| Tips Page NPCs Renamed for Community Members We've Lost | Started by: Isabella-Luciano on Jul 13, '18 20:02 |
|
SUGGESTION: Change one of the names on the tips page to honor members of the MR Community who we've lost over the years. Example: And perhaps the name could link to an archived version of the player's profile?
WHY: In the wake of Mr_Crowley (aka Cesare, Vectivus, Frank_Fontaine, Al_Fink, Tonberry, Thrall and most recently Anthony_Zerilli) passing, it occurred to many of us that it would be nice to see a more permanent way to honor the late members of the MR community (both recently passed friends/family and those we've lost over time.) As these characters are immortal and can't be killed, it seemed a really nice way to do that. Also, I hoped that it might be an easy change to make? Maybe?
HOW IT BENEFITS THE COMMUNITY: We can remember those friends/family we've lost whenever we go to buy tips etc, and ideally it's a way for future players to see how much we value the real world people who come here to have a little fun.
POSSIBLE ISSUE: It's possible we've lost more people than we have names (I think the site has been around a VERY long time) ... I don't really know the number of people who have passed away. BUT if we ever get to a point where we run out of static npcs to rename perhaps other ways to honor the late members could be considered. |

| I concur, maybe also give their names a different color as well. | |

This would be an amazing addition to the community, not just the game. |

I believe something similar to this already exists in the Jail page - "In loving memory of ____" - regardless, still wouldn't mind seeing it get expanded to redoing the NPC names for Tips. |

Zoom, jails are rarely visited these days so no one sees those memorials. As the years go by the sad fact is we're running out of jails to memorialize those that were a part of our community that have passed. Renaming NPCs is a pleasant way to remember them by that we will have more chances of seeing their names from time to time. There's no harm in this as far as I can see. |

I like this idea a lot. I agree with Constance, the jails are hardly seen these days and if I remember, from when Seattle was opened, there are more users to honor then we have cities. This would be a great way to expand on our ability to honor members we've lost. |

I think this is a good suggestion. As Constance says, the sad reality is that the number of "known lost users" will most likely exceed 7 at some point. Even if we just keep this in mind for the future, it's a good idea. Although for the sake of conspicuousness/taste I would obviously recommend using the FBN officers first. |

I'm not old in this game to know how many dear players passed away, but i do belive this is a great idea. In my honest opnion, it would be awesome to make these pople immortal and forever remembered by this comunity. |

I always feel bad that people who take their own lives feel so alone. Honor who we remember, So they are never forgotten |

I think se’d Be far over 7 already as I can almost name that many myself just since 2010. However this would be an awesome way of remembering our dearly departed, even if the name randomised between a list of those we have lost. |

+1 from me, I would like this to be given another look as I think it would be a great tribute to some of the players we've lost over the years. |
