Sal walks out onto the street and stops to light a smoke. "You want to know why?" Sal took a drag on his cigarette, "It started with me... or rather my future in this thing of ours - as I stand on the edge of my most important achievement, I could see the proverbial sharks circling. And at the end of the day that amounted to something as simple as wood: Survival." "What happened last night was suppose to be an attack on Seattle and Seattle ONLY because THAT was where we thought the threat was coming from." He exhales a plume of smoke, shaking his head in disgust over the losses. "It should never have gotten as out of hand as it did." "Part way into the war, a respected member of Las Vegas reached out, and we told him that our target was Seattle. Either our words weren't believed or they saw an opportunity - and I can't say I can blame a man for trying to seize an opportunity when presented with one. However, the blood in their streets was ONLY due to an unprovoked attack against us. They hit us while we were warring with another city and there is no way to mistake a message like that, I have no regrets and make no apologies as I'm sure they would not if things had gone another way." "Now LA, I'll admit that was a shit storm and a truly last minute decision. We already up to our ankles in blood, so we figured why not settle the books with everyone in a single night? I liked Hope, she was a mafioso worthy of respect, but at the end of the day, my family is just like every other. We take care of our own first and foremost." Lucky takes one last hit of his cigarette before flicking the butt to the ground. "I didn't come out here expecting anyone to thank us for what we did... but I like to keep shit on top of the table. It's how I run my business. To that end, go ahead bitch and complain if it helps you sleep better at night - its no skin off my ass; but don't expect me to comment on it any further. Those are the reasons." "The good news is this, for now, maybe we can enjoy a few months of peace." With that, Salvatore walked away. |

I've been on these shores long enough to know that there's no such thing as peace only one bidding their time to aquire more power last night was no different to the 1000 other times when the greedy decide that they are in a position to rub their tummies.
Innocent people died last night alot of innocent people as is the way it seems to be these days i seem to remember a time when if you kept your nose out of people's business and didn't make moves in the shadows of night you could go far these days it seems that people will take town whole cities for no reason other than because they can.
Many more will come because that is the way things are these days but's let's call a pear a pear and an apple an apple instead of painting this heroic and justified picture. |

Anybody trying to justify a conflict will give themselves a reason for such. In this world conflict is inevitable. When that time eventually comes, such justification typically only suits the people who instigated the conflict in particular. I bode no ill will toward any of the survivors of the past conflict, but I do think it must be recognized that Las Vegas obviously held close ties with Seattle, especially after the huge plan all the crew leaders worked on to sort out the cities after the conflict about a month ago. Personally, I do not believe you and your associates, Mr. Luciano, would lack so much foresight as to not believe that the cities would fight hand in hand. It does little justice to yourselves to tarnish your public image in such a way as to insinuate that. I appreciate you coming out to the streets, Mr Luciano, and telling the children of their dead parents and the still-standing people of this great land why those people died. It is not an easy task, I'm sure many would rather keep it under wraps or ignore the past ~12 hours. All I can say is those people would like stability. Your line about lasting peace sure sounds to me a lot like what we heard after the last war, but I still must say its allure remains just the same. I wish you good luck. Even if we, as a whole, have fought in the past, we are in the same boat now. |

Thank God there is not much of an audience to hear my yawns and everytime I yawned, I farted. Nothing like a good dish of Bush's Beans with itty biddy pieces of hot dogs. Speaking of hot dogs Salvatore, word on the street is you depict one. Sleep with one eye open. I can say I wasn't around for the event that brings your boring rhetoric over another cigarette. RIP. May your kin... |

Mr Luciano, nobody can argue with your will to survive. I also look forward to witnessing the growth of the news batch of leaders this event has generated. I think what is worth pursuing reassurance on is a period of stability. My own personal motivations are such that I'd like to invest time in engaging with people new or old, and build events to support growth and interaction in the community. As well put by Mr Gazpacho, we've been in a similar situation before. I do have an idea of how we can begin to demonstrate that desire for peace. With the blessing of my employer, I'd like to meet with you in private to suggest and build some community focused activities as I previously mentioned. Nothing too extravagant, just group projects to build that solidarity and trust in a period of growth and exploration into what we could be doing instead of shooting each other. |
