It had been a busy few weeks in in Las Vegas, everything was coming along well. Uncle Joe had been really busy lately with the rackets and decided that he was going to need one of his brightest starts to step up. The fact that it was his sisters daughter was of little consequence. She had earned this. 

Uncle Joe called for Dolores Addolorata to meet him at his office in his pork store, Salumeria Biellese. Later that evening when she arrived the store was closed. 

Dolores came to the back door and knocked.

She waited a moment before being greeted by her Uncle Joe.

"Hey Doll, come on in. I was just carving up some fresh fresh Panchetta. You'll have to take some home before you go."

Uncle Joe and Doll made their way to his office and sat down. 

"I called you over here today for two reasons. One, I've been promising your mother her weekly delivery for two days. I was hoping you could drop it off to her, along with some of that Panchetta I was cutting up."

Uncle Joe paused for a moment and reached for two glasses. He reached in his desk and pulled out one of his favorite scotches and began to pour two drinks.

"Two, I want you to step up in the neighborhood and help your dear old Uncle Joe run vice."

Dolores looked shocked. She had spent years under the tutelage of her Uncle. She had never imagined that he would ask her to run a crew for him.

Uncle Joe handed her the drink and continued.

"I want you to get with some of the up and coming thugs on the street and put them to work, get them organized under the families banner. You've always been my favorite niece and I know I can depend on you to help me run things on the strip. I've been spending so much time over at my casino making sure things are going smooth that I've neglected certain things on the streets. Let's toss these drinks back and get you on your way with your moms delivery. Don't tell her about this promotion either. She's likely to cut me over it." Uncle Joe chuckled.

Uncle Joe and Dolores made their way back to the butcher block and he loaded her up with fresh Bresaola, Capicolla, Finocchiona, Panchetta and some very special Salami.

"I think your mom's gonna be happy with this." Joe remarked.

"You go ahead and get that to her and I'll get back with you in a few days to see how things are coming. With your old Uncle Joe watching out for you there shouldn't be any issues."

Uncle Joe gave his niece a kiss on each cheek and sent her on her way.

Dolores feels the warmth of her uncle's kiss on her cheek and gets ready to head home to prepare

Dolores starts going home with her meat, and a big smile on her face, prepared to make Uncle Joe proud. She sees Rubix walking on the street and stops to give him a piece of mortadella.
