The joint was quite busy when I walked in, Saturday night, why not? My normal table in the corner was taken so I sat at the far end of the bar. The bartender came over smiling "What will it be jonny?" With a smile of my own I replied, "The same as always Phil, but make it a double." The man is a wizard behind the bar. I was sipping my drink a minute later, "Perfect thanks." I gave him a twenty.  I reflected on the past week. It's been crazy, overnight war with many loses, crews gone, friends .... and then having to find new employment. Can't say I was too surprised, this is LA after all.

Few weeks back, I worked with a guy, Elyan, had a crew called Skinwalkers. So I got in touch with him and we agreed to meet. I showed up early, as always, to get a lay of the land only to find Elyan already here. "It seems we had the same idea." he said. "Yeah, I'm not a fan of walking into a place cold. I like to look it over first." I extended my hand, "Good to see you again." His grip was strong, "Same to you. Shall we?" he gestured to a table.

Thinking back the first thing I noticed about Elyan was that he had an intense awareness about him. Something akin to a predator waiting for the hunt. He started telling me about the Skinwalkers. We talked for a couple hours asking and answering each other's questions. In the end I agreed to join. He finished with, "I run a tight pack jonny. I look forward to seeing what choices you will make." I shook his hand again and went in search of a drink. "This should be interesting." I told myself.
