An Evening at Lynnewood Hall Started by: GavinAndTaraByrne on Jul 24, '18 19:02

"Ah, with one of you with each arm? I couldn't resist."

The three of them strolled outside; Tara made sure to fix her hair in a way that set her earrings aflutter- and caught Davis looking. He was smooth enough to avoid the subject for awhile, but Tara could see him thinking, calculating, as he made small talk. Eventually, he gestured toward Tara's earring.

"You know... that's a very fine accessory you have there. Could you tell me any more about it?"

Was he looking to see if she understood it's "value"? Tara liked to think that she had some good taste in jewelry, but that hardly extended to knowledge.

"Actually, I borrowed it from my friend here."

With a grin, she tagged Kittie back in.

"They're Cartier darling, early 1920's." Kittie smiled, and gestured with one hand to the gorgeous dangling earrings.

"Ruby and diamond, set in platinum."

She looked up at Davis with a kittenish look on her face and licked her lips.

"You have good taste in accessories, do you have good taste in other things?"

Davis tilted his head for a moment, seemingly enjoying Kittie's effrontery.

"I have the most exquisite taste, Miss Kittie. In all things. I don't suppose that those pieces of yours would be available? As well as... how did you say... other things?"

Kittie smiled and lovingly caressed her necklace.

"Oh, they're available."  She tilted her head at Tara.

"As for said other things, I suppose it depends on how the evening goes, don't you darling?"

Report Post Tip

If Davis were a fish, the hook would be firmly planted in his stomach. Or perhaps slightly lower. At Kittie's "depends on how the evening goes" Tara choked slightly on her drink. She couldn't help it; it surprised her. She pretended to be slightly shocked, despite the grin. Davis just looked interested. It was amazing how a person's desires could impact their willingness to spend money. When Davis spoke again, his voice was lower.

"Perhaps we could arrange a private sale, then? There must be an empty room in this place where we could have a closer look at things, no?"

Report Post Tip

"I think we can find a place to do," Kittie paused. "Business."

She picked up her drink and winked at Tara, then sashayed out of the room, Davis following close behind.
