Killian walked casually down toward the waters edge. It took a while, but he was able to find a decent riverside park south of Philly to relax. He has a bag in his left hand, which contained a few unmarked bottles. They were the first of many, his own recipe. He had to adapt it though, the ingredients here in the states were different. He didn't have access to the same hops and grains that he did in Ireland. Prohibition sucked. Back in Ireland he had provided a few select bars with his ales, and they were wildly popular. He was excited to see if these would turn out just as good. He found a bench and sat down, taking a moment to breath in the fresh air. He missed home. Family, friends, the bars and most of all his ales. He couldn't go back though, not now. Things had gotten really out of hand before he left. He refused to be a part of it, and he knew that returning would mean certain death. Killian sighed deeply. He reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a cut cigar and a small box of matches. He struck the match and puffed away until he was satisfied with the light. He puffed on the cigar for a few moments, trying to clear his mind. Home was here now, this new family gave him some sense of hope, and something to look forward to. |

Dom had completed most of his work early this morning and had a little free time on his hand. He wondered what the day would bring. After grabbing his light jacket he headed out the door and made way to the park just outside of Philidelphia. He enjoyed going out there occasionally to feed the ducks. He had reached the riverside and began to tear pieces of stale bread apart to feed the ducks. They ran around pecking each other to get first dibs on the bread. A little baby duck was unable to get in the mix so Dom waved his hands towards bigger ones in attempt to move them out of the way. The baby duck continued to sit there waiting for him to drop a piece of bread. As soon as Dom had dropped the pieces the baby duck had a field day. After several minutes Dom hands were finally empty and he began to walk away down the sidewalk. Ahead he noticed a young man sitting alone on a park bench. "Would you mind some company?" Dom sat down and grabbed a cigarette out of his pack after seeing the young man puff on a cigar. "Got a lighter?" Dom asked. The young man began to search his pockets. "Names Dom, Nice to meet ya. Beautiful day, eh? |

Killian snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a man approaching. He nodded a polite greeting to him Dom. "Company sounds great. I don't get much of it these days." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pack of matches, and held it out for Dom. "Nice to meet you, Dom. I'm Killian." Killian looked out at the water. "Aye, its a great day." He absentmindedly rubbed his muttonstache, sinking back into his thoughts for a moment. He sighed lightly and reached down to the bag, pulling out two swing-top glass bottles. He offered one over to Dom. "Care for a drink, friend?" |

Dom reached for the pack of matches. Struck one, and lit his cigarette. After taking a short drag he noticed Killian reaching into a bag and pulling out two unmarked bottles before offering Dom one. Dom grabbed one and popped it open. "Wow, smells great. But why are they unmarked?" Dom looked at Killian with a smirk. The two took a swig out of the bottles and sat back... |

Killian took a long deliberate drink. He swished the last bit around for a second in his mouth while inspecting the bottles contents in the sunlight. "They're unlabeled.. well because of this damned prohibition. And because they are a private brew." He took another drink. "Not bad, but not as good as the original. I'll need to go back to the drawing board." He said quietly, as if to himself. "So, Dom. Tell me a bit about yourself." |

Dom placed his right arm over the back of the bench and crossed his feet, one over the other.
"Well, like I mentioned before my name is Dom. In school I was the shy kid. The kid that never wanted to go out to any of the parties, school events, or class trips. I wasn't very popular either. After I graduated I made a decision that would change my life forever. I was tired of being the quiet guy. I had very little friends, no job, no college degree and knew I needed a change in life. My parents and brother thought I was awkward. One day while sitting in my bedroom a television documentary came on about Mafias. That nights episode spoke about brotherhood and living a luxurious life with great wealth. That was exactly what I was looking for. After the program ended I searched the internet for city's and states that had a high population of Mafias. Philly was one of the cities that came up so I made my decision. I posted in the local newspaper about looking for jobs. A landscaping company called me the next day and I started working for the owner. I saved every paycheck in order to buy a plane ticket to fly out to Philly. My parents and brother had no idea as I kept it on the low because I knew they would tell me how stupid I was thinking I could join a mafia family. The day finally came, I had enough money saved up to buy a one way ticket. I hopped back online and purchased my ticket. Flight to Philly that night. I packed a small bag just after my parents went to bed and had a taxi pick me up to take me to the airport. Six hours later I landed in Philly. As soon as I got there I found a homeless shelter to take me in until I could find contacts that dealt within the mafia. Finally a young lady had walked up to me as I sat at a local bar just down the street from the shelter. Her name was, Becceh. The leader of Exodus. She noticed I was new in town and wanted to welcome me to the city. We talked for several hours about my self and what she did. After she learned that I wanted to join the Mafia she informed me that she had a crew back home by the name of Exodus If I was interested in joining. Of course I instantly said yes with out hesitation. The family has been great to me and my life has been changed forever. Every day I learn a new life skill that I never had the chance of learning before. Enough about me."
"I'm interested in hearing about you!" Dom exclaimed. |

Killian's eyebrows raised as he listened to the story and puffed on his cigar. "Aye, that's quite the story there, Dom." He scratched at his facial hair with his free hand. "I haven't got too much to tell on my end. I was involved in some, well, sordid affairs back in Ireland. Decided that the best option was to cut ties and skip town. As America is the land o' opportunity, I thought to me self, theres no better place to go. Jumped on a boat, made it through Ellis Island, and began my journey here. Wasn't long before I found good work for myself." He took another long drink from his ale and frowned lightly. "Not quite swill, but not my finest work either." |

Dom sat and gave KillianQuinn his full attention has he explained about himself and what brought him to Philly. "Fair enough. I can tell that your brew is really bothering you. Plan on working on it here in the US," Dom asked. Dom was hoping that KillianQuinn would answer that question with a yes. The last few months Dom had been working on a plan in regards to a "backyard" distillery. Unfortunately he did not have the knowledge to produce the brew but had the knowledge to move the brew through the city. An old butcher shop warehouse tucked away in the back roads of Detroit came open a couple weeks ago and Dom met with the Bank to purchase the property. He knew at the moment business options were open and something would come along one day. This may be the day for Dom to get things started. Even if it didn't start up right away he could start building on his previous plans to produce a wealthy establishment. KillianQuinn, do you have any future plans on tweaking your brew to your liking?" If KillianQuinn was planning on working on his recipe to get his brew where he wanted it, Dom would offer him a location to do it with out getting caught. If the brew is a success Dom would offer KillianQuinn a business proposal. |

Killian took another drink. "Aye, a craft is never truly mastered, but I'll do what I can to always improve its flavor. Damned prohibition is makin' it too hard to find good ingredients." He took another drink, then puffed on his cigar. |

Dom put the glass bottle to his lips and took the last swig of Brew he received from Killian. It went down smooth and he was impressed with what he was drinking even though Killian knew it needed to be better for him to be satisfied. Not knowing much about brew and the ingriedients needed to have a top notch drink, he still offered his place to Killian to work on his creation. "I've got a property out in Detroit that I believe would be big enough for you to craft your greatest creations. I do not have much knowledge on the craft of beer but maybe we could find someone who could get the ingredients you need. Would you be interested in using my place?" Dom asked. He looked over at Killian with a smile on his face. |

Killian downed the remainder of his beer and placed the bottle back into the back. He listened as Dom made his offer. He smiled lightly at the thought of it. After spending a few moments mulling it over he scratched his beard and spoke up. "Honestly, Dom, I do appreciate the offer. However, I've got a good set up back at my place as it is, and finding someone with the right ingredients isn't hard, it's picking and choosing the flavors that presents a challenge. It can be very intricate." Killian looked out over the water one last time and stood up. "Listen, when I finally perfect this thing I'll head on over to Detroit and look you up. I wouldn't mind expanding my horizons as far as distribution goes. Connections are hard to come by these days." Killian offered a handshake to Dom. "Thank you for your company." |
