Madeline had been working in New York City for some time and she'd been contemplating opening a business of her own here. She had recently opened a small Meatball Sub Shop out in Philadelphia, part of Tara Bryne's organization of the business district out there, and she loved the feeling of having her own place, a legitimate front for her to shuffle not so legitimate funds through. Still, she wasn't in Philly often enough to really be involved and the New York Business District needed some organization and cleaning up of its own, so it was time to focus on her home front. 

She'd been through several business ideas but they all seemed so cliché and overdone. Bars, restaurants, pizza shops. This was New York City, those businesses were everywhere. Besides, she wanted something that would also be useful in her current job, for more than just financial reasons.  

Her primary home was in Brooklyn, but the leggy blonde spent a lot of time walking the streets of Manhattan. She searched both boroughs trying to figure out just what the perfect idea would be for her second business but it wasn’t until one day, while standing on the edge of Brooklyn Pier Park overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, that the idea came to her.

She finally had the perfect business idea but to really get it up and running Madeline knew she would need help. The primary base of tourists she would be drawing from were in Manhattan and she’d been working in this business long enough to know that she couldn’t push into Don Rafa’s turf without first getting that family involved. If they worked together, they could launch a rather profitable business venture.

That was what brought Madeline to Manhattan today. It was a sunny summer afternoon and she was comfortably dressed in a forest green dress and a large brimmed straw hat with a matching green and white polka dotted bow. She’d made an appointment to speak with Boss Kamille, the left-hand woman of the MR Cartel, so they could discuss Madeline’s proposition.

She’d arranged to meet the woman at one of her favorite restaurants. She arrived a little early to ensure that a private space had been set up for the women, which the restaurant was happy to oblige. Settling into her seat, she ordered some white wine and waited for Kamille to arrive.   

Kamille has received word that she had someone in the other crew stationed in New York had wanted to meet at a restaurant. Coming home from a long day of having business meetings with other people to come set up shop in New York, Kamille needed to take a break and relax and going to a restaurant was a good choice for her. 

Kamille cleaned herself off and put on her favorite red dress with black pumps and a black bow wrapped around her waist and put her hair in a bun and has her handsome driver take her to the location. In the car Kamille was hoping that this meeting will go well and she can actually enjoy her time. 

As kamille arrives to the location she saw @Madeline sitting, looking stunning. Kamille smiled as she approached the table and pulled her seat out to sit. 

Good afternoon, It's nice to meet you in person. 

Kamille says smiling with her hand out to shake @Madeline's. 

Madeline sipped white wine from a glass while waiting for her guest. When Kamille arrived, Madeline stood, reaching out and taking the hand the other woman offered, shaking it warmly. 

"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm so glad you could make it."

Madeline sat back down and smiled, glancing around the little restaurant she had chosen. "This is absolutely one of my favorite places to have lunch. They have delicious food, seriously I've never had a bad dish here. Would you like some wine?" 

She didn't see a point in rushing into business talk. After all, they'd be working together in New York for the foreseeable future, so may as well get to know each other a bit. Once Kamille was settled with her drink, Madeline continued. "How are things in Manhattan? Don Rafa is well I hope?"

Settling down Kamille was comfortable in her chair and amazed, she has never seen or have heard of this restaurant before. Hearing that this is madeline's favorite place to eat. Kamille noted down the address of this location as she would assume she would have lunch more often with @Madeline as she talked highly about it. 

"Yes, I would love some wine"

Kamille grabs her glass and before taking a sip she chuckled as she reminisce about her struggling past, and she have never thought she see the day she'll be in her hometown becoming a business owner. 

Sipping her white wine from her glass and hearing the question asked about Manhattan and @Rafa,  caught Kamille off guard.

"Oh..um.. Everything is fine in my eyes, but word on the streets is New York isnt the ideal city people are looking for"

Kamille said shamelessly while putting her glass back on the table sighing. 

"I hope this meeting will be the starting point to revitalize our Hometown name"

The women didn’t need to order food because the chef was already preparing his specialty dishes for them. There would be an array of food brought out as they talked, each dish more delicious than the one before it.

“Well, whoever thinks something like that is just silly. New York is a fabulous place to work, as I’m sure we can both attest too.” She sipped at her wine, shaking her head at the thought of someone badmouthing their home.

“However, I think we can both agree that the Business District here needs some work. To begin with, it’s not very busy. And there are barely any businesses opened by native New Yorkers. While I’m pleased to see other cities investing in New York, we need to be making a strong showing for ourselves as well. Which is one of the reasons I wanted to meet with you today.”

Madeline was distracted by the waiter bringing out a delicious smelling bowl of pasta that had a variety of seafood mixed into it. She scooped some onto her plate before looking back at Kamille.

“I had an idea for a business of my own, but I needed Don Rafa’s blessing to open a portion of it here in Manhattan. I wanted to do something unique and at the same time, something that we could use for….other purposes.” Madeline smiled slightly, sure that Kamille would understand her implications.

“I was walking along the water one day when I had a thought – boat tours. We could invest in a few mid-size yachts and take tourists for tours along the Hudson River. They can see the bridges, the Statue of Liberty, those sorts of things. Since most of the tourists are here in Manhattan, I would need space at the ports to have a docking area. And we can have a second one in Brooklyn, so people can choose to debark there and do some shopping before returning to Manhattan. We can even make sure to launch additional businesses right around these ports so that we can encourage visitors to them.”

Madeline grew excited as she spoke, her face growing more animated. “We could charge a small fee to those opening businesses on our ports and then we could advertise them on the boat tour. Like, telling people the best music in lower Manhattan as at the jazz house, or something along those lines.”

“Of course, we could share the profits and as we grow, we can expand the number of ports we have. Battery Park, lower east side, lower west side, midtown. In Brooklyn, we could start at the Brooklyn Bridge Park and even go out towards Cooney Island. We can turn each of these ports into a hub of businesses, with the customers being funneled to them by our very own boats. Thoughts?”

Madeline grinned widely, knowing she’d given a lot of information very quickly. She was excited about the idea and hoped that Kamille would be as well.

Kamille was pleased other what the sweet @Madeline had to propose for her business idea, as she heard everything clearly, Kamille imagined all the Wonderful things her and @Madeline can do in the business district for New York.

Kamille nods her head, picks her glass of wine and smiles.

I really like what you have planned Madeline

The waiter offered Kamille some pasta and she kindly accepted, grabbing her plate and utensils to put some of the pasta on her plate, then take a bite of her pasta she accidentally got sauce on the side of her lip, Kamille then grabs the nearest napkin to wipe her mouth then looks at @Madeline. 

Rafa and I, have spoken about opening businesses on our turf and he said he would gladly support any business I agree with.

​​​​​​​Kamille then puts the napkin to the side crumbled up. 

when will you like to start this business of your and what will you need from me and Don Rafa? 

Madeline grinned as Kamille expressed a happiness in her ideas. She was thrilled that they could kick this off the ground soon and she knew it would be a tremendous success if they worked together on advertising it.

“All I need right now is your partnership and your permission, but of which it seems like I’ve managed to get here today. I’ve already located a pier in downtown Manhattan, near Battery Park. And I have people looking into boats for me; the yachts have to be modified to clear out the inside, so they have benches instead of bunks. And then we have to advertise. If we focus on making the boat tours popular, it should be easy to get investors who want to build off that and open new businesses near our ports. We can put the word out in other cities, entice a few people to start and see how it goes from there.”

She raised her wine glass, still smiling from ear to ear “Let’s toast, to our new friendship and partnership and to the city of New York. May it grow bright and strong.”

The next few weeks would be busy, that was for sure, but if everything went as planned they would soon be launching a new plan for businesses in New York City, one Madeline was sure would be a success. 

Kamille has never been so excited before in her life, it is as if she had won the lotto, 

"Advertising and getting support shouldn't be a problem, with some strong connections I have spread across the map, I feel like this will sky rocket."

Kamille raises her glass with such confidence that her and madeline would help change New York for the better. after tapping her wine glass with Madeline's she then repeats after her.
