A cheque for $4.5 million is made in the hands of a notorious mafia boss, his headquarters being located in Old City District, Philadelphia. Another man is sitting across from him, dressed in all black, looking sharp and classy in all the right ways. The boss towered over him, staring dead straight in his eye. The boss handed him the cheque, his mouth set in a hard line. He then lights a cigar that he picked up from his desk, placing it between his fingertips, before bringing the lit cigar to his mouth and inhaling sharply. The smoke that was exhaled, travelled throughout the room, making their surroundings smell like tobacco leaves. “When you find the son of a bitch, kill him.” He grunted, as the smoke twirls around the two men, trapping them inside the disaster that they were talking themselves into. There was an eerie vibe in the air, one could describe it as walking into an abandoned warehouse and only footsteps that were approaching could be heard. The man sitting across the boss nodded his head slowly in reply, eyeing the strip of paper that was placed in his hands. He glances carefully over the figures that were written. It was real. $4.5 million to kill a crew member, who had escaped and disappeared into the shadows. Now that was an eerie situation. The boss looks at him and a flicker of anger quickly passes in his dull-stricken eyes, showing no mercy whatsoever. “Well, what are you waiting for? Get outta here!” He hissed, angrily pointing his hand in the direction of the door. The man sitting is in a moment of disbelief, before he suddenly rises from his seat. “Ahem. Sorry, sir. I best be on my way now…” The man replied in haste. He gives a quick nod to the boss then walks out of his office, carrying the cheque in his pocket. When he was finally a far distance from the door, the man goes in another direction, away from the area he had initially arrived from. The man turns a corner and he meets up with two members that are from well established families. The timidness of the man had now vanished, like he morphed into another human being. “Here’s the cheque. Only by completing this job you will get it. You have 24 hours before this shit turns dark.” His eyes were hooded, and hidden from the fedora hat he was wearing. He moves both of his hands to a button on each side of his blazer and attaches them to each other, not making any eye contact with the two people standing in front of him. Vela wanted to thank the man for bringing the job to them, but as she opened her mouth, the man quickly spun around on his heels and walked away in a rush, turning back into the corner he came from. “Uhh…” Vela turned her neck to face Kodak and she shrugged, both her hands lifting in the air. “What you wanna do first?” Vela asked, trying to stay relaxed. She couldn’t deny that she was in a state of panic, considering the fact that this was a highly dangerous assignment to accept. When they walked inside the tall building earlier, the sky was a pastel blue, but now as Vela looked through the tall, glass pane she noticed that the sky already turned a dark, blue colour. Time was running out fast, and they needed answers. |

Kodak could sense the feeling of heightened anxiety coming from Vela. He couldn’t quite understand why she felt that way, knowing that the person we were after has gone rogue, or maybe she hadn’t known that yet? Kodak smirked at the man as he told us what our assignment was. He felt very determined to take down this piece of shit who went rogue on us, before he would cause any more destruction in Philadelphia, potentially posing a risk to the other cities. Kodak responded to Vela. “What do you mean what’s first? We have to find this guy, I have no idea where to start, but assuming he’s not stupid enough to stick around here, he could be anywhere.” The hallway they were standing in was horribly humid, the stuffy temperature almost causing a wave of irritation to rush over him. A drop of sweat ran off of Kodak’s forehead, not of nervousness, but because he was really warm. He felt eager determination to seek revenge, not only because of what this traitor, rogue… or whatever kind of person did, but because he poses a risk to innocent lives and his own sanity. Vela seemed to be having second thoughts, but Kodak could care less, he was in this with or without her. After all, this is his home city, and he doesn’t let this shit slide. Itching to get out of this boiling hallway, he turns to Vela. “Let’s go grab a bite to eat and talk about our options here.” |

There was word around town that people may have already been harmed by this... escapee... rogue... traitor... whatever Vela's people wanted to call him. When Vela reached a nice, secluded cafe, she began to worry about her family, if this person may have grudges against them, or if he's just trying to be reckless and kill anyone who stands in his way. Without a doubt, he would probably be in the next few cities over, well Vela would like to think so. The cities nearby Philadelphia probably already have families that are being alerted and going through the process of setting up maximum security for their headquarters. "Well, first things first, lets go visit his boss, shall we? He is the first person that found out about it, so any information we could get about his upbringing, we can start to get an idea of what this person is intending to do. Everything happens for a reason, don't it?" She advised, lifting her cup of coffee to her lips, sipping briskly before releasing a satisfied sigh. Vela stared back at Kodak, trying to read his facial expressions but she was too deep in her thoughts to ask what he was thinking. She was happy that she had Kodak by her side to complete this daunting assignment because if she got news that she had to do it alone, Vela would try and convince the person to leave her out of it. She felt much too inexperienced with weapons, her pistol being no use to her as she knew her inner wolf would keep her safe. Vela didn't forget about her former crew, Skinwalkers, where she learnt how to properly tame her wolf and let her out when the time was right. ...But only when the time was right. Vela knew the risks of showing Kodak her wolf ancestry, as she knew that packs were sometimes seen as big targets since their power was something that couldn't be acquired by a human. "I know that you know I don't know how to use a gun. So I'll leave you to that. But let my use words first before we start firing shots." She coaxed, bringing the coffee to her lips again and sipping nonchalantly. Vela grabbed her coat that was hanging on her chair, put it around her shoulders and rose from her seat. She pursed her lips and took a deep breath. "Alright. We gotta get the address of the escapee's headquarters." Ultimately, that meant going back to the building they left from and finding a very specific object. A manilla folder that contained the details of the escapee's family headquarters, a diagram of their structure and their different exit ways. Vela actively headed for the entrance, ready to get what they needed... quickly. |
