Gods, what with me being a devoutly religious man.

Well after careful consideration I have decided to rework the race sponsorship.

For your 175k you will get the following bonuses:

1) 20% of all profits made on that race during the month of your sponsorship. Profits are calculated as the total bets minus the total payouts. EG If 200k is bet on the race, and 100k is paid out, your cut is 20k for that race. As long as there are customers there will be races. 2-3 per week based on how busy we are.

2) You can open your own Betting shop in your own City. We will supply race line ups, odds and results. All we require is 20% of your profits from all bets placed in your city after payouts.

3) You still get to name the race anything you like.

Some people have expressed an interest in horse racing. New Orleans is the home of Horse racing, next time you are in town feel free to fill your boots.
