It was a nice cool July evening in Los Angeles on a secluded private beach where a large gathering was starting to take place. A monumental event had just taken place in the for of Vincent Mancini becoming the God Father Chairman of Los Angeles. Everyone and anyone who was connected in any way to God Father Mancini was in attendance for the celebrations. There was a small stage set up with various bonfires located in front of it, a live band playing various genres of music. Everyone was on the sand or in the water. Some swam playfully while others waded in the shallows and enjoyed one another's company. There were others on the beach enjoying drinks from a bar set up just to the left of the stage. It was hard at times to distinguish who was awaiting drinks and who was dancing in front of the stage. A bit further down the beach on either side some were enjoying games of corn hole, volleyball and soccer, there were even some on towels that appeared to be playing poker right on the beach while enjoying a cold beer. The general atmosphere of the night was one of jubilation as everyone was there for one reason and one reason only, to celebrate. Yes it was true that the main focus was the promotion of their leader, but it was also in a way a massive celebration of how well we've all come together as a community and to celebrate the direction that we were heading in as a group. There wasn't a long face to be seen in the crowd. Things were just getting started when the band stopped and Orion approached the center stage. Everyone stopped and turned to look and with a cheek to cheek grin on his face Orion waved to the crowd before speaking. "Good evening everyone! I won't take too much of your time as I do understand we're all here to have a fun night and celebrate the milestone of an accomplishment made by our God Father Vincent Mancini, but I need to go over some rather serious rules..." A silence fell over the crowd for a brief moment, but was quickly broken once more by Orion's voice over the microphone. "Who am I kidding, there's no rules! If there were I doubt any of you would listen anyhow on a night like this." He laughed before continuing. "In all seriousness though I was asked to come up here to introduce our belle of the ball, God Father Vincent Mancini! Let's give it up for the man of the hour!" Orion stepped back to make way for the new God Father Chairman to make his speech, but as he did there was a loud and violent pop. Silence fell as everyone looked in the direction of what sounded like a gunshot. Then suddenly two more loud shots were heard. It sounded louder than a handgun, perhaps a large caliber rifle. People began to react, some scattered, some went back to their vehicles and some hit the sand and laid prone. Chaos fell over the crowd in a matter of moments. At first Orion stood looking in the direction hoping to spot a muzzle flash when a loud thud hit the stage and chunks of the wood shattered just before Orion's feet. It was clear that whoever was shooting was aiming for the stage, and more certainly, attempting to kill the God Father Chairman and his upper structure. Orion drew his 1911 from his shoulder holster and began firing into the tree line overlooking the beach as that appeared to be the only place possible of giving the shooter concealment and the vantage point to land the shots that he was attempting to make. Orion unloaded his magazine and by that time he had reached the stairs that lead down from the stage. The God Father was instantly enveloped by his protection and was sure to be headed in a safe direction. Another shot hit the hand rail to the stairs and Orion caught the slightest reflection from the tree line he had suspected. He then jumped down from the stage, reloaded his magazine and fired another salvo into the tree line where he'd see the reflection. His heart was pounding in his chest at this point as he stopped to quickly load his third and only magazine left on his person. He looked around and those that fled in a panic had cleared leaving behind a few dozen left doing what appeared to be the same thing. Assessing the situation and planning a counter attack. Orion looked around before yelling out as loudly as he could. "He's in the tree line! Seek cover and concealment and bring this son of a bitch back aliv..." Before being able to finish his thought he was violently taken to the ground. Time seemed to slow to a stand still as he tried to move his arms to crouch and retreat. He saw his right hand before him, but his left didn't seem to budge. Running his right hand over his shoulder he lifted it up once more to reveal blood, bright red blood, the type you only see in a violent fire fight such as this one. Knowing that the shooter had eyes on him and that he was already hit Orion laid still where he had fallen. It was best if the shooter thought he had gotten the kill. Orion laid the side of his face in the sand and watched as his brave fellow mafioso reacted to the situation. They had been caught off guard, but they were quickly gaining the upper hand. His thoughts seemed to trail off as he watched the black waves crash into the sand and the night's sky above. The rhythm of the waves seemed to help, but the more he watched the quickly everything began to go dark. Orion blacked out on the beach right where he lay with the hope that his city, his family, would get through this. |

Orion sleeps while the drums are played with the little night that is left. Beside him sits JimboJunya and playing a soft deep beat. Boom Boom bumba boom over and over and chanting his ritual to revive Orion. The drums wen't on but sunset was coming close! And PapaNight always said to JimboJunya "when you do your magic wether it is black or white it is always best to chant at night" Jimbo alway's took PapaNigts's words critical. And today he was gonna prove it. PapaNight said always find a good soul that need's your hand! And JimboJunya started with the Chant. Word's from the past words from the ancient. JimboJunya chanted what was needed! He drummed and Chanted and than heard a loud scream come from the sea!! A scream that blocked his ear's and he could no longer hear his Drum! JimboJunya new that this was a visit from the other side The DarkSide coming for Orion coming for his Soul! He drummed even though he couldn't hear his beats he drummed to the Beat of his Heart! Chanted and drummed to the the only thing he could feel wich was his Heart! The Scream got louder and he saw from the shore a figure of women with a Tail and as she approached the tail dissapeared. And there she was a beauty from the Deep! "JimboJunya in a calm loud voice She say's your duty here is done". You shall be rewarded in the End! For Orion has many things to do yet! Be gone JimboJunya Respects from far beyond may your Karma be at your side for eternity! Orion awakes there is no sign of JimboJumya nor the Women from the sea but he does remember them being there! How can this be! He say's to himself. As he stares into the sea and remember's the drum he finds beside him a pouch! Inside a 1911 Pistol and a note couldn't read much on the note! The ink was smudged but visible only he could see was "no rules" the rest some number #206 maybe a Hotel number and The Last Resort all smudged obviously the Hotel. He shook his head realized he was wounded but it looked like the bullet passed right threw the shoulder. Orion grab's his tie and puts his arm in a sling! Than it all comes to him the Party, Vincent the Ambush and lying on the beach half dead ! He remembered sounds of drum's and chanting and a female voice. Was it all true or was it cuz he lost alot of blood! Orion grabs the the 1911 the note he crumples throw's it to the sea, knowing what it said! He darts straight to the Hotel The Last Resort number #206. What awaits him not even he know's! ... |

Orion has been at a full sprint for several minutes... His thoughts become blurry. He is beginning to realize that he has no other option but to come to a rest. His knees give and he goes down. At this point he has forgotten what the note had written out on it. Orion could not remember what hotel or room number. What would he do now? Linnie was out for his evening stroll into the city when he realizes Orion lying on the sidewalk in a ball. Linnie ran up to Orion dropped to his knees and huddled over him. "Orion, what has happened!?" Orion responded. "Where am I?" "You are in front of Main Street Pub and The Last Resort" Linnie replied. "The Last Resort?" says Orion. "Yes. the Last Resort" says Linnie. Orion replies, "For some reason I feel as if I am supposed to report to the Last Resort." Unsure why Orion is behaving in such a manor, Linnie picks him up and throws him over his shoulder. Bang! Bang! Several shots ring off towards the west and Linnie runs towards a abandoned shop. He runs around the building and attempts to kick in the back door. Finally after a few good kicks the door pops and breaks free. They enter the shop and Linnie lies Orion on the ground of a old storage room. Linnie has not been able to get enough information from Orion to understand what is going on. He runs around the shop looting for anything that he can use to create a tourniquet around Orions arm. He finds an old shop rag and a metal gallon of acetone. Linnie pours the acetone over the old shop rag and began to wrap it tightly around Orions arm. Orion begins to nod off. "ORION!" yells Linnie. No Response. Linnie continues to yell for several minutes in attempt to awake Orion. After no response he knew that he had to do something. What has going on he asked him self? Where was Orion at prior to me finding him? Linnie covered Orion up and was headed towards the door to find help when he heard Orion cry out, "#206." He ran back to Orion and asked, "#206? Orion?" Orion responded in a very faint voice, "yes." Thats it, Linnie expressed with joy. Room 206 at the Last Resort. He looked down at Orion and said, "I will be back, stay quiet!" Linnie stood up ran to the door. After slowly opening and attempting to peak out to make sure there was no one around that could harm himself or Orion he took off! He made his way back around the the front of the building. He could still hear shots ringing out in the distance but he knew he had to make it to the Last Resort Hotel. After about a half a mile of crouching, crawling and laying prone he arrived at the back end of the hotel. He noticed several men dressed in Suits and ties lounging on the back deck of a second story hotel room and it looked as if each of them were carrying several long rifles. Linnie crouched behind several cars until he saw the men turn their backs. He picked up a rock and through it in the opposite direction of himself to deflect their attention from him. As they turned and looked with guns drawn, Linnie made a run for it to the front of the Hotel where he would enter to speak with Hotel Staff. Before approaching the front door he stopped running and came to a normal paced walk into the front of the hotel. "Ma'am may I ask who is in room 206?" ask Linnie. She replied "Unfortunately I am unable to give you this information." "Okay thank you Ma'am." stated Linnie Linnie turns around and puts his head down. "Linnie!!!" comes from a familiar voice! Its Orion. He runs into the hotel... |

Orion's not alone
Linnie asks for a wheelchair from the hotel staff who look suspiciously at Orion with his clothes drenched in sweat, they couldn't see the blood from the bullet wound though as Linnie had done a good job dressing and concealing it with cloth torn from decorations the street. It would just let them get by, nothing more. Linnie pushed Orion into the main lobby all the while losing his grip on the situation little by little. He left Orion in a comfortable corner and snuck up the elevator to the 2nd floor. The wait seemed endless and the silence deafening as the elevator climbed up slowly. The ring, before the door opened, almost startled Linnie. The door opened slowly. Linnie almost let a sigh of relief as he walked out slowly. There in the corridor stood Khurram with with his grey overcoat and with his hands in his pocket. Linnie knew Khurram was ready to shoot. The initial warm feeling of seeing a familiar face gave way to flurry of questions in Linnie's mind. He fired them all at once at Khurram. "What's goin on?", "Why're you here?", "When did you get away from the party?", "Were you really there?", "What you doin dressed like that in this heat?". Khurram looked at him with calm eyes and began to speak, "I was already here before the party started". "And, I'm always dressed like this for a gunfight". "I was in Brighton Beach a week back when one of my Russian peddler told me about a shitstorm that's gonna hit L.A.". "These Russians, they don't fool around and so I had to believe him". "I came back 3 days ago and I saw everyone in the jolly mood that no one wants to ruin but I knew I had to keep my eyes open and so I started my work". "I started contacting my local runners and they reported a lot unfamiliar activity in the past month". "They had no idea what was goin on but The Last Resort kept on comin up in their reports". "i had all the reasons I needed to be here cuz I knew the party was already gonna be fucked up, there was nothing anyone could do about it". "I chose to come the one place that could lead me to the perpetrators". "This is all I know and you n me meeting here right in this corridor i pure coincidence as I could have been anywhere else but something kept telling me to be on the 2nd floor and then I decided to keep an eye on the elevator and see what it brings up". Linnie's face drooped at this but he felt a strength inside him, a strength that you get when you feel that you are being led by the universe and you are surrounded by friends. |

Khurram turns around abruptly and waves his hand to signal Linnie to follow. The two made there way down the hall towards Khurrams room. In the corner of Linnies eye he notices the number 206 mounted to one of the doors. It came to his mind that Orion had mentioned that room number. He looks around to try and pick out a distinctive object that will make it easier to return to that area later on.
They round the corner and khurram begins to insert a key card into the door of the room he had been stationed in. The door opens and a smell of dark roast coffee and stale cigars smacks him in the face. "Damn Khurram open a window!" with a small chuckle that followed. "Would it be okay to call down to the lobby and ask them to bring Orion up?" Linnie ask. "We should probably keep the line silent just in case they are tapped into it."
Silence fell upon them. They were unsure what to do next. Being that no ones knows what is going on; it was now in their hands to make the first move and start digging deeper to find out. Khurram, "Your Russian peddlers, how can we get ahold of them?" "We need to know where they got their initial report of chaos in LA." "I will have to contact his boss before speaking to him Linnie, how long we got?" Uncertain of a specific time frame Linnie replies, "Every mission should be done with speed and accuracy. Get your head out of your ass Khurram!"
Bam! Linnie jumps looking towards the door. "Did you hear that?" From outside the door they could hear a lot of commotion. As they opened the door to find out what was going on in the hall Linnie was shot in the leg. He slid slowly down the door frame until he was seated unto the floor. Red strobe lights that were placed evenly through out the hall begin to flash and a loud buzzing alarm fills the hotel. Khurram pulls Linnie out of the door way and back into the room.
Khurram slams the door shut, locks it and get himself and Linnie as far away from the door as possible... |

Covered in sweat, completely naked as he reaches in for his wallet to take out a few hundred which he starts counting, one by one as he goes: "Whew, you're one of those that's worth the price, eh?" Followed up by a tired snickering, Tince hands over the money to the hooker as he starts to get himself dressed, but he does take his time and does so in a very lazy manner. Few moments go by and he looks like he just got up from his bed, striped long pants that are held by a belt, stylish and expensive black shoes that are properelly waxed with shoe laces that are perhaps slightly too loose. Followed up by his white shirt that has a few buttons unbuttoned, suspenders left hanging loose. He brushes through his hair when suddenly he hears a few gunshoots comming down from downstairs.
"Shit buckets piss fart, heard that?!" Tince exclaimed as he rushed to the wooden chair on which he left his beloved tax collecting tool, a metal rod with a thick chain attached to it. At this point the hooker is at the corner of the room crouched and trembling in fear. Nonetheless Tince reaches in for his poorly made satchel from which he takes out a pack of cigarettes, takes one out and places it inbetween his lips to let it rest there. He steps out of the room and starts walking downstairs while taking out his lighter and lighting his cigarette which he enjoys perhaps too much. The alarm starts picking up as soon as he reaches the stairs but still he walks down to the second floor, from which came the gunfire.
Upon reaching the second floor he notices a few guys packed at the corridor near the room of #206, and this is where he realizes that it wouldn't be the smartest of him to assault armed men with his Chainie (yes, that's how he refers to his weapon). So he just stands there, frozen at the entrance door, not really sure of what to make do when suddenly one of the 'thugs' looks over his shoulder to spot Tince. "What you looking at kid?!" shouted one of the 'thugs' but thanks for the alarm going on, Tince can't hear a word so he just stands there idly, when he notices that the same 'thug' raises his arm. "He's about to shoot!" Tince quickly realizes and swiftly moves to take cover into the stair hall, followed up by another bang. A few of them start comming to chase Tince but thanks to the chaos around, it's really hard to hear that.
As soon as a few turn the corner to face Tince, he violently swings his Chainie in a downward manner, completely breaking the skull of the poor bastard, the second thug tho, quickly pins Tince towards the wall with his heavy body, elbow maintaining to pressure T's neck while his other hand is on the pistol, pointed straight at the waist of Tince, a simple bang and he was shot and dropt to roll down the stairs, but thankfully, or not, he stopt rolling after the first few steps. Lucky for himself, the shot wasn't fatal but even tho Tince isn't the smartest of the kids, he atleast know how to pretend to be dead. The few thugs that are now checking on the condition of the one that got his skull broken. |

Khurram drags Linnie into a corner and ties his leg up with his neck tie to stop the blood. The wound is bad. "I've got two guys shot and not a single clue", a thought passes through Khurram's mind. "You've gotta get Orion out of harms' way Khurram" cries Linnie. Khurram freezes for a second and then makes his way towards the window. He jumps into the balcony and hangs onto the railing. Landing into the backyard softly, jumping across window shelters, he quickly makes his way towards the lobby in the front of the hotel. His hand firmly on his .44 Magnum. He loved his mini cannon. --- Thugs on the second floor start moving towards Tince with fury in their eyes, they had lost one of their's to a blunt force trauma. Tince had killed the man. As the thugs approached nearer, Tince found himself totally vulnerable and dead frozen with fear, he only had a few seconds. The big door on the other side of the corridor opened up behind the thugs and a dozen armed guards from the hotel's security service barge in. "Hands on your head", "We Will Shoot". The thugs froze in their steps confused between the emotions of fear and anger. Tince jumped up and ran back up the stairs. He went into his room, where he was moments ago and shut the door. The poor street girl was still huddled in the corner sweating profusely. --- Orion was coming back to his senses as the pain subsided into the warmth of the cozy lobby and the wheelchair. He turned his head to look around where he was. He was sitting in the corner of a big hall with a glass facade. There was no one else in the hall. He could hear some loud noises coming from somewhere up though. He had no idea how he reached this place. He only remembered Linnie coming out of nowhere and dragging him around. He was glad Linnie found him. |
