La Torre D'avorio Started by: Calimero_DiGrazia on Jul 19, '18 03:34

It was a hectic few days and a bit emotional as well with some of the changes that took place with his move from Chicago to Detroit. He had finally reunited with his childhood friend Marie Lucania and just as quickly as that happened he was moving to another city to work with her daughter Isabella Luciano. Although he would miss his home in Chicago and Marie, it was time for something new and he was excited for the challenges ahead of him.

The name of the organization he was joining was The Ivory Tower and he had heard of this name in the past while still in the old country. Now he would join this organization and add to that history. One of the first things he wanted to do was make sure that his presence was felt in the area for the business owners as well as any trouble makers which included some of the goombas working for Durden.

"Take me to the business district. I have some people I need to pay a visit to." He quickly handed the cab driver a couple hundred dollars.

As the car pulled up to the sidewalk after a short drive from the airport, he thanked the driver and exited the vehicle quickly. It was time that he would show them who was now in town working for the Ivory Tower. He had heard of a bar that wasn't paying it's protection money due to some new Durden thugs hanging out there. He wanted to make sure to check it out before he brought in a couple of his own men to help out.

The door creaked open as he pushed on it and it was a bit dark inside compared to outside. Causing him to need time for his eyes to adjust to the new lighting. When things began to come into focus he spotted the bartender cleaning some glasses and at the end of the bar was a group of three thugs who definitely worked for the Durden crew based out of Delaware City. Calimero made his way over to the bar and smiled at the owner...

"So, this is a fine establishment you have here. I've heard this place is under the protection of Don Isabella Luciano. Is that true?" The bartender's face lost it's color as he heard the question. His eyes darted over to the group of men at the end of the bar. They hadn't noticed.

"I think you might just want to order a drink and be on your way friend. No need for a man of the cloth to get into any trouble." The man's comments made him smile.

He looked at the alcohol behind the bar, "Alright, then I shall have a glass of rum. If you don't mind, can I use your telephone?"

As he went to get the rum, he motioned over to the bathroom area where one single phone stood against the wall. Slowly and confidently he made his way over to place a call.

"Yeah, this is definitely the place. Don't worry, I can handle it. Just come over and wait outside to make sure nobody else comes inside." His men were waiting at a payphone a block away so they would be there quickly.

As he was making his way back over he noticed the men were now paying him more attention than before. The bartender's face seemed to change from fear to guilt. He must have told them what he asked before....

"Oi! You have something you'd like to ask us?" One of the men began to taunt Calimero, "C'mon! I'd love to hear that question of yours."

Calimero turned and smiled at the men. He rose from where he stood and began to make his way over to them. They quickly rose from their seats and began to head towards him as well. One of the men drew a knife, another drew some brass knuckles, and one was clutching his beer bottle a bit tight.

"Now men, you would not hit a man of the cloth would you? Especially not if he were Calimero DiGrazia, the new right hand man of Don Isabella Luciano. Right?" He smiled at the men in front of him as they became a bit confused and unsettled.

That was his best opening, during their own confusion....

With one quick motion he moved forward grabbing one man and slamming his head off the bar using his right hand. His left hand was acting independently as he drew his knife and brought it up to meet the man holding his own knife. The blade found it's home in his gut causing him to shout in pain. As the first two men slumped to the floor, the final man was attempting to break his bottle on the edge of the bar. Calimero laughed at the man's poor attempt.

"Oh god does not smile upon you today. I think that today he is on my side." With that Calimero took the bottle from the frightened man and bashed him in the face with it breaking his nose and sending him to the ground.

The man with the broken nose quickly got up and ran out of the bar. The man with the knife in his gut laid there rolling around in pain unable to do anything. The final man tried to get up and take a swing at Calimero using the brass knuckles. He easily dodged the stunned man's swing and made a quick right hook into his jaw knocking him out cold.

At this point the bartender was standing with his back up against the wall in fear not knowing what would happen to himself. Before he could make his way to the bartender, the man with the knife in his gut began to speak...

"Fuck you! You think you can just come here and we won't retaliate? Tyler will take over this city and bury you and everyone else six feet under!" This irked Calimero a bit as pride in this situation was just idiotic.

So before turning his attention on the bartender he decided he would make his way back to this man with his bold words. As he knelt down to look the man in the eyes he grabbed the handle of the knife and turned it to the left. The man screamed out in pain.

"You believe this hurts? You do not know true pain. This is just a minor wound in comparison to what I have experienced. If you ever wish to truly experience what I have then you'll continue to talk and let that pride of yours drive you down that dark path." The man was left speechless and a lot of the color in his face had retreated.

Now.....time for the bartender and owner of this establishment.

"So what shall we do with you? You cannot just stop paying your protection money to the Ivory Tower. That is unacceptable. Now I am a man of God, no matter how you might view me after the events that just unfolded. So perhaps if you felt it in your heart to double your protection money for the next....let's say...4 months and then back to normal afterwards we can forget this all happened. Otherwise I will be back and you will not be happy to hear the message God has for you." The bartender just nodded in complete and utter silence.

He quickly made his way to the register and took out most of the cash to hand to Calimero. After counting it quickly, it was time to be on his way from the bar and on to the Ivory Tower headquarters. As he made his way out the man with the knife in him decided to say one more thing...

"Who the hell are you?" The question was one that he felt happy to answer.

"I am Calimero Ira DiGrazia. I will be here in Detroit now making sure that scum like you do not take any business away from the Ivory Tower. So please remember today's lesson. God may always try to teach his creations. I do not like to repeat a lesson already given." With that he made his way out of the bar and into the backseat of the car that was waiting for him.
