"More beer," Penseur said to the waitress while pointing at the table, before taking a long chug of his beer. "...and keep them coming." "Of course sir" the waitress replied and went to the bar to catch the order. Penseur nodded and went over to the bar, but he couldn't get rid of the feeling that something would go wrong, perhaps a trap? "FBI. This is a raid." On their way to the booking, Penseur leaned forward and asked one of the fed what the charges were. "People don't like it when you pay frequent visits to their business and have no intentions whatsoever to purchase any of the services they provide or even spend money on anything else, and this my friends doesn't sit well with our friends. Especially when you conduct business under their roof and have no intention to give them their share." Penseur tried to talk his way out of it. "This is a misunderstanding, we were waiting for friends from out of town to arrive and then would have some fun with the ladies." But Penseur's attempts were in vain. The feds processed them and locked them up in detention. An hour later the cell door opened again and a female officer, escorted by an FBI agent, delivered a tray with some food and water for Penseur and Vincent. Alongside the food, there was a hidden note under one of the plates and left in a hurry again before Penseur and Vincent even could say something to her. Vincent opened the note and showed the content to Penseur:
Penseur found playing cards probably left by one of the former occupants of the prison cell. To pass the time, Penseur and Vincent played some poker. At that moment a few muffled shots were heard and a voice yelling: "Get away from the door and lay down on the floor." This woke up Penseur and they both hurried to the back of the prison cell and lay down on the floor. An explosion opened up a gap in the wall and through the dust, they saw two people entering the cell, helping them up and urged them to leave the room. Once outside they were able to recognize Riley and Leticia, as the two figures helping them out. "How did you know we were in jail?" Vincent asked. "The Bartender sent an urgent message. The agent driving you to detention gave us the locating, the guard's schedule and where you were being held. Vincent smiled and told the guys how proud he was that his team had done such a great job. He was looking forward to the dinner and a good night sleep. |

It seemed like a good idea to get a couple of drinks before heading home as the business trip she had just ventured on moments ago was mentally exhausting. Leticia had finally returned to LA, and she was grateful to still have all her body parts with her. As she sat in the backseat of the vehicle, she urged her driver to stop with a wave of her hand. A police car was parked in front of the bar she arrived at, and her eyes immediately landed on Vincent_Mancini whose elbows were being gripped by two policemen. “What the hell.. is going on!?!” She gasped, giving a serious look to the driver before thinking of what crazy events occurred in that bar for this to happen. There was an unconscious man, hidden from her view, but Leticia knew Vincent only had one right hand. “Penseur as well?!?!” Leticia mumbled in a hurry. Needless to say, she was shocked and even worried that someone might see her, and lock her up as well. Leticia snapped back to reality, before giving an order to the driver to take her to Riley and DuClaw’s headquarters. They link up, and by the end of their quick discussion they decided to go to DuClaw’s HQ and finish the plan there. Leticia waited patiently for people to show up so they could go over the plan, holding onto the hope that it would be executed properly. Once more numbers started to show up, Leticia spoke between panicked breaths. “I don’t-... I don’t know I just saw Vincent and Penseur being taken by police officers and um.. Not sure if they’re being taken because the feds found out about their scheme or if this is all a separate situation. Either way, they are in danger and we really should get them out before more cops start to tackle deeper into… this thing of ours.” She nodded slowly in everyone’s direction, hinting that she wouldn’t stand for the destruction of the honoured society that they had been dedicating their lives to for so long. She noticed the look of anger on Riley’s face, and she just nodded again in response, not knowing what else to say. A couple of orders were made by him before Leticia went over the strategies again with the others. DuClaw had told her specifically. “Give a message to them that we will make the trip tonight.” Leticia acknowledged the request, checking the clock on the wall and hoping that their time would be used wisely. She was about to exit the headquarters, but stopped to turn around and face Orion. “Hey Orion, you better please the Godfather with yummy food. Jail food is awful.” It must have been an inappropriate time to joke around, as she received a teasing scowl from him. “Alright, alright. I was just kidding man, back off.” She jeered, giving a wave before scurrying off to get the necessary materials. The waiting time at the prison gate was short, which Leticia could always appreciate. Her patience at this time was beginning to wear out. She hoped that none of the cops physically harmed Vincent or Penseur, spare a few beatings here and there? Leticia shivered, her mind racing with negative thoughts. Suddenly, an old lady emerged, greeting Leticia with a gentle smile. “Leticia, darling. Long time no see. You really look like your mother.” She replied in a wholesome manner, but of course, this was nothing new. Leticia was always greeted with this sentence when she met up with this old, aging lady. “Um yes.. Hello Morina. Sorry to bother you , but I need a little help. Since you are one of the prison’s officers, could you help me to give this note to Vincent Mancini?” She spoke with earnest eyes and a tone of determination.
“Certainly, dear.” She winks, taking the note that was delicately placed beside the plate of food on the tray that came with it.
“Grazie, madam.” Leticia lowered her head, before backing away into the shadows. |
