Elias woke up from a nice relaxing sleep, put on his black hat & coat and took the short trip to Downtown Detroit. This whole city now belonged to Godfather Salvatore Luciano, and this brought a smile to Elias' face. He'd worked for the now Godfather for many years, and even took the same name, due to the huge amount of respect he held for him..but today was not going to be an easy day..he had a request for the Godfather.. he got into his car and made the short trip across town..

During the journey Elias has a lot going through his head, this request from Elias had been made a couple of times already, and both were flatly rejected by the then Don of Detroit. Elias had fallen in love over the time he'd spent with his daughter, Isabella Luciano. She obviously had felt the same way, and he'd been given a letter to prove it. Although he would never take it out in public, and kept it locked away in his bedside table drawer for safe keeping. Isabella was now working for Godfather Luciano directly, and Elias opted to work for another Don in the city, Funshine. It was the first time Isabella & Elias had ever worked apart, and it was taking an emotional toll on both of them..being kept apart was never going to be easy, but Godfather Luciano had the power to keep them apart forever, for the rest of their days..Elias' happiness and future depended on how their meeting was going to turn out, and as Elias thought to himself 'there's no time like the present' - he pulled up outside his old headquarters, and made his way to the Godfathers office..

Godfather Luciano now had even more bodyguards surrounding the headquarters, maybe this was down to him executing the previous 'head of state' or maybe it was due to him surviving the hit at his home, where unfortunately Isabella caught the bullet instead..maybe it was an amalgamation of all of these things..but Elias was a trusted old Consigliere of the family, and he was able to take the stairs up to the Godfathers office..

Elias knocked on the office door, and waited for a reply before walking in..

Sal sat his desk dealing with all the paperwork that his new title gave him when he heard a knock on his door. He looked up from his paperwork and over at Tiny who was sitting in Sal's office. He nodded to the man and watched as Tiny got up and walked over to the door and opened it letting Elias in. 

Sal stood up from his chair and offered the man his hand. 

"How are you doing?" he said to the man. 

Elias took the hand of the Godfather and shook it warmly..he then kissed each of Godfather Salvatore's cheeks - the highest sign of respect he could pay such a man. Elias hadn't seen the Godfather since he'd killed the previous one, and was keen to congratulate him and seek a long standing permission. One that he'd been seeking for many months..

'Godfather Salvatore, I stand here in your office once more, that I may officially request the hand of your daughter. You've seen during the months how deeply in love we have fallen for each other, and whilst still finding it difficult to now spend time with each other since I've moved home.. I know that there's nothing more in this life that I want more, than Isabella. It broke my heart when she was shot at your home, and then shot for a second time in the most recent war. We've both bled for you, and I will continue to do so..and wear your family name proud.'

'I believe that I have now proved enough to you, Marie & Isabella herself, that I can become a trustworthy and loyal life partner to her, and nothing would make me happier to get your official blessing.'

Elias put his hand in his suit jacket pocket, and pulled out a sapphire and diamond encrusted engagement ring.. 'Godfather this belonged to my grandmother, and she wore it until the day she died. It was given to her by my grandfather over 100 years ago. This is the single most important possession I have in my life right now, it's all I have left from my past, and I'd be honoured with this blessing, that I may use this ring to ask Isabella to spend the rest of her life with me..'

Sal listened as the man spoke.  He expected this conversation to happen so it was not a surprise. His men had told him that the two of them were getting closer but where respecting boundaries. The last war had shown Sal what he needed to see, both of them had done what they were told without any question or concern. They had picked the Family over their personal life. 

Sal looked at the ring and then sat back in his chair. He was debating how to proceed with this. 

Sal pulled his .45 and set it on the desk before looking up at Elias. 

"You have my permission to Marry my daughter. But know you ever hurt her or do something else I deem wrong I will end you," he says deadly serious. 

"I know the two of you love each other and you both have my blessing."  

Elias shook the hand once again of Godfather Salvatore. 'I promise I will live my entire life, ensuring that she has a safe one. I won't let you down, to have your blessing means everything to me, and I'm sure when I surprise her with this ring. She will know that you are finally giving your blessing to us being together, please take this as a token for my appreciation Godfather..' Elias pulled out a box of Cuban Cigars and left it on the Godfathers desk. 'I know you are busy running this town, so with my request granted Godfather I will leave you be now..I'll see myself out..thank you once again, this is a debt that I'm never going to be able to pay back. I owe you my life.'
