If I remember correctly bodyguards were 500k a pop and no upkeep back in the day. Racing for IAs was much more difficult. No MIAs or durdens. Good times. |

Was already feeling old as its my birthday this weekend, now feeling even older due to this reminder of how long i've been playing haha, thanks! |

TomKirkman, I think you're right about the 200. I'm so old that I may be misremembering the 300 thing as this time I took a walk with a bunch of my greek friends... |

I miss the challenge of training a gun. I felt more accomplished with a 300+ kill gun than I did with a 900+ kill gun. It seemed to matter more. I remember the days of 200 man crews, the HQ was actually used for more than just rules and guides. Had some good times in those. I actually even miss the beauty pageants and beach parties in the Streets. They were something everyone could participate in... Oh, the debates, the banter... Not the squishy posts like we have now. People weren't afraid of offending someone. IRC was generally active, instead of crew chats and such, we had IRC channels. We definitely got away with more back then than we would now. The way we played back then wouldn't be acceptable now. The game is a lot "softer" I feel. The ranking was harder, ranks meant more, money meant more, bodyguards were a luxury for leaders and hands... Don was like, wow, getting Don was a big deal! Godfather wasn't even a thing back then, you could be an "Acting Godfather" or "City Head", but that's it. Now it seems like anyone and their kitten can get Godfather points. Even Telkin and birday. The wars... Oh man. The 5-7 day grinders. The rogues being very effective, some extremely devastating. The game was a lot different back then... |

TomKirkman we had 250 man HQs in 2003/2004. I remember my biggest crew I had as a leader was 237 members. That was in the summer of '04. |

Didn't Maverick have like 400 members? I don't know, I'm senile. Also, I think BG's were 1,000,000 a pop. No WS for attempted wacks, so you could prowack with immunity unless someone actually used their brain to figure out who was doing it. You had to be smarter back then. |

Maverick was before my time, but I remember prowacking myself for at least 24 hours while I was "rogue" once. |

The largest (as far as I remember) HQ sizes were 200 man HQs, however, old .org had a bug where a user wasnt 'really in your crew' if he was in jail. So you could park users in jail so they didnt count towards that limit. There was also another bug that as long as you sent out the invites before hitting 200, then people could accept them after the fact. |
