I require the services of an assassin. Started by: Vela on Aug 09, '18 20:38

There didn't seem to be anything unusual about the task that Vela was assigned to, considering the fact that she had been invested into this criminal lifestyle for ages now. Committing petty crimes and organising group scandals were pretty much included in a mafia member's day to day activities, an offer that couldn't be refused especially if requested by your boss or some other authority. There was always something to be done, and as a result, everyone in The Ivory Tower always had something to do.

However, Vela had her fair share of guilt trips in the past due to missions that she begrudgingly had to complete. There were particular jobs she hated doing, and now it seemed that she had just sealed her fate because the one she was currently assigned to is in that category of 'particular jobs'. Out of the ordinary, if you will.

Walking through the big doors of the tall, scary building she had just pulled up to with her pristinely kept black sneakers and jeans, having just hopped out of her vehicle, she looked wicked and brave. So was everyone else that she saw as she trotted in, but thick tension filled the air when the people had sensed that her infamy came from a life much different than theirs.

Vela was a member of an elite crew that had no time to be playing around, and as such she was always on the go. Though people might see her as a tiny, vulnerable soul, she wouldn't hesitate to blast her bullets into her opposition and rob them of their life.

The bootleggers, corrupt agents, lousy politicians and scandalous criminals that frequented the city of Detroit could easily do the same thing as her, only difference was that she would do it with ease and careful planning. Anyone could easily hire a janitor to clean up their mess, but she made sure whenever she left a crime scene there would be no evidence of blood on the floor.

In addition to this, the differences actually go much deeper than that. Maybe for any other criminal, they kill to make a quick few bucks in order to feed their own gambling addictions, but for Vela, executing anyone, for her, would be a sign of her loyalty to her Don and the Godfather that represented Detroit.

That was why the people turned their heads to her with frightened and angry expressions on their faces. Vela knew the reputation she had around these streets, so it wouldn't come to her as a surprise if she discovered that any one person from the people she saw that night held a grudge against her, and wanted to kill her. But in return, Vela also had some enemies that she thought would be better off if they were in their death beds.

But that was not the main focus for tonight.

Vela lifted her chin as she spoke amidst the tension that surrounded the establishment. She spoke in a slightly louder voice than everyone else, which shut up all the quiet chatter and whispers.

"I require the services of an assassin."

Everyone saw her hand that was placed near the gun holster attached to her hip, showing that she was ready to take down anyone who seemed to resist her request. Any objections that would rise were not any of her business. She was just asked to hire someone and that was it. Simple and easy, or at least she hoped it would be.

In spite of that, Vela was clueless as to why she was asked to hire a bounty hunter when she thought she would be capable of doing this alone. Apparently she had to capture a few people that had ties to a children's prostitution ring, but Vela figured that some of the upper structures didn't want anyone mistaking any deaths as their wrongdoings.

Sometimes family bosses didn't like to get their hands dirty, but Vela didn't see anything wrong with it. There were hitters for that reason. Vela was filled with disdain not for them, but for anyone who would even use a child prostitution ring as a way of making money. It was absolutely sickening. She could understand if they were a bit older (though still sickening) but seriously.. children!?

As a result, Vela was not embarrassed to work on this mission but she did feel tense about hiring a new partner in crime.

Something told her, however, that no one in the room wished to ever put themselves in such a dangerous situation. Maybe the much too accurate tone in her speech intimidated the other folks because Vela could clearly see that no one seemed to take interest in her request.

Rather she decided to change up the way she said her request. Maybe in a more direct way instead of using corrective speech.

"The services of a bounty hunter are needed. Someone who can also provide transportation for me in order to arrive at a place which shall be named in private, along with assistance in capturing a specific suspect. I assure you, my bosses will compensate you handsomely."

Vela was not going to beat around the bush anymore. She wanted the other people in the room to know that the person she was going after was quite dangerous, since she was asked to hire another person to do the job with her. It would suggest that the city council wanted to keep their presence out of this for whatever reason.

"It involves a children's prostitution ring, and our efforts to finally put an end to it."

Pausing once more in her speech, she decided she might bring up the whole thing about the money prize later. It was too risky to just say it out loud in a room full of strangers, some probably who were robbers in disguise.

Vela wanted badly to put the person behind the prostitution ring to the grave. Of course, Vela had no idea that her bounty hunter would be a female any more than she had realized that she was an old friend.

Things could turn very unusual when both parties had a past with each other.

Sitting in the back , peaking from the darkest of shadows, he watched as his sister , walking in , taking up an audience , he smirked , kind of intrigued, seeing she was scared , but not enough for any mere human to pick up on, but she also seemed to over come that fear , and in doing so , she used her prowess as an empowerment , to get what she wanted , he was glad that she was learning , even though he tought her that ,  to a certain extent .

As he watched her demand her way, he noticed that people seemed to be afraid to give her an answer, he sighed, taking his last shot , and gently set it on the table .

He was glad he wore his deep hooded heavy coat,  to some what conceal himself , he put on his hood , zipped up his coat ,so all you see were his tattoed hand , and his hair was tucked away in his coat, the bottome of his coat was down to his feet , but part of his was split upen so you could see his black leather pants .

"I will do it, as long as you don't ask questions ." He said , as he put on his mask , standing up walking towards from the shadows .

As he walked towards her, they all could hear the heels of his boots hitting the floor as he walked , they all staredst him gasping , saying drifter , he smirked from beneath his mask , but instead of looking at her he looked straight forward, waiting for her to speak .

Becarefullwhatuask4 is intrigued with the
eye catching headline. But who in their right mind requests an assissan publically?

Sounds like a death wish or a set of brass balls.

This remains to be seen.
