Midnight in Motown Started by: TonyCosta on Jul 11, '18 07:06

At the stroke of midnight, Felix found himself stepping into a vibrant club in the heart of Detroit. The throb of the bass and the kaleidoscope of lights offered a stark contrast to the disappointment of an unsuccessful client meeting earlier. Seeking solace in a drink, he hoped the energy of the club would momentarily drown out his frustrations.

As he entered, Felix's attire and demeanour seemed at odds with the opulence that surrounded him. The plush velvet couches and shimmering chandeliers whispered of a world he wasn't accustomed to. The clinking of glasses and laughter intermingled with the music, casting him adrift in a sea of affluence.

Sitting at the bar, he ordered a negroni and watched the bartender's practised hands craft the concoction. The ice clinking against the glass mirrored the thoughts swirling in his mind – a sense of displacement amidst this glamorous scene.

As he raised the glass to his lips, Felix's gaze roamed the room, observing patrons lost in their revelry. Despite his attempt to blend in, he couldn't shake the feeling of being an outsider amidst the extravagance. The contrast between his experiences and the world he found himself in was palpable.

With each sip, Felix acknowledged the disconnect. The club's ambience, once enticing, now served as a stark reminder of the gap between his aspirations and the reality he navigated. The clock ticked on, but as the night progressed, he found himself yearning for a space where success wasn't measured solely in luxury, where authenticity mattered more than opulence.
